Parkhotel del Mar in Sassnitz

Unfortunately the manager on the receiption was not kind and hard management person for any agreement, he asked our crew to leave early morning and not possible to make any decisions:(

Good breakfast and cooking staff there 👌🙂

We arrived early in the evening after the reception had closed we had to get the key from a key box. It was easy and flawless.

Obtaining the key from the key box was easy and flawless.

From then on, unfortunately, it only went downhill.

The room provided had not even the slightest resemblance with the photos provided at the time of booking. It was clean but had worn furniture not fitting the layout.

The fridge stood on a small table next to the entrance door.

The TV stood on a cupboard in the middle of the room. Watching TV while sitting on the sofa is virtually impossible, as a concrete pillar in the centre of the room obscures the view of the TV screen.

The beds were squeezed into a much too narrow space at the end of the room, making it difficult to enter and exit the bed on one side.

As a result, only one bed had a bed lamp and a bed table. Not both beds as shown on all the photos when booking.

The power outlets, described as being “close” to the bed, were located IN the bed, behind the pillows. Likewise, the switch for the room light was adjacent to the power outlets. Consequently, the power outlets were unusable while using the bed.

If a person in the bed moved during sleep, the switch for the room light was activated. Several times during the night, we experienced that we, while sleeping, had pressed the button with the pillow, turning on the lights. Needless to say: A brightly lit room in the middle of the night does not promote comfort and quality of sleep. Subsequently, reading other reviews of Parkhotel Del Mar, we notice that we are not the only ones to have experienced this.

Also, the hotel management fails to mention that the room has no ventilation and faces the main street in Sassnitz.
On a warm night, guests can keep the windows closed and not get any fresh air in the room and not have a way to cool down the room, or they can open the windows and live with traffic noise from cars, passing ambulances and police cars in the middle of the night.

Despite promising free WiFi throughout the entire hotel, most of the time during our 15-hour stay the Wifi was either non-functional or unusably slow

The excellent breakfast buffet was one of the few positive experiences.

Before posting this review, we, of course, contacted the hotel management and expressed our dissatisfaction. Unfortunately, this was a waste of time. Their response was: Your complaint relates to personal sensitivities.

Don’t bother… closed.
Couldn’t check in as hotel was locked. Nobody answered phone.
