Loved it!!!
Stayed at Hella Kanslarinn during our Ring Road trip and it was a great stopover spot. The view from the property is okay during the day; we could spot the northern lights from our window at night. it is really peaceful depsite being placed in the main road of Hella whcih makes it perfect to get a good night’s rest between drives. Room is extremely clean and well organized. The room incl . bathroom are spacious with all you need (kettle, mugs, boiler, etc.). The staff is really nice and the breakfast felt fresh with the right variety and options for a 2 star hotel. there are options also to check in outside the main hours , just contact the reception. highly recommend for the extremely high quality /price ratio.

Overall great stay and cozy room for us… the receptionist greeted us with friendly smile… the hotel has a restaurant next to it and we had our dinner there since there’s no kitchenette for us to prepare our own dinner…

The room was enough big for 2 of us. The hotel location just beside the road side and easy to get there. The room was clean and the staff was very helpful. The breakfast was very good. Will comeback again next time .

The staff were very friendly. The hotel was a bit dated but it was comfortable and clean. In addition, renovations are underway. Bonus points for the heated bathroom floors. The breakfast was the stand out with eggs and bacon in addition to lunch meats. Worth the price for the value.

At first it was skeptical because the property is under construction. It seems they are adding a few rooms and possibly an elevator. The room was spacious and comfortable. It’s in the middle of a small town with a craft store a short walk away. There is a river walk and a cafe also within walking distance. The breakfast was good and would have probably cost $50 (for two people )if you had to pay for it somewhere else. The key system lets you conveniently leave the hotel and reenter should you try to catch the northern lights in the middle of the night.

We loved this place. The rooms were clean, large, and had everything you need for a basic hotel. The breakfast was really nice. Honourable mentions for the fried eggs and bacon. We would highly recommend this property.

We stayed at this hotel for an overnight between a multi-day trek and another day of hiking and sightseeing. The rooms are basic, with very comfortable bed and bedding, blackout curtains, and an excellent shower and heated floors in the bathroom.

We did find the room quite warm and had to open the large picture window wide all night to manage the temperature.

The staff were very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was included in our room. We had a lovely simple buffet breakfast before heading out on our day of sightseeing. There were two kinds of eggs, bacon, beans, three kinds of bread and multiple yogurt and cereal options.

Would recommend if looking for a place to stay in Hella.

Super unassuming but damn good at everything we needed. Curtains actually blocked the 21 hours of light. Walls actually separated noises from other rooms. Shower actually had room to wash your body. Good food at reasonable (for Iceland) prices. Helpful staff fluent in gestures if not in English. Fully had a nice stay. Wish more places were like this.

Basic room and shower, no TV. Breakfast was good.

The first night in Iceland was nice. The room was clean, comfortable and beautiful. The beds were comfortable and we slept very well. The breakfast buffet was also a plus of this accommodation as well as the kettle in the room and the parking. In a central and convenient location. The employees were polite and helpful, they gave us everything we needed. I would definitely stay again.
