We had a perfect time in this hotel. Family run with extremely efficient and friendly staff. We had a comfort room. Great size and comfortable. Nicely renovated.
Our tariff was without breakfast, but we had breakfast on the last morning. One of the best breakfasts I've had in a hotel, and we paid 20 euros for this. The good was fresh and plentiful. They also offer free coffee and tea available 24 hours. We also had a mini bar which was included in the price and refilled daily. Location was perfect, just a couple of minutes from the main station and 10 minutes from the old city.
I come from the hotel industry and I have to say that for a 3 star plus hotel, it punched well above it's weight.
They also have a sauna that you can reserve for your own use.
I would use this hotel any time I go back to Lübeck.

Perfectly located, quite, the room was really nice and the staff was lovely. Great breakfast and a quite environment.

Nice public rooms to spend time in during the early morning hours when the rest of the family was sleeping.

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. It's in a great location close to the station and the center. The lobby area is beautiful and calm and even has a play area for children. There is a wonderful sauna area that you can pre-book fre of charge as well that I highly recommend. But the best part is the friendly staff that made the stay very pleasant. This is nowy go to hotel when I visit the city.

A lovely hotel with friendly staff very handy for the railway station. I had a comfortable, clean single room. Plenty buses into town or a 10-15 minute walk. A large choice for breakfast from a buffet and a waffle machine. I was able to leave my bag to head in to town for a bit on the day I left.

I spent two nights at the hotel on business. I arrived at 10pm after a long journey from the UK. Room service only operates from 6pm till 9pm offering sandwiches, in the room there is no tea/coffee making facilities only bottles of water and wine which are not complimentary. Be aware that if you arrive late you may have to find somewhere to eat elsewhere. The hotel is located very close to the train station and close to the centre of the city. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is no restaurant as such in the hotel and breakfast is offered in a dining area. This consists of cold meats, cheeses, bread and fruit. There is a bar which I cannot comment on as I did not use it. The rooms are clean and basic. The views can be a little restricted by the flags hanging outside of the hotel (I'll try an attach a pic of my view), All in all a good bed and breakfast rather than a hotel, ok for business but not so much for pleasure.

I stayed 2 nights in Hotel Lindenhof on each end of a long ferry trip to Helsinki. The location is perfect, as the train station is 3 blocks to the Hotel, with the bus stop (to the ferry terminal) in between. Then the surprise of such a lovely historic town with a festival underway the evening I first arrived. The Hotel is a gem, with warm family feel, great breakfast buffet, and a free sauna. Staff are wonderful. My room was a bit tight for a 6 footer, but had a window that opens, which I like.

The hotel is located very good, on a 5-10 min. walk to the old town. It is a little difficult to find a hotel parking lot. The hotel is on a one -way street, and the entrance to the courtyard is passing the hotel's entrance. Staff very kind. Everything was very good. The price may be for a 3-star hotel a little too high, but as well 4 stars could be given to this lovely hotel.

After reading the reviews we decided to book this Hotel for 1 night on our way back from Rugen. We were happy with it up to the moment we were shown our room : a smoking room. The stench was horrible! We could not breathe! We went straight away back to the reception and asked to be given a non smoking room, as per our request at the time of booking. The receptionist (very friendly) said that they did not have any non smoking rooms available, but that we could have a look at another smoking room to see if it was better. It was slightly better and without option, we took it. We left our luggage and went out to visit the city. Later that night, we realised that with closed windows it was impossible to breathe: the room and bed smelled like a man who smoked the whole day long! It seemed to us that the bed sheets had not been changed , from the smell and also from few hairs we found on the bed...It was really disgusting! I can not say anything about the non smoking rooms, but if you hate cigarettes, make sure to have it confirmed at the time of your booking: in written! We were wondering what happened to the great Hotel from the reviews? Was it really just bad luck?

I stayed in the hotel while I was travelling around Germany. I stayed in a single. The room was small (I would even call it tiny) but really cosy. You have everything you need including a hair-dryer, a TV, a safe and a free wifi. Breakfast is included in the price and it was really superb: a buffet with lots of meat, fish, cheese, fruit and yougurt. The staff was really friendly: I got all the necessary assistance. The best thing in the hotel is its favourable location: just between the railway station and the bus station and the city centre. The city is not large but very beautiful. You can explore it either on foot or hire a bike in the hotel. A small drawback - it doesn't have a swimming pool. However, there is a public swimming pool not far from the hotel.

Honestly it's hard to take the glowing reviews seriously after having stayed there.

Bullet points of why staying elsewhere might be better

*Have to leave your room key and pick it up at the front desk- no autonomy or key cards (key cannot leave premises)
*Service wasn't friendly, but rather self righteous
*Room wasn't super clean- many obvious places were, but the radiator for instance where the towels hang was dusty and look at the dirty sticky hair dryer that doesn't even function
* No climate control and windows have no screens to keep bugs out if you have the windows open

From the Moment i walked in there was attitude at the front desk about my bicycle even though I cleared it over the phone as that was a main criteria for my stay.

The person on the phone didn't mention a special protocol for bicycle storage, yet upon walking in with my spotless (hasn't been ridden since being detailed) bike I was greated with a , "what do you think you're doing with that bike?" from an elder lady and NOT "let me show you to our bike room" or something hospitable.

I've stayed at hotels where I paid five times the cost of a room here and walked my bike right into the lobby to smiles and "right this way sir"

The follow up service was no better but after a huge trip I just wanted to eat and sleep, so we stayed.

Would Gladly have paid a few euros more and stayed at a hotel that was up to date, properly cleaned, and with happy employees.
