Heated pool was lovely. Bedrooms we're spacious. The curtains did not block hardly any light. Overall it was a nice location. A lot of the forest surrounded the area is suffering from sort of blight.

The beds are incredibly hard. I tossed and turned all night and was glad every morning when the night was over. Unfortunately, sleeping with the window open is also not possible, as the tranquility of the Thuringian Forest is interrupted by the exhaust system in the service wing. There is no air conditioning or ventilation in the rooms. The swimming pool is OK. The sauna works. Unfortunately, the steam bath was broken. The hotel, like the one in Heubach, is owned by a Turkish businessman. The chef is also of Arab descent. This means that there is no pork at all. The food/buffet also has an oriental touch. If you are looking for good, traditional Thuringian cuisine, you have come to the wrong place. However, there is always fresh lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers. The lunch menu is not worth the €9. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. In summary: OK for a sporty weekend of hiking or skiing. Not suitable for a longer relaxing holiday.

We have seen the ad of this hotel on the booklet of Lidl Reisen. The price was reasonable and we booked a week long vacation during Autumn holidays. I loved the place: in the forest 🌳 and very quite. The hotel rooms are very clean and the staff is very friendly.
The food was good: we had buffet options in the mornings and in the evenings. The whole day we were able to drink 🍹. At 15:30 we had coffee and cake 🍰. There were different varieties of food (with meat and vegetarian) and the staff refills all the food very fast.
The only problem was not availability of children’s room. But still kids enjoyed the nature and had amazing time.

The hotel is awarded 2 of 5 because of the fantastic position. The hotel itself is a little outdated but OK and I have no complaints. The problem is the service that is worse than awful. If you want to get your room cleaned, you have to kindly ask at reception for cleaning the next day (I am not joking). Breakfast: If you do not arrive to breakfast among the first you get leftovers. Lunch: You take dogy bag from breakfast if you arrived early enough to get something. Dinner: You can always get something, but do not be picky. At bar you can drink from 11.00 to 18.00, but you have to find someone to serve you since nobody is at the bar. In the whole hotel from morning to late evening I only counted 3 waiters for the whole week we were there. I do not know how many hours per day they work. The bar is then officially closed to 20.00. If you wish to sit in the bar area you should arrive at 19.00 because afterwards everything is full. To get drinks you have to wait in line in front of empty bar because drinks are not prepared at the bar but somewhere in the back. They take some orders and return from back somewhere after a while with the orders. They are ordered to take their time since they offer all-inclusive and do not want guests to drink too much. For conclusion I did not believe that such a terrible service could be found in Germany.
