Romantik Hotel Kieler Kaufmann in Kiel

The food was disappointing, and the service was unfriendly and unprofessional. One staff member in particular, Ms. Petzold, was especially rude. In a restaurant of this level, I would expect both good food and staff who are in a pleasant mood and treat guests respectfully

It was the worst hotel stay of my life. The place was nice and some staff was exceptional but the overall philosophy and whiff of desperation of cash flow issues was palatable. I was asked to pay up front. Obviously, paying a guarantee is normal but to pay up front for a stay was new to me and immediately made me feel unwelcome. The reason given was ‘that they did not know me’ and ‘we had bad experiences before’ did in no way reassure me. When I refused, the management let it be but summoned me to reception a day later at a time when I was dressed in black attire and on a way to a funeral with the taxi waiting. Please mind, I was not checking out and had intended to stay two further days. This shows lack of respect, business sense, customer courteousness and frankly poor taste. The experience disgusted me to the point that I checked out there and then on the day of my mother’s funeral. One additional chocking fact is that the hotel claims to only clean rooms every second day. One the return of my first day my bed had not been made, there were dirty coffee cups and glasses. Not something you expect from a good qu sloth, never mind romantic hotel. The answer: ‘many hotels do this now and it had been marked on a tiny sticker, half peeled off on the bathroom mirror in the hotel room. Again, cost managements to have outweighed the customer experience. The whole experience left a bitter taste and overshadowed what should have been a calming and pleasant experience. The worst hotel I ever stayed in and I travel a lot for both work and pleasure.

When we arrived at the hotel and sew our rooms we thought we where in for a great time........ how wrong we where. The rooms we had was very nice with a connection room for our children which was great. After that it just went down the hill. When we ask the reception to book the restaurant we couldn't because there was a wedding on???? Guess what we still got a table by asking a waiters and told him would not be long in eating, we where given a room menu ??? the food was very good but it would have been nice to have had a pudding aswell ,whice we where never offered. Next morning at booking out we ask if we could have the same rooms again the following week but no as there was another wedding on that day and so they where going to put use in some other rooms whice was lot small then we had and no discount, the thing is the room was still very close to the wedding. We have come to the conclusion that we will never stay there again, what happen to customer service. We are a family who have travelled all over the world, and never have we had sort a bad service. Same on you.
