Where to stay in Bad Homburg

Worth the 4 star rating. Spacious clean rooms with all the amenities you need, like a desk, two comfortable chairs, a network connection and a minibar. For whomever likes it, even a small pool. However, in my opinion overpriced. So look for special offers on the internet and enjoy the good quality of the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel four different times within a two week period and experienced 3 different rooms. First and foremost, the beds are extremely comfortable. In two of the rooms, we had brand new mattresses that were of the most comfortable I have ever experienced. Normally I sleep poorly when not at home and especially when overtired. We love the breakfast which s a huge selection of everything. There is a big car park under ground,as i know if you stay in the hotel you pay less than normal price for that. The hotel is located right next to the spa gardens. The breakfast is excellent. The rooms are functionally equipped and offer good comfort. I was able to express my room preferences in advance, which were then fulfilled. The staff are very friendly.

Bad Red Castle is located near Frankfurt. It takes more than 20 minutes to drive from the airport. It is about a kilometer walk from the hotel to the light rail station. A great place for its price It’s a great place for its price. A lovely location in the woods. Great for a relax walk in the area. Super clean. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast too. Twenty minutes walk to downtown. The only down side is that if you open the window, sometimes, a fly can come in because a horse stable is right next to it, but you won’t smell the horse. And I like horse :)

Had a pleasant stay. The room was spacious and had all you need in a hotel room. LOVED the shower. Defently the highlight of the room. Great breakfast, and super friendly staff. The downside is that there isn't elevator and we had to go through quite a few stairs on our way to our room, and back so be prepared.

The location is perfect. It's close to S-bahn and to the park with Elisabeth spring. Very wide choice of food for breakfast, though not too tasty. But hotel room is quite old fashioned and bath is too narrow, so uncomfortable to take shower there.

I stayed at this hotel for four nights in October 2025. It's simple, but perfectly adequate and clean. Parking is available in front of and behind the building. During my visit to Bad Homburg to see a friend, I stayed there for one night. I must say, it was truly a peaceful place. The spacious room with a balcony，the garden enveloped by trees, added to the tranquility of the experience. The breakfast, though simple, was plentiful and all the products were of high quality. Staff is nice. Thank you for providing such a delightful stay.

The Hotel Sonne is a simple hotel, but clean with everything you need. A good breakfast is provided, but no other food is available, so don't expect to eat here in the evening. This leads me to the biggest downside of the hotel - it's located away from the town centre so there is very little in the surrounding area. However, overall I would recommend the hotel.

Kind of a modern Gasthof. Located in a small village which probably had farm houses in the old days. Hotel is well renovated with tasteful interior design and carefully chosen furniture. Our room was more than big. We slept very well in this quiet place after eating evening meal in the neighborhood. The room was fine. However, it was very impractical to have only one key for the room, esp. when the room is on the 3rd floor. Frequently, one of us would have to walk down and open the door for the other. It should be possible to obtain two house and room keys when checking in.

Very good hotel, comfortable, big, clean rooms. Equipped with tea, coffee, complimentary candies and shower gels, soup, ear sticks, cotton pads. They have complimentary fruits for the visitors on the stairs. There were some problems with wifi that we got from the administrator, but they have some other guest wifi that worked perfectly for me. Reasonably priced for being right downtown. Very friendly host providing amazing selection with their all you can eat German breakfast. Rooms are comfortable, clean and well appointed. I can recommend it without reservations. Great location for seeing the sights right in the old heart if the city.

There was no Wi-Fi in the rooms. The room was next to the luggage elevator, so the noise from the elevator running every morning was very loud. The room was cleaned every two days. The surrounding area was very quiet; the only sound I could hear was the church bells.

The single room is probably from the 70s or 80s. The bed wasn't very comfortable. The bathroom, however, was spotless and newer. The room for 70 to 80 euros without breakfast is overpriced. There are better deals around Frankfurt that include breakfast for that price. We're talking about weekends, of course.

Keys and service are available even when arriving late

Perfect place to stay: clean, quiet, comfortable and a very good price. The staff were very friendly and the buffet breakfast at €6 was very good value. Everything was suited to making the stay as convenient as possible and with a great nights sleep it was a perfect base for sightseeing. Excellent, low key Hotel, clean & comfortable. Great location! Near center of town & old town, many restaurants in walking distance. Also Castle and parks in walking distance not far away as well. A turkish supermarket 1 block away, and a general super market ("Rewe") about 3 blocks away.

Nice, somewhat modern rooms, style is debatable, a good TV with screen mirroring is not. The best thing about this place however is the service, staff may not always agree with your wishes, but will take care of them nevertheless. Food in the bistro and breakfast were good as well, yet lacking a few more vegetarian and vegan choices.

The staff was very friendly. The receptionist patiently explained to me that they could not do anything about the corrupt state tourist tax. The room was small but clean and I was able to relax there. The location is relatively quiet. Luckily I arrived by train and bus and not by car, because the parking situation is not so good there.

They have beds. They have breakfast (no eggs or bacon but okay fine). They have a great manager. Only knock is the WiFi is not great. Manageable but not elite.
