The guesthouse is located right on the edge of the village of Blonduos. So, if you'd like a nice view, choose a sea-view room. Dinner can be enjoyed as a communal meal in the main building (advance reservation required) and consists of three courses, which we found very tasty. We stayed in a room with a private bathroom in the annex. The bathroom was small but very clean. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is good (delicious bread, but no hot egg dishes). The staff was very friendly and gave us some tips for excursions (thank you, Magda – the café in the Akureyri Botanical Garden is fantastic). The guesthouse is an excellent choice if you're traveling on the Ring Road and don't want to drive all the way to Akureyri.

One of our favorite places in Iceland. We loved the concept of the guesthouse as we got to meet a lot of other friendly and interesting guests. We had dinner at the guesthouse and it was phenomenal, in a beautiful dining room with a view of the sea. Breakfast was also good - a wide selection of various cold breakfast items. Our room (for the 4 of us) was very comfortable. There are two shared bathrooms in the main guesthouse but we didn't have an issue with that. Wi fi is also provided although there were a few times I had to go into the living room to get a connection.

We stayed here for 1 night and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The guest house is so charming , lovely and tastefully done. The room is spacious and very nice feel to it. Their staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend having dinner here because they have a 3 course meal which is very good and all their guests sit together and eat together. So you end up chatting with people from all over the world who are touring Iceland. I would highly recommend staying here 1 night while you’re touring around Iceland.

This guesthouse, situated right on the wild north Atlantic coast, was our favourite place to stay on this trip. Our room was big, super comfortable, quiet, decorated with style and care, and had a stunning view. The dinner was incredible--also our best meal--generous and delicious. We really enjoyed the family-style dining room and meeting the other tourists. It was a perfect place to stay and we wish we could have stayed longer.

My wife and I stayed at Brimslod for just the one night. The communal dinner was a great concept and we enjoyed it. The view at dinner was beautiful overlooking the water. Can I say though that dinner was more like a nice home cooked meal rather than the gourmet experience I was expecting. Our room was comfortable, quite large and clean but did not have a view. Breakfast was OK but certainly not the best we'd had in Iceland. We only chatted briefly to our hostess Elin who was obviously very busy cooking for a lot of people. She seemed very nice though as were the other staff we spoke to. Overall this place is very nice but I just think it need to be a level up for what you are paying.

Absolutely beautiful hotel located right beside the ocean. The breakfast area is so wonderfully decorated and offers a massive window that provides incredible views of the ocean. Breakfast was fabulous; it included a wide variety of meats (included smoked salmon), jams, bread, cereal, etc. Our room was cozy with a very modern bathroom, a couch, and beautifully furnished. We really loved the attention to detail. All the staff were so friendly and inviting, it made us feel right at home.

Very nice couple who own the guesthouse. We had a 3 course dinner which was delicious and cooked by the owners. Breakfast was also very good. Our room was very big and comfortable. The shared bathroom was also very big and it worked out very well for everyone. Thank you so much!

Very beautiful place at the ocean, rooms decorated nicely creating a feeling of cozyness. We stayed at the old house right from the main building, had our own bathroom and balcony. We were even able to see aurora at night. Unforgettable experience. Breakfast was delicious, the banana cake with chocolate chip definitely a highlight. However, after traveling around Iceland for 10 days and receiving warm welcome from all people we met on the way we were very disappointed by the personnel at the Brimslod Guesthouse. at rare times that we encountered Pierre and the owners they made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. we asked for more coffee at breakfast and never received it. we asked for the wine glasses in the evening to enjoy our wine while watching aurora, the request was simply ignored. if you are going there for experience, you don't want it
