Absolutely wonderful place for a few nights with quiet surroundings and nice views. Hosts Han and Anja is a very friendly Dutch couple who runs this small laid back hotel. Self-service fridge with drinks of all kinds, just note what you consume. The room was clean and nice with good decor and quality beds, a small fan would have been great for warm nights but not really a problem. Free to use garden, balconies etc to unwind and enjoy a drink.
Breakfast was delicious with fresh made-2-order eggs etc of your choice.
We will definitely be back next time we visit Harz.

We stayed 5 nights. Awesome hospitality, fantastic breakfast buffet, different fresh fruit salad every day, fresh crispy buns, different egg options, many cheeses and meats, unlimited coffee and tea selection. It was the best mattress we have ever slept on. The entire place is super clean, we got told that the place will be closed in November and that all bathrooms will be renovated, however our bathroom was very okay. For the quality, the outstanding breakfast, the friendliness, you would expect double the price. The reasonable price with top quality stay and service, you can't go wrong. Great walks in the area and short distance drive to old towns. 5 stars out of 5.

Very friendly dutch couple hosting this hotel. Beautiful located and as a political/social scientist I was especially fascinated by the fact that this is just a few hundred meters from the old BRD/DDR-border. Here you can combine nature with fascinating historical sights. Very recommendable
