Reviews
The only thing could be the location in case you want to go to the downtown, since you have around 20-25 minutes walk, and in the beginning the streets are not very beautiful, anyways is not a big deal.
The pubic transportation in this case has no very good options, and that’s another weak point.
The worst thing is : not providing daily housekeeping.
Only every 3 days the housekeeper will clean the room.
I stay for 4 nights . On the 3rd night finally our room was cleaned by the housekeeper. However , I notice in the morning ( since we came back to our room very late at night and was so tired ) 9that my paper shopping back next to my cabin size luggage was gone missing.
So , I asked the Front Desk Officer ( name : Sophia ) about my paper shopping back that contains my Ginger Bread I bought from several Christmas Markets during my several daytrips to Nuremberg , Munich, Rothenburg ob der Tauber. She said there was nothing she could do. Since the housekeeper didn't admit stealing or taking my ginger breads ( the whole shopping bag ) . I was really upset because those ginger breads are not only just any cookies or bread I could find anywhere. I come from so far away ( 20 hours flight & train ) to Germany for enjoying Christmas Market. And eating those German cookies & breads. The way she acted was really not professional as a Front Desk Officer. Then , I asked to talk to the hotel manager. Then the F& B Manager ( Mr. Mohammad ) came to my room before we checked out. He was nice & very polite . Trying to compensate me with a bottle of wine. Unfortunately, I couldn't take the wine since we brought so many stuffs already and we are still visiting other cities in Germany by train. Before returning to our country in 10 days. This Marriot management should realize that they keep dishonest housekeeper that make the guest (in this case ) lost valuable stuff inside the guestroom during making up / cleaning. Marriot management should response more seriously about this stolen stuffs cause by their staffs ( housekeeping department/ division). Unfortunately this hotel doesn't provide CCTV too on the guestrooms corridors.
The good thing about this hotel is breakfast is good. Event though every day provide the same menu.
Additional disappointment:
The FO Officer didn't try to offer some help ( to call a taxi for us at least ) when we try to find UBER however none of the drivers were available.
- I requested a travel cot for my little daughter which didn't get provided (although written on booking.com that it would be)
- the door to the room is so heavy it's hard to get your luggage and/or a buggy through the door
- there's no way to air out the room or change the temperature
- Parking is hugely expensive for not even having direct access to the hotel
- our tissue box had 4 tissues (maybe just not checked from HK)
- the toilet seat closed so quickly, when my daughter tried to close it it fell into her face
- checkout receptionist was quite unfriendly when I asked how much time I would have to get out of the parking garage he said "it's up to me if I make it" - thanks for assisting..
Despite those encounters the hotel is pretty and clean. Room setup was surprising at first but nice and convenient with everything you need for a short stay. Breakfast was a nice big selection.
Didn’t eat at the hotel, so I can only say there's a Lidl right next to it with cheap prices.
The room was overall clean and spacious, but way too dark in the evenings even with all the lights on. There were plenty of clothing hangers, and a kettle, mugs, spoons and a hairdryer provided, and there were multiple outlets for charging your phone. The bathroom was fine, but the shower might need some deeper cleaning and better water pressure.
Staff were friendly despite some minor communication difficulties.
One thing to note is that they have a 50 euro per night deposit you have to pay at full in addition to the original price at check-in, so make sure to account for that. They also allow you to store your bags for free if you come too early for check-in.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay and the beds were comfortable. Air con was quite cold, so if you’re not used to it, you might want to pack some warmer sleepwear.
Free Wi‑Fi is very useful during my stay.
