The staff was friendly and helpful, even when I inquired upfront over the phone about pets and electric car charging. The rooms are well-maintained, and the breakfast offers excellent value. Recommended.

We came to Remshied from France to visit family and stayed 5 nights. The staff were friendly but the service in the rooms very poor. The only service we got was a change of towels after we asked for it. No replacement of the coffee capsules or clearing out the bins or refreshing the beds. For a very short stay ok but not 2 nights or more...

A true hidden gem in Remscheid. Nice and modern rooms, a nice breakfast and very friendly staff. I really recommend the Ascot!

Stayed here on a business trip. For business purposes it was fine. It is not near downtown so you will need to drive or take taxis to most places. Rooms were clean and fairly large for European standards but a bit basic. Large tvs but only one channel in English and they have locked the settings so you can’t enable subtitles which was frustrating. However the hallway floors are not carpeted so they transmit a fair amount of noise through the room doors. Staff were polite and helpful although there is no evening service so you will have to call a number for help if you arrive in the evening. No lunch or dinner service but there are a couple of good restaurants in easy walking distance. Breakfast is a buffet which is excellent. Lots of variety, fresh food, and a fresh squeezed orange juice machine. Much better selection than most hotels I have stayed in in Germany. Value will depend on what you pay for your room when you book. I found it quite reasonably priced. And if you want to tour the Cologne area, Remscheid is only 1h15m away by train and you will find hotel prices can be 1/3 of the cost of staying in Cologne itself.
