Bambara Hotel in Felsotarkany

I stayed at the hotel for 1 night for a business event. Previously I knew nothing about the establishment, not even that it was African themed. I was blown away when I stepped in and saw that not only was it tastefully executed (since I'm half African, I can tell), but when I saw the quality and attention to detail previously unknown to me in Hungary. I've been to Hungarian 5 star hotels that didn't match the level of Bambara.

The interior design, the color palette, the quality of materials, fixtures were amazing, every little detail thought of. Staff was competent and kind, food was amazing, and the wellness section was different from the standard things (with the cave pool and the shower huts, etc.).

The hotel is also very well tailored to families with small children. There are live meerkats and kangaroos, a maze in the garden, and the large and elaborate playground has to be the best I've ever seen, including the "cypher towers" where children can learn the basics of encryption by sending coded messages to each other.

All in all: this has to be the most beautiful hotel in Hungary. I only have two warnings: people who prefer environments without young children might find it is very largely populated by families with babies/young kids. And the hotel is located at a place where there is not much to do except to be at the hotel. Yes, there is a narrow gauge railway and forest to hike in, but - in the context of Hungary - this is nothing special. The hotel is the main attraction.

Highly recommended. They run a perfect kitchen, super spa and very attentive service. The panorama jacuzzi in Szahel Spa really worth a visit. Valentine Day's Sauna Sessions with Richárd were also remarkable. I'd love to return someday.

Great hotel for families, unique African themed design. Lots of things to do, especially liked the outside of the hotel, unique playgrounds surrounded by trees and greenery. Food is high quality as well.
Two cons: most information is in Hungarian and some rooms are only accessible with stairs.

It's a nice hotel. It's family-oriented, but couples are also catered to (we had a separate restaurant area). Overall, it would have been a nice experience, but some of the extra prices make you think differently.

I have rarely been so impressed by a resort hotel. Seemingly every detail was considered and well- designed, seemingly sparing no cost. The food, the service, the facilities were all beyond excellent. Lots of activities for families, and special areas just for adults. The spa was one of the top ones I’ve visited in Hungary. Beautifully designed and executed, down to the lighting, materials, and variety. (Perhaps the gőzfürdő could have been hotter, and a dedicated plunge pool, but this is just nitpicking on my part based on personal preferences that not everyone shares).

Honestly I can’t recommend this place enough, especially as a respite from busy city life. It was a constant delight.

Nem csak a nevében prémium. A szoba rendezett, tiszta volt, a személyzet kedves, a reggeli és a vacsora pedig lenyűgöző. A wellness részleg is nagyon klassz, megfelelő számú medencével és jó szaunavilággal. Az egyetlen negatívum az ára, magyar viszonylatban azért erősen húzós. Not only premium in its name. The room was nice and clean, the staff was friendly and the food at breakfast and dinner was amazing. The spa is also great with enough pools and a nice sauna world. The only negative part is the price, in Hungary these prices are very high.

This Hotel is amazing, we loved every single thing. The hotel and the room's interior was really cool, incredibly atmospheric, clean and best quality from everything: all the provided cosmetics as well as the furnitures, towels etc. in the room. The food was very special, very very delicious, for dinner and for breakfast as well there was a huge variety of excellent menu. The beach bar served great food as well during lunchtime. The wellness section was pretty good, as well as the sauna, the guy who coordinated the seance was really funny and professional. As my parents had a wedding anniversary, the hotel booked a separate table and prepared with romantic decoration, it was really nice of them ＜3 The massage was also great, the booking was easy. The best is that every single person from the staff was really nice, helpful, kind and respectful, which was amazing. They provide great events for kids, but at the same time, they focus on people who don't go with kids as well, so everyone can enjoy a wonderful time. We will go back, that's for sure! I can absolutely recommend this place for everyone.

We have spent 2 nights/3 days , family with a 12 years old girl. It is definitely a child friendly hotel. The hotel has a courtyard with large playing area for kids, a terrace, a labyrinth with kangaroos to visit. On the inner courtyard of the hotel lives a marketeer family. Almost the entire staff is very friendly and helpful, food is plenty/varied. The place is furnished in African style. Beds are super comfortable, room size is ok, it was clean, modern with a very small terrace too. There are day time programs for kids, playing areas,indoor and outdoor playing corners. The hotel has several outdoor pools for all ages, and indoor wellness with pool, saunas, massage everything for the clients comfort. They have a specially created parking facility, where there is plenty of space for cars free of charge.

A perfect place for relaxation with saunas, steam cabin, cave bath and a kid-free wellness area. After 8pm you can rent a hot tub on the roof, an unforgettable experience under the stars. The stuff is helpful - the first day the heating in our room did not work and we were given a radiator, the next morning the problem was solved. The food is plentiful, including African dishes.

I have been to this hotel twice with the love of my life. This hotel has a really special place in my heart, because my husband proposed to me here. The staff was really helpful with the organisation of the event and we even got a nice decor for free. This hotel is not only individual, because of its main theme, but also for the wide variety of extra services it offers for the smallerst ones and for the adults. This is the only hotel in Hungary, as I have experienced so far, that is absolutely suitable for all generations.
There are also fun programmes for the hotel guest every day, so your stay will be truly colorful.
I fully recommend it.
