Still an ok hotel. Very practical. Good for a few nights and affordable. Nice location in the old town of Blonduos. Facing the sea. Near the restaurant and cafe and the old Blonduos church
Very typical hotel, certainly not the most fancy you'll find but very standard in Iceland.
Rooms are clean and very functional (with good beds). Breakfast is very good.
However the hotel is making the difference in the services provided by the staff and the manager. We were advised to go to a very good African restaurant nearby. Reservation was made by the hotel personnel. Restaurants are in the next...
This hotel is located in a very quaint town and the hotel in an excellent location. We got a room overlooking the ocean. The person making the desk was extremely nice and very hospitable. The rooms were clean and the linens were of good quality. The bathrooms were clean. The hotel could do with a bit of maintenance and could expand the breakfast a bit specially for vegans
nice receptionist and quiet place....very natural place since some mosquitos and flies can fly into bedroom even all door and Windows were closed..
The hotel itself is older, however it was very clean! Our room was freshly painted and also had new flooring. The shower had really good water pressure. All the water smells strongly like sulfur but that’s normal and to be expected for the area. The staff was extremely accommodating! Everyone wanted to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. The manager gave us a lot of really great recommendations...
Very quiet little hotel right by the coast. Rooms were decent and breakfast was average.

We received a room upgrade on the spot, which was lovely!🤩 plus, they offered us the hot outdoors jacuzzi where we spotted the best aurora borealis of our lives 🌌
Relaxed youth hostel style hotel with plenty of camping spots available. Beautiful peaceful surroundings including a horse farm and the lake. Amenities are not ideal but great super friendly service makes up for it. Highly recommended to camp here.
We just loved it. The room they gave us was completly renewed and everything was very clean and Preston's. The staff is very gentle. The outside heated pool and jacuzzi were so good! Highly recommended!
The real thing, not too fancy but simple and very likable
The large room, the hospitality, the home made food, the view, a must for night over.
Very nice camping area with great facility and view

It was a beautiful cottage with a river view. They had all the amenities we needed at a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this place to families travelling with children.
Charming cabin within the sound of a rushing river. Peaceful despite being part of a larger campground, check in and out were very easy. We only stayed one night so did not get to use either the indoor sauna or back deck hot tub. A little tight for five adults, so if you stay longer than a night or two I don’t recommend a full complement of six.
Stayed at Gladheimar in one of the, one bedroom cabins. Great clean, comfortable and functional self catering facilities, with amenities within walking distance if required. Very helpful owner and Wifi within the cabin great as well, recommend a stay here if travelling in the area
It was wonderful! The landscape, the peace, force of nature, and of course the awesome cottage, with hot tub and everything you might need! The Host and all personnel is very kind and gentle. Everything was perfect. Thanks a lot Gladheimar!!
It's ok, but needs some renovation. The rooms are clean, the beds ok. But the shower....
But there is a sauna and a hot pot.
My experience:
-very cozy
-no free wifi
-beds are okish and there is lots of them (6 or 7)
-great hot tub.

Best place we have stayed so far. Clean, friendly, really good supper and free breakfast. Waffles with homemade cream. Awsome showers. You are able to fill thermos with hot water. Bigger rooms. Pool table, music in back ground with sun pouring in front window. Nice spot
Good room, no common area where you can eat own food, OK breakfast.
The hotel was fun, close to some attractions. The bead and rooms were clean and the shared bathroom was clean as well. Hostess was polite and very nice.
It is a bit dated and retro but in our opinion it was a great stay. Would visit again .
A bit run down in general, but still a comfortable stay.
Super friendly staff (from Lithuania) catered to our specific needs.
Dinner in the restaurant was OK and actually affordable.
Rooms were neat and clean. Same for the shared bathroom.

Friendly staff, especially the young man with the scarf (he kindly knocked on all doors to inform that northern lights are visible), good breakfast, rooms are old but ok, shower wasnt clean and the water did run off very slow. Wifi was also very slow up to a point that it was unusable. I guess they have too small bandwith for the number of guests. Billiard table couldnt be used as some balls were missing...

Tremendous hotel! Magical. Lovely geothermal pool. Elegant dining in an epic restaurant setting. Wonderful classic old rooms. Helpful staff. Didn’t want to leave.
A lovely hotel, very comfortable, close to eateries and good position for walks etc. Good breakfast and the service was really good.
We are two couples traveling together in Iceland on the Ring Road. We absolutely loved this hotel. One of us was reminded of the old hotels in England he stayed in. The room was comfortable and clean. We loved the spa on the patio and we ate at the restaurant in the hotel and had a great meal. They even had a vegan option (one of us is vegan) made with vegetables from Icelandic greenhouses. The beds...
Nice hotel
Bathroom too cold; no floor heating
Nice bedroom. Good breakfast
Beautiful discovery of this historic hotel in Saudarkrokur.
Staff very attentive to their guests, impeccable breakfast in a beautiful restaurant room.
Our Icelandic trip was even more beautiful thanks to this place.
We will return.
We were on the 2nd floor of the annex, which required carrying our luggage up steep steps. The room itself had a lovely front view of the water and was quite spacious with a sitting room. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, the tv and WiFi worked perfectly and there was an easy to use espresso machine in the room as well as a selection of teas. The bathroom was an odd layout, very narrow with...

Byli jsme nadseni. Prijedem znova! Very good location. Professional staff. Reasonably sized room with private bathroom. Good roller blinds. Good internet. Large parking lot. All clean. This place is more suitable for travellers rather than to spoiled tourists. Why do you need TV in the room if you are on Iceland?!
We stayed there three noghts and we have absolutely nothing to complain about. The rooms are pretty and clean, the services absolutely fine and the receptionists are so nice and willing to help with or advise anything one might need.
is important to know this is a student dormitory converted to a hotel during the summer tourist months. That means sparse very basic accommodations that are not super cozy, very little decor, furniture that seems out of place in the foyer and other areas, no TV or amenities, tiny bathrooms, thin walls (you hear everyone else showering, moving around etc) and wifi that doesn’t work great, if at all...
Don’t take any notice of other reviews!
Iceland accommodation is limited at best of times!! This is a very small town and I can promise for the price you will not be disappointed. It’s very modern, clean, staff super friendly 24hr receptionist. One of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in!! Stay here then go to the KK restaurant in town.
This summer hotel is a boarding school during the year. The essential is there and the staff is friendly.
This is a summer hotel and a school dorm in the winter.

It was a makeshift stay due to bad weather, and the breakfast was terrible.
Clean and sanitary good service
We were on a trip around the island and stayed here.
Overall it's not bad. There are not many hotels in the north.
,,,,,,,,,,recommend
The hotel is very quiet, the front desk service is enthusiastic, the rental car broke down, the hotel front desk patiently helped to contact the car rental company, the room is quiet, very clean, the yard is large. The breakfast is very rich.
If you need a place to stay one night on the round trip of Iceland, from Akureyri back to Reykjavik, Laugarbakki is the choice. Hotel choices are limited. This one is probably a reasonable choice. Compared with other hotels of similar quality in other towns, this one is relatively expensive. The breakfast lacks choices, too.
But the staff is good, as I lost a remote control of my selfie and found...
Hotel is big and nice, as not really in a city centre, so the light pollution is not strong there, had the best northern light experience right in next to the hotel.
