A true oasis of peace and beauty in Sylt – an unforgettable experience
I had the pleasure of staying at the Watthof Hotel Sylt for four days, and I can only describe it as an extraordinary experience in every way.
The hotel is surrounded by nature, nestled between the sea and tranquility, and immediately conveys a deep sense of well-being. The building is eco-friendly, meticulously maintained, tastefully and elegantly furnished, spotlessly clean, and incredibly welcoming. Every space exudes harmony and thoughtful attention to detail.
The rooms are bright, quiet, and decorated in a refined yet understated style that invites relaxation. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the view of the surrounding landscape made the stay even more special.
The staff are kind, professional, and always available. A special thank you goes to Mr. Uwe, Mrs. Uli, and their daughter Kim—people of rare courtesy and sensitivity, who run the Watthof with passion and impeccable professionalism. It’s clear they put their heart into what they do, and that truly makes a difference.
Breakfast was simply delicious: fresh, local products with a wide variety of sweet and savory options, served in a bright room overlooking the peaceful landscape.
If you're looking to relax completely, I highly recommend the spa: small but beautifully designed, with a sauna and treatments that rejuvenate both body and mind.
The surrounding area is also worth exploring: long walks along the beach, sunsets over the North Sea, bike rides, and the unmistakable charm of Sylt all make every day a pleasure.
I would recommend staying here at least once in your life—not just for the hotel itself, but for everything that surrounds it. Nature, the sea, genuine hospitality, and authentic human warmth.

The Hotel Watthof is a small, fine hotel with a great deal of flair, hospitality, and attention to detail. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would gladly return. A well-coordinated team helped ensure everything ran smoothly, and we had someone to contact at all times.

Nestled directly by the sea in Rantum is the quaint and elegant Hotel Watthof. The thatched-reed roof architecture is charming and the white house gives it a fairytale appearance. I was personally greeted by one of the family members and owners of the hotel upon arrival and check-in. Immediately I felt at home and was guided around the exclusive property. It has 10 private rooms some with balconies and private sea views. There is an all inclusive Sauna and Steam Bath, parking for bikes and cars, a breathtaking terrace with sea views for relaxing in the sun or having a nice glass of fine Italian wine. They also have premium concierge services that will gladly guide you through your entire island stay.
The Italian style breakfast is fantastico, including freshly cut fruits, fresh squeezed juices and island farm fresh eggs made to order. The tables have direct views to the water or interior seating.
Rooms are premium/upscale, beds are extremely comfortable, floor heating in bathrooms, stylish beach modern decor, wifi inclusive. There is also a small bar and lounge area where you can relax or grab drinks. Also the hotel is in walking distance of some of the best restaurants on Sylt. Warm welcome, great location on the mudflats, rooms with a view of the mudflats, lovingly furnished, everything has been thought of.

We have now been to the Watthof repeatedly to go on vacation and it was again very nice and relaxing. Very nice ambience, rooms designed with a lot of heart, pleasant and warm staff with always open ears for wishes and a great location. We were definitely not there for the last time!
