Reviews
One walks in to be saluted with 6 big huge duffle bags on each side of the steps filled with laundry.
Broken shower sliding door, uncomfortable mattress, outdated furniture, WI-FI one cannot connect to, booked a double bed room for two people ended up in a room with two single beds one of which had no pillow and one towel set only. We had to go down back to reception to ask the young man for a pillow only without mentioning the towels as we decided to skip using the shower! This room was deffinitely meant for a single occupancy. AVOID THIS HOTEL!!
Not to mention that the room was far from clean.I do not unferstand how a place like this can still stand and offer an accommodation.
If there was a 0 star review, this would be the case.
Since my parents wanted to arrive a day early, we decided nevertheless arriving earlier and our stuff for them to unload and to take 13 at the key for the room in reception.
Upon our arrival we noticed that there is very little Parking on site (approx. 6-7 Parking spaces). Otherwise the Hotel made a good impression when you consider the reasonable price. The rooms and bathrooms were quite small but looked clean.
However, we noticed upon our arrival that the reception is only occupied from 15 clock and not as in the Mail to 13 PM. As this was for us, but it's too late we asked an employee who was just in a house on the brush, whether we would get for our keys in order to 13 PM. The staff was polite and looked to have in the PC to which room we could not find us. She informed us that we would have to call the boss or the Boss, gave us the number and apologized because they had to clean in the other house.
I called the number listed and was connected with a woman who was understand due to a strong foreign accent. These complained, first, that we were finally early. As I explained to her that we only want to know if we would get to 13 PM and then our room key, since we don't appear to be listed in the booking calendar, she explained to me after half a Minute of Silence, she was there in 10 minutes.
After about 10 minutes, the said Boss, which is related to the appears to be with a millionaire's daughter and an American hotel chain, and very annoyed, was that now you have to come had actually arrived. With a tight "Hello" strutted past us and gave the impression that they really had not had to deal with our Problem and we are also to blame for it. Of courtesy, because I would have expected at least a handshake.
She looked through the reservation plan in the PC and asked us if we had by phone or by e-mail reserved. Apparently, they couldn't find us also asked us to booked the price at which we would have and explained to us then that we should go to their partner hotel, and a room should book. She walked with us in front of the door, pointed to the side road and explained that the Hotel was there and we should just say that we came from her.
There was neither an accurate explanation of what was wrong, nor an apology for the inconvenience.
The other Hotel was further to the right two houses, and to my Inquiries, declared to us, that we would get the same price, even if this would be far below their normal prices.
In summary, I can say for the Hotel Adler:
The hotel itself was fine and the Breakfast was according to our Relatives are also acceptable. Outwardly, it seems to be measured in terms of the price in order.
Due to the appearance and behavior of the Boss of this hotel I can not recommend this Hotel but absolutely.
From other guests who also came to the wedding celebration, we have heard similar reports about the "hospitality". And a Few even had the Problem that you couldn't get a room, as the reception was not occupied, as they wanted to check in and no keys in a hatch were ready, as it was on the sign at the front Desk.
The breakfast was not horrible.
Friendly staff.
Con:
1. Room smells like pee when the window isn't open.
2. Pay for WIFI - 3.80 Euro for 3 days for 1 device.
3. Wifi connection is poor, google front page has 50/50 chance to load. My phone is unable to connect.
My colleague on the floor above cannot connect any device to the WIFI.
4. They gave me a wine-stained cover on the bed.
This is what you need to know:
- No elevator, which isn't a big deal, unless you have heavy luggage.
- The reception is closed most of the time, even at times where it's supposed to be open.
- Paper thin walls. Very noisy in the mornings, forget about restful sleep.
- The beds seemed nice... that was until I noticed the blood stains and I got bitten by bugs.
- Warning for those with dust allergies: There's a thick layer of dirt and objects under the bed, which I surmised belonged to past guests.
- Other than a TV, a phone, furniture and toilet paper, there's nothing available for the guests. Water boiler, Cups, Shampoo? Not here.
- If you want WIFI access, you'll be charged extra and arbitrarily (one day we were charged 5 EUR for 3 days of access, only on 2 devices. Another day we were charged 4 EUR for 2 days, 1 device). Despite the price, don't expect a good connection.
- Everything in this place is half functional or in a neglected state, from the TV, to the power outlets and door handles.
After the terrible impression this place left on us, I still thought the people working there weren't that bad. That was until the day were we left, instead of getting a call to let us know about the checkout time (at 11 am) 30-15 mins before, like any other regular hotel, we started getting knocks on our door at 9:30 am, basically hurrying us up and kicking us out. At the third time, we left, and of course there was no one at the reception (which was supposed to be open), so we just left the key with the cleaning lady (the one passive-aggressively kicking us out).
All in all, I wouldn't recommend the Adler Hotel to my worst enemy.
Unfortunately you cannot chose zero stars.
