Although we weren't greeted with a lot of love from the front desk I was happily surprised when we were able to trade our room facing the road to one with a wonderful river and castle view...100% better...Lots of light , quiet and very peaceful.
For news junkies like me CNN was an added bonus.
The restaurant won't be winning any Michelin stars but the wine list featuring many local bottles is impressive. The house white by the glass is delicious and so is the draft Pils style beer.
Parking is available out front and the hotel is dog friendly: Both of these problematic in the old town.
We would happily return.

Fantastic hotel in Meißen. Beautiful scenery and views from the restaurant with fabulous food and lovely local white wine. Very friendly and understanding staff. Very clean and tidy room. Lots of places nearby to visit including the famous "Meissen Porcelain Museum".

Able to switch to a river front room .. very nice and much better than the roadside one. Good beer and wine in the restaurant. Meals ok. Parking and dog friendly a plus. Great views of castle and river.

What a wonderful hotel in a beautiful location! It is located just outside the main city, but driving around or biking is easy in the area. The hotel sits right on the Elbe River and you can take in all the beauty and serenity from the restaurant area. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We will be back!

Well located, nice views of the river, comfortable rooms, friendly staff. Dogs are allowed, at a fair price of 10 euros per night. We will come back
