Ideal position of hotel on a lake surrounded by forest. After a long walk we looked forward to coffee and cake on the terrace. Very nice young lady took our orders but when we queried whether the decoffinated coffee was really as requested, the rudest of waiters whipped the coffee away from under my nose and told me that I cannot drink it. When trying to complain to the manageress her reply was that she had no time to discuss this. To top it all she overcharged us. Perhaps it is a gimmick to be rude to visitors. We did not stay overnight in the hotel - the rudeness of those 2 was enough to escape asap

I was here in september for a motor tour. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, but the routes were!
The Dutch owner who bought the place a year ago and the Italian chef are friendly and loves to hang out for a chat in the late hours. Tip: if you like a surprise or can't choose, then ask the chef to make you a surprise meal. I asked for a pasta, saying no more or less than that. His reply: "Say no more. I'll make you a pasta." Of course there is a chance it is something you don't like, but it might also give you a new favorite dish!

Discovered today by chance on the Harz bike tour. Great terrace with a view of the Innerste dam. A very friendly Dutch owner couple and just as nice, friendly service. Is highly recommended for a visit.

Nice little hotel right on the reservoir. Very nicely located and quiet, away from the main road. We were only there for a little rest. After an absolutely delicious ice cream, we asked if we could also order food as non-hotel guests. No problem, tasty and nicely presented.
Since we usually visit the Harz Mountains as bikers and the hotel and the staff left a nice impression, I think we will give it a try in 2022 and choose it to stay on our tours. Many thanks also to the friendly service.
