The room is very small, smaller than description, the heating is not like the rest of the high-end hotels, but heating under the window, there is no phone to call the reception, I had to use my phone and search for the hotel number through Google and then wait for the autoresponder, to ask them a question The fan has a thick dust on it, it hasn't been cleaned in a while

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The bedroom was spacious and clean with tea and coffee facilities in the room. The only downside was with the windows open we heard a lot of traffic noise . Room needed air conditioning as when we were there the temperature was 30 degrees - but there was an electric fan in the room.

Small hotel but very nice and super clean room! We enjoyed our two day stay.

Our stay at "Zum Schwanen" was amazing! The huge free parking just a few steps away on Schwanenplatz was a great convenience. The staff was incredibly helpful, and Christian went above and beyond, accommodating our special requests and providing extra storage for our equipment. Super nice guy and great chef!

My stay was great. Good room, service, rates and location (spend a few days doing meetings in Cologne and region). Surely will consider for future trips.

The hotel is conveniently located, there are many restaurants and shops nearby and easy to reach on foot. The rooms are spacious and practical in terms of space. The rooms are not cleaned every day. The elevator does not work properly and therefore takes a long time. You have to wait a long time at reception until someone comes. Very nice hotel, I’ve stayed there before. On my way up from a night in France I longed for eating in the very good restaurant, only to find out that it was closed on Mondays. Very bad, it is absolutely necessary if information says the hotel has a restaurant also to inform if it is closed one day a week, in this case Monday.

Quiet, well renovated to a high standard, very good food. And nice walks in the evening through the forest

Very good location: 30min away from Cologne by car, in the middle of the mountains and near a beautiful lake. It's the perfect place to escape from the city from a weekend and enjoy the beauty of nature... Plus, the staff is very nice and the breakfast (a buffet) is very good. My room was comfy and extremely clean, and I loved the view on the garden. I highly recommend!

Nice place in a refurbished countryside Manor. The restaurant is highly recommended. However rooms are scattered in the forest: I needed a car ride to reach my room from the reception!

The room was always clean and the breakfast was very good coupled up with a professional workers. The hotel is centrally situated with easy connections to the railway station and other important places. I would always recommend this hotel to other people.

The staff are wonderful! Location is great

Eat walk from the Bahnhof. Right around the corner from the Christmas market.

Nice, silent hotel in the center of Wuppertal, excellent breakfast, clean rooms.

Comfortable bed , clean and tidy. Nice breakfast. Very hot rooms and very noisy with the main street below.

Nice centrally located hotel. Room was unnecessarily massive. Bathroom was bigger than the bedroom. All good though. My only criticism is that there was someone snoring upstairs and it was so loud that it felt like he / she was in the room with me. So the sound proofing needs work. Breakfast was ok just.

I’ve read the previous mixed reviews. I found it clean and quiet. Outstanding breakfast buffet - worth it.

For the price it's actually okay, but there's apparently no hot water for showering after 10 pm and only from a certain time in the morning (probably 7:30 am). That's not so great...

Overall okay with minor limitations. Good value for money. Nice design throughout the house. 3 drawbacks: 1. At check-in, they immediately tried to charge us an outrageous €22 per person for breakfast, even though we hadn't booked it and hadn't been asked if we wanted it. It wasn't a problem to cancel it, but the sequence of events was odd. And – for a reasonable price, we might have accepted breakfast...

My wife surprised me with the "Romantic Declaration of Love" package. I only got the data for the satnav and off we went. When we arrived at the hotel, the computer had just crashed. The friendly staff played over the crash to show us and explain the entire ground floor. There is a lot to see and admire there. A beautiful double room, industrial with a modern, romantic and artistic twist. Lots of beautiful works of art, reproductions and even a Rietveld chair. The breakfast was delicious, all fresh products, tasty fruit, small sandwiches, lots of choice. Highly recommended... And will definitely come back again.

Great and clean place, spacious rooms and vegan breakfast. In walking distance of travel options.

