Convenient location right across the train station. Nice breakfast. Beautiful gardens. Room can be a little hot without AC.
All this is what you might expect at this price level. As usual, there is some fine print when it comes to practicalities. First off, our room had no separating door toward the bathroom other than a laughable glass sliding door. So, be prepared for some early wake-up light on a summer morning. This also contributes to the terrible heat management on hot days: Despite our best efforts to keep the curtains drawn and open the windows at night, the temperature rarely dropped much below 30°C. There’s also precious little space in the bathroom to put things (though the shower is generously sized) and to put your shoes, and the writing desk had no power outlet. Funny enough, the minibar seemed to take a summer vacation too, as its temperature dropped just barely below room temperature (yes, it was on). Minor things, but then again, this is not a hostel.
Generally a nice place to stay in Bad Kissingen, not too far from its center. We didn’t get to try the hotel’s sauna (there was no pool; so we took a walk to the spa center uphill.)
So much more than I was expecting- a delightful stay with bonus bikes and yoga, lovely staff and exquisite food
