Maria's Place - Adults Only in Oia

Was my stay perfect? Not quite. The hot tub on my balcony never really warmed up and the shower was a bit cold. However, that is where the negatives stop. I cannot give Maria’s Place anything less than 5* , becuase Anna, the host, is the most friendly, charming and helpful lady. Every morning at breakfast I watched her greet guests with an enthusiastic “good morning!” as if we were staying in her own home. The breakfast selection was a generous continental selection. Some of the pastries were very good. The view from all corners of the hotel is outstanding. You could easily spend a day lounging around the pool given it’s phenomenal sea views, but I didn’t have time to sunbathe as I was out and about exploring the island. My room had everything I needed, and the view from the balcony was fantastic. Maria’s Place is around a 20 minute walk from the centre of Oia, but I would dare anyone to complain about the walk given the stunning caldera and sea views throughout. There is also a supermarket at the end of the road leading to the hotel (5 minute walk) which is open until 11pm. A genuinely lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings.

About a km walk (about 15 mins) from the main bus station - we didn't realise that there was a bus stop just outside Maria's place that we could have used. The breakfast here was amazing, the golden sultanas steeped in honey along with walnuts on top of Greek yoghurt was to die for. Sadly Oia was too hot and too busy (even in September) for us - but the breakfast alone is worth coming back for.

Amazing location - close to Oia. Beautiful, peaceful property - adults only. Anna - the manager was amazing, friendly and helpful. She set us up on a great private car tour to other end of island - driver was Armando - he speaks good English, is friendly and handsome. The breakfasts at the hotel were great. Lots of cats in dining room but there is food put down for them and they were well behaved.

Staying here was the best decision we could have made. It’s slightly “off pitch” so very peaceful. It was very Homely in the best possible way. Very personal service and treated as an individual rather than a client! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we felt like part of a family (not meant to sound cliched in any way). It was a 10 minute walk to the start of the “*****” . It is also a very short walk to Finikia where there are some great restaurants ( we ate in both Krinaki and Meze Meze and really enjoyed both) We received some great recommendations for island tours and restaurants and had some great experiences. If we go back to Oia we would not contemplate staying anywhere else!

I do not think anything I could write would do the justice this place deserves. A hidden gem just between Finika and Oia, both walkable. Anna and the rest of the team were amazing. Cleanliness outstanding, breakfast enough and Anna was always on hand to answer any questions. She arrange an amazing boat trip with Barbarosa Sailing which we would say was a must. Well done Maria's Place and thank you for amazing memories which will never be forgotten.

I stayed for 3 nights and this is the perfect location if you want to walk 5 minutes into Oia without being in all the craziness. This does have a full kitchen but I did not use it. The bed was comfortable and had a nice bathroom. The entire place was sparking clean. Breakfast had a full Greek and American spread. I was very impressed with it. Anna was extremely helpful in arranging anything that we needed including transportation to and from the airport. We had an amazing view of the sunset from the pool chairs. We preferred this over to fighting the crowds in Oia to watch the sunset. There are 2 grocery stores within 2 minutes walk and we bought sparking wine and other beverages to drink on our porch to save a little money rather than drinking at the bars.

The best place to stay in Santorini. Anna is an absolutely incredible host -she takes the time to sit down and map out the best places to go, eat, and experiences to have. She called us cars, helped with rentals, etc.

All around, no better place to stay. Quick walk to Oia, wonderful morning breakfast, clean, and unmatched service.

It’s been said nearly 100 times, but we experienced all of the wonderfulness you read about here in the reviews: Anna and Kostas are welcoming and run a wonderful hotel. Anna’s skills are above and beyond what you’d expect at hotels twice the price. She’s knowledgeable about the area and the options and listens to guide you to suggestions for your time in Santorini if you’re interested. Breakfast is beautiful, fresh, and has something for everyone. We were delighted beyond expectations even after reading all of the great reviews. And an amazing sunset from our balcony!

Maria's Place (or more like Anna's Place) was awesome. The units were spacious, private, and clean. It also had an AIR CONDITIONER and Wi-Fi. The hotel had a nice clean pool and plenty of comfortable lounge chairs to soak up the Santorini sun. At night there is an amazing view of the sunset that others line the streets to see. There is also a breakfast available every morning that is well worth it.

Regardless what really made this spot stand out is Anna's, the woman who runs the hotel. She was incredibly nice and really made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. She helped set up rides from and to the airport, made dinner reservations, accommodated for a food allergy and was just generally very pleasant.

Overall this hotel exceeded all of our expectations and I strongly recommend staying. You won't regret it.
