Pythagóreion
Description
Pithagorio, is the second village on the island of Samos, after the capital of the island 12 km from it. The city is known as a convenient and well-developed resort, where there are a lot of local attractions. The ancient port of Pythagorio is considered the first port ever built by human hands in the Mediterranean, and is repeatedly mentioned in the "History" of Herodotus. The village was formerly the capital of Samos, the powerful commercial and political centre of the Aegean sea.
