Midgard is not only a beautiful place to stay, with wonderful food and excellent tours... the PEOPLE really make it special. We felt welcomed into their family at every turn. Many (all?) of the tour guides are members of the rescue squad, EMTs, etc. So even hiking on glaciers, driving through snowstorms, and forging through rivers we always felt extremely safe. There was never any question that they were there for our safety and enjoyment. Shout out to Gina, Harpa, Fjölnir, and Holldár in particular!

We went on the 4-day tour and bonded beautifully with our small group. Highly recommend!

Incredibly nice atmosphere, right from the slide doors.

Awesome chill out yet romantic but cozy vibes.
They fuse hostel, hotel and bar vibes into one.
Still they add a little nordic viking touch.

Staff is super friendly. They make you feel at home.
Im not a friend of hostels, but this definitely eases my hesitations.

Very good experience. Great kitchen facilities. Amazing service, Polish girl wearing glasses who checked us in ( we didn’t catch the name unfortunately) was very attentive and showed us all facilities. She was very helpful and soo friendly. I wish every hotel has her as a receptionist in Iceland, or every where we travelled. Hotel has a hot tub and sauna. Everything was good about this place. Highly recommend to everyone travelling to Iceland on the way to Vik.

Stayed here with my wife, parents and my brother and sister-in-law. We all got private rooms and had sightseeing adventures set up for every day of our visit. I can not speak highly enough of this establishment. From the moment they picked us up at the airport, to the moment they dropped us off, we were treated like a family member.
The location is lovely, warm and welcoming. Upstairs there are rooms that sleep 6, like a hostel setting. Smaller groups can share a room for a lower fare. We had opted for our own private rooms, which have their own bathroom and shower in the spacious setting. The food at the base was lovely, drinks as well. During our stay, we were invited for a stop in with an employee at their home. They served us a traditional breakfast and shared their life story with us. The positivity simply beams off of everyone on this staff, and you can tell that this place is more than just a job for them.
I am so grateful that we found Midgard and cant wait to return there again in the future. A beautiful establishment set in a beautiful country.
Thank you for having us!

We have a 1 night stay at Midgard Camp during our 9 days road trip in Iceland. It is our 2nd stop hotel of our trip.
Though the room are not big, but it is comfortable, good and cosy enough for all. The family rooms comes with 1 double bed plus 1 bunk bed enough for all 4 of us.
The whole place is very vibrant, friendly staff, nicely decorated and energetic yet peaceful and quiet for individual enjoyment. The whole place is very well maintained and It is very clean even the common toilet as I bathe there to avoid waiting for our private toilet to save some time. The common kitchen is for all guests and is well equipped. We cooked our hot meal as well as breakfast there. We can also enjoy the complementary coffee/tea from the hotel paid breakfast. Overall, We enjoy our stay there even though it is just 1 night. The location is easily found with the GPS, you wouldn't miss it. Highly recommended this place. Also, really appreciate the friendly staff giving us a round tour of the place explaining where are the common toilet, hot bathe tub, dryer for our swim wear should we use the hot bathe tub and sauna. This is indeed exceed our expectation actually. 10/10!
Share your experiences, help others make the right choice!
