Sabina Hotel in Theologos

Ugly bathrooms, small shower with curtain.
No insect net at the balcony. It can get really hot at night, even tough if you could sleep with the balcony open it will be cold at night. But nooo, no nets because they want you to pay for the air conditioning. The breakfast is kind of poor and they have like this "english" stuff nobody wants at breakfast: beans, cooked vegetables and other lunch like suflé things. Not really much else to choose from tomatoes, paprika, cucumbers, bread, egs, green simple olives, some feta cheese, and 3 kind of pastry and some jams. The glasses are really small and don't start me about the plates. The pool is ok, a little old to with weird design. Loungers are ok but with dirty mattresses. The rest of the garden is kind of deserted - as the rest of the town. Instead of seeing the sea from the main view you see a neglected crumbled building that use to be some sort of restaurant. The beach is rocky, steep, windy, not for swimming. On the left you have the power plant. Sometimes you can smell the itching pollution. The food from the hotel restaurant it's ok. It would be a nice hotel with some more investment, but the place itself shouldn't be touristic. The town is almost deserted. Theologos is 5 km away but also poor and deserted. Don't get me wrong, I kind of like it, because it feels nice, but you still have to pay 10 euro for a greek salad in this forsaken place. You don't have many options for restaurants. Billy's Place is the nicest and has a good menu and also number smoothies - A rare thing in this island ! Conclusion: the hotel it's not what you see in the pictures and what you expect, but it's a reasonable price I guess. Even though I always believe that the standards should be the same no matter the price, so GET UP AND PUT SOME EFFORT IN THAT PLACE, GREEK DUDE!

Hotel is basic but nice, clean, breakfast is ok you can choose something decent. Unfortunately the main issues is the plane sounds passing above, making the experience not so relaxing, we had to sleep with ear plugs. It depends on what sleep you have or how sensitive you are.
Also there is a power plant that smells a little funny sometimes and the hotel is a bit isolated from anything or you have some distance to the markets/restaurants and you really need a car.
Again about the hotel:
- There where no clothing airers on the balconies to dry towels and swimwear.
- I was also disappointed that i had to pay extra for the AC
- That one of the receptionist were not so empathic when my husband asked for a boiled egg and a toast for me from what remains from the kitchen @11 o'clock ( i wasn't feeling well in our first morning there and could not get up out of bed, i even got to the hospital) I had to take some medicine, and he was told to check at the bar. The breakfast usual finishes and people are leaving the breakfast are even up to 10:30, so it was just no intention or any kindness to help us.
- On the other hand, AC started to drip water and they remediate the issue pretty fast
In case you find yourself at this hotel, recommend the beach next to Sabina, Alex's beach bar - 8 eur for 2 sunbeds and a lot of shadow. has a lot of stones but with water shoes it's fine. And the best beach nearby for admiring sunset and nice sand is Fanes beach (Paralia Fanes).
