The hotel is very quiet, the front desk service is enthusiastic, the rental car broke down, the hotel front desk patiently helped to contact the car rental company, the room is quiet, very clean, the yard is large. The breakfast is very rich.

If you need a place to stay one night on the round trip of Iceland, from Akureyri back to Reykjavik, Laugarbakki is the choice. Hotel choices are limited. This one is probably a reasonable choice. Hotel is big and nice, as not really in a city centre, so the light pollution is not strong there, had the best northern light experience right in next to the hotel.

This hotel is located in a very quaint town and the hotel in an excellent location. We got a room overlooking the ocean. The person making the desk was extremely nice and very hospitable. The rooms were clean and the linens were of good quality. The bathrooms were clean. The hotel could do with a bit of maintenance and could expand the breakfast a bit specially for vegans

The hotel itself is older, however it was very clean! Our room was freshly painted and also had new flooring. The shower had really good water pressure. All the water smells strongly like sulfur but that’s normal and to be expected for the area. The staff was extremely accommodating! We stayed there three noghts and we have absolutely nothing to complain about. The rooms are pretty and clean, the services absolutely fine and the receptionists are so nice and willing to help with or advise anything one might need.

Don’t take any notice of other reviews! Iceland accommodation is limited at best of times!! This is a very small town and I can promise for the price you will not be disappointed. It’s very modern, clean, staff super friendly 24hr receptionist. One of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in!! Stay here then go to the KK restaurant in town.

Relaxed youth hostel style hotel with plenty of camping spots available. Beautiful peaceful surroundings including a horse farm and the lake. Amenities are not ideal but great super friendly service makes up for it. Highly recommended to camp here.

We just loved it. The room they gave us was completly renewed and everything was very clean and Preston's. The staff is very gentle. The outside heated pool and jacuzzi were so good! Highly recommended!

Beautiful discovery of this historic hotel in Saudarkrokur. Staff very attentive to their guests, impeccable breakfast in a beautiful restaurant room. Our Icelandic trip was even more beautiful thanks to this place. We will return.

Friendly staff, especially the young man with the scarf (he kindly knocked on all doors to inform that northern lights are visible), good breakfast, rooms are old but ok, shower wasnt clean and the water did run off very slow. After reading the references here, I would like to add my experience. The place is just fine. Self check-in works, breakfast is served. The WiFi works in the main building, there are cool chairs with beautiful view. The rooms were clean, the furniture is a bit older but who cares. We stayed here just for one night and it was a good choice on the way from Akureyri to West Fjords. So don't worry about...

Nice acommodation with an amazing view. There was plenty of space for 4 people, the beds were confortable and the floor heating very pleasant.

Beautiful location! Just a hop off of the Ring Road. Apartment was very clean with several nice touches such as coffee/tea/juice. The view was fantastic. We enjoyed watching the horses and sheep from the large windows facing the water.

This is a great place to stay. The views are amazing and it's located just outside the village. Making it nice and quiet but also easy to go to the supermarket. The breakfast was served as well and was very extensive with different breads, toppings and fruits. They even gave us a toy tractor and a sled for our son to play with. We will definitely stay here again when visiting North Iceland!

We booked last minute at 46 because the roads weren’t easy that day to keep driving and it’s located in a cute town where the seals dwell. The house was toasty to welcome us on a snowstorm night, thanks! If your preference is a colder temperature, this is easy to adjust by opening the window. The hosts Steinbjorn and Eva-Lena were very friendly and have the cutest dogs. There was a lot of food provided for the breakfast: bread, jams, juices, sauces, tea and coffee. We were the only guests so the place was very quiet. We had an amazing seaview in our room and from the living room. There were many board games, cards and books available for guests.

Beautiful property! We really enjoyed the dogs and horses, and taking a walk around the property. The hosts were wonderful, and gave us great advice on things to do while in Iceland.

This is a farm, far away from everything. So bring your own food and satellite dish for the evening hours (just a kitchen for your own food, wifi only in the shared room)... Or just concentrate on social activities (dogs, board games, looking for the northern lights, jacuzzi).

Very nice rooms with a comfortable community space including a well stocked kitchen which is always open. There is no dinner available and the included breakfast is typical. There is a tractor trail through the woods and down to the river. The hosts sat a MF answered our many questions about raising sheep and their way of life. Very nice.

A superb view on the sea and the little island just in the front of the hotel. All around behind the hotel you can see the mountains. The room was perfect. There is also a hot bathroom outside ! Stunning location & great staff! We stayed at Lónkot 3 nights and enjoyed it very much. The location is one of a kind, with a beautiful view of Drangey and the sea. Our room had everything we needed and the beds were super comfy. We also dined at the restaurant and very much enjoyed how they used local produce. They even have their own hot pool which is just what you need after a day of sightseeing...

Wonderful cottages with an abundance of supplies provided such as salt, pepper and baking oil. The view is marvellous as the cottages are located isolated from the main roads. This is also a minor downside as it takes a while to go to any tourism spots. Would recommend.

A great accommodation. The cabin has all the amenities you can imagine. Around 7:00 p.m. the animals return to the farm and you can enjoy a while with the goats and the horses.

Very, very small rooms, the kitchen is well equipped, but there is not enough space to sit down to eat when it is fully booked. WiFi is available in the room and there is a large TV in the common room. The whirlpool in front of the house can be let in on request and is awesome. The breakfast buffet is sufficient, but not extensive.

I found it extremely expensive considering what they offer: a tiny, den-like bedroom with a common bathroom where you can hear everything happening in your neighbor room, and I suppose vice-versa? 😐 I wouldn't book this place a second time nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Excellent guesthouse with 5 rooms and 2 shared baths. Full kitchen facility and hot tub included. Horse back riding could be arranged. Breakfast was in refrigerator but it worked out well even with several people eating at same time. Room was comfortable and bath was good power and heat. WiFi worked well. Never met the owner but the setup was so good, didn't need to!

We LOVED our stay here. The place was so clean and we met wonderful people from Montreal. We made our dinner there and the place was well appointed for cooking from scratch. Very clean accommodation. 2 shared toilets/bathrooms that were big and clean. The kitchen is equipped with toaster and oven and a good variety of food for meals. Unfortunately, wifi did not work on the day we checked in. Staff took a while to come over to inspect the problem but could not resolve it.

We loved staying at this property! The quietness was lovely. The fridge was stocked for breakfast which was appreciated and the hot tub was wonderful after many days of hikes. The only small issue was trying to contact the property. I was not able to use my phone to call and the property does not respond to messages, but a wonderful place to stay and would highly recommend!

It was a beautiful cottage with a river view. They had all the amenities we needed at a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this place to families travelling with children.

Charming cabin within the sound of a rushing river. Peaceful despite being part of a larger campground, check in and out were very easy. We only stayed one night so did not get to use either the indoor sauna or back deck hot tub. A little tight for five adults, so if you stay longer than a night or two I don’t recommend a full complement of six.

Stayed at Gladheimar in one of the, one bedroom cabins. Great clean, comfortable and functional self catering facilities, with amenities within walking distance if required. Very helpful owner and Wifi within the cabin great as well, recommend a stay here if travelling in the area

It's ok, but needs some renovation. The rooms are clean, the beds ok. But the shower.... But there is a sauna and a hot pot.

I had a pleasant stay here! The shared showers were a bit of a culture shock as a young woman from the US but the facilities provided were great. So be advised to shower with others. The toilet rooms were clean and located in the center of the haul allowing easy access. Bed was very comfortable! Plenty of outlets and a sink with a cup in room was lovely. I appreciate the hospitality!