Nearby the Operhouse, so, if you go to see a performance, it's at walking distance. It's clean, comfortable, welcoming, affordable and it's a family run place, which is getting so seldom and is so much nicer.

Smooth check-in procedure, centrally located hotel in a historical building close to the city brewery, Schebebahn and shops

Nice cosy apartment, if you are arriving in odd times, make sure you have mobile connectivity because the reception is not open all the day. You have to call them and they will let you know where is the key kept, I know the location where the keys are kept ;-)

The room was a little outdated, We had no plug in the bathtub, so my 2-year-old could not take a bath. The plug in the sink did not work. The family room was also on the 4th floor, making it a hard climb with small children, luggage...

Very friendly staff. Amazing breakfast. Average room, but clean. 1 lift for all; stairs area tends to smell of cigarette smoke since downstairs door to rear garden is open most of the time. I had a standard room which means it was to the front where the train tracks are. I didn't actually find the occasional train passing by to be as noisy as people had warned me about. Plus, the hotel provides one...

The criteria for choosing this hotel was that it was within walking distance of the train station. This is a simple hotel very close to the railway line, the outside is not very inviting and the interior is showing its age. The service is good and the room is reasonably spacious, but the breakfast buffet gave the impression of having been stocked by a discounter.

I can't say much, because we only slept there for 1 night. Everything was fine, the room was nice and clean

Great Hotel Very great Hotel. We always stay here when we visit in Solingen. Great Staff who help you with anything you need. We can only highly recommend this place

Second time here, and would stay again. It’s about a 10 min walk from train station. Handy for direct trains back to Düsseldorf or Köln, if attending events there. Clean and comfortable rooms. Downside is if you have the windows open you will hear trains. Breakfast buffet pretty good for a small extra cost

Very clean room, spacious and very friendly and helpful staff. Complimentary coffee was also an added bonus!

It's a shame there's no elevator, but it's still nice.

Staff was exceptional. Clean rooms and lovely breakfast and coffee available.

I personally prefer Tea & Coffee facilities in a hotel room, but there is free coffee available at breakfast Bar, Breakfast was 100% top class quality best I have eaten in any world wide hotel.

Very friendly staff, clearly attentive to guests, good breakfast, quiet.

We booked the hotel because they have swimming pool. But when arrived was informed it’s broken and can’t use. If we knew in advance we wouldn’t book it. It would be nice to be informed in advance. But I should have also called and double check before booking it myself.

Very nice hotel perfectly located. Pond and terrrace is beautiful but we could not eat on the terrace…. Unfortunately the restaurant is closed mondays and yuesdays (the two days we were there)

Very pleasant received and the room was up to a couple of stains on the carpet clean. Some minutes secluded but a short drive in the midst of life. Mediterrana Sauna world is only 5 km away, highly recommended

Big room, slightly confused check in, but that is forgivable as they were very busy. Food was great. No mention of breakfast in the room on any literature but a functioning coffee machine.

Second visit. Here. We took the Hollywood room. Lack of closet space or space for suitcases. No fridge. Disturbing noises coming from the road... and upstairs. Woke up early, no heavy footsteps... Better to take a room on the 2nd floor. Very good restaurant... always exotic. It remains a good address.

Family-run small hotel, with friendliest staff, excellent food and cosy rooms. We stayed at the gorgeous and recently renovated room 102 and had an excellent experience overall. The staff cannot be more caring and polite. Every aspect of the hotel is properly taken care of. Easy and convenient to reach by car, on a quiet neighbourhood.

Lovely stay at the Romantik. Staff very friendly especially Herr Cam and gentleman on front desk. We attended a family party and the food was very good. Will definitely stay here again when visiting family in the area.

The restaurant at this hotel was amazing and had wonderful two night dinner

What can I say, what a lovely little gem in the countryside just outside of Solingen. Very neat and clean, the building is very well maintained and the rooms are modern, clean and very comfortable. It has a decent air conditioning unit in the room and whilst I was only able to stay for breakfast on the day, the food was superb. If your looking for a "Romantic" getaway, look no further. Highly recommended
