Das Pelikan Hotel Schwäbisch Gmünd in Schwabisch Gmund

I was very satisfied with my room (I haven't had any breakfast): clean, agreeable, all what I needed.

But I was very dissatisfied with my arrival: I had written beforehand saying at what time I would arrive and asking whether it was ok. It was written on the document I received that the reception would be open until 10 o'clock in the evening.
I hadn't received any reply regarding my e-mail, so I thought everything was fine, but no: as I arrived, the reception was closed and nobody was there to give me the key of my room.

I was very lucky because some clients of the hotel helped me and could lend me their phone to call the hotel service (I did not have any internet and any German phone!). The person at the phone told me that I had received the code per e-mail (which I hadn't at all!) and was not very friendly.

So, my arrival at the hotel was not agreeable at all. Hadn't I the luck to find friendly people in the hotel ready to help me, I would not have been able at all to have slept in my room.

It is not normal that the hotel doesn't make sure that everything is ok for people who have paid for their room and that they will be able to have their key when they arrive.

The price/performance ratio is too low. The price is over 600 without breakfast. The facilities are old and the traditional key is stuck in the door for a long time. The ground parking lot costs an additional 7 euros and the underground parking lot costs 15 euros.
