Pearl of Caldera Oia - Boutique Hotel by Pearl Hotel Collection in Oia

The hotel is located almost at the bottom of the hill. So it is physically challenging to walk with luggage or even without luggage. The first thing I noticed when I got in the room was this weird smell. When I asked about the smell, I was told “it’s from the wind and all the hotels smell like that.” Not true! There were molds all over the bathroom wall. The room has not been maintained properly. There are cracks and rustic metal.
Since it was a non refundable booking, we couldn't change to other hotels and had to breath the mold the whole time we stayed.
I booked the deluxe room which happened to be next to the check in area. There is no privacy at all. People from other rooms come to eat breakfast in front of your room. If you try to sleep longer, you can’t because of the noise. You hear the guests and hotel staff conversation. Breakfast is just a joke. They provide very small portions with very little options. When we checked out the hotel manager told us we have to pay 10 Euro for each carry-on bag if we need help going up the stairs. We paid since we didn't want to fall off the cliff like I said it's physically challenging to walk up let alone with luggage. Also, they would tell you if you need a transfer, it would be 55 euro otherwise outside is more expensive. Actually it’s 40 euro outside. I highly suggest you avoid this hotel because it’s a nightmare and a health hazard both the mold and the hill. The quality of the room is lower than a motel. See pic
