The place to stay is very close to the church. Service is so-so. Breakfast is okay. Eating at KFC nearby is the most cost-effective option; places like Da Shi Dai are just a few minutes' walk away. I ate there. The pizza was over 200 kilos, and the crust was completely burnt. I saw other people were also complaining. A bowl of noodles was 170 kilos, a fried rice was 200 kilos, a taco was 120 kilos...
They were very attentive and provided warm service; there's really nothing to say, just go for it. Cleanliness could be improved, the bed and blankets are a little small, but overall it was still very good.
Located in the heart of Selfoss, it offers easy access to both the coast and the inland area. The facilities are relatively new. The rooms are not particularly large. There's parking, but it's limited, so you'll have to park on the street if you run out. Breakfast is similar to other hotels, but the selection isn't extensive. The coffee is good. There's a spa, but it costs 3,000 kroner per person...
This hotel has a very stylish design, and the price is surprisingly reasonable. The bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, and small windows are all very tasteful. The hotel also has free parking, which is very convenient.
good location, everything nearby
Clean modern hotel situated near the entrance to the town. Large room but space mostly in the washroom (if you like big washrooms its great). Breakfast is BIG plus in Iceland, hot cooked American breakfast (bacon, eggs, sauteed mushrooms, bread and toast), lots of juices and milk, three cereals available. Avoid the espresso machine just get the brewed coffee made by the staff. Tea is sachet so dependable...

Loved this hotel. Travelled as a family of five at the beginning of December and we were delighted. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The food was absolutely exceptional. We were lucky enough to have plenty of snow, to experience frozen waterfalls, underground caves, vik and the black sand beach with snow all over it, and to see the northern lights. What an amazing trip!
We stayed for three nights and left not thinking it was nearly enough. It was, without hesitation, the best hotel experience of my life. The hotel is small, only about 14 rooms. And the rooms are luxurious. You become acquainted with the others guests and those interactions are a lot of fun. Dinner is amazing with some of the best seafood and Lamb I have ever had. The morning fare is equally...
We had a really lovely and special stay here. The owners make it feel quite familiar here and the atmosphere is very relaxed. The views are absolutely beautiful and the windows are squeaky clean so you can enjoy it. The food that is prepared here is spectacular! I didn’t expect that. The best thing about this hotel are of course the dogs. They are just so sweet. Tina, the black one, greeted us on arrival...
it was very cozy, the owners were very nice and helpful with us, the breakfast had variety, the spa was superb( we were so lucky that we got to see the northern lights meanwhile we were chilling in the thermal bath they had outdoors. It is not in Reykjavik but the location is in the middle of the main attractions like the golden circle, the ice caves, the black beach. These were still 1 hour plus drive...
The best place we staying in Iceland! The hotel is small and cozy. The design of the interior is sensational. Most of the art is original art by the owner's father. The views are incredible. You sit on a hill and can see forever. The rooms are awesome with great beds and bathrooms. We had dinner both nights and each was outstanding. Breakfast was also fantastic. The facilities were great and you can...
We had 4 days in Iceland and decided we would stay outside of Reykjavik. And thank goodness we did as we booked at this wonderful boutique hotel, which ticked all my boxes. Few rooms, homely, clean, charming, great design (with surprisingly wonderful nods to Phillippe Starck), delicious food, indoor/outdoor geo thermal pools and genuine ownership heartfelt integrity.

The breakfast was so-so, it was a bit lacking.
It was an okay stay. In my opinion, the best part of the stay was the nice staff! The rest of the hotel is OK, but not great. We spent 270 USD on the room with the view over the river, unfortunately this stay was not worth it. We booked the room with the view over the river, unfortunately we did not see much of the river as it was dark most of the time. So do not bother booking the room with the view...
The best hotel found. Room with balcony points exactly at the northern lights. Great food steam cooked woth geothermal source at the restaurant. Very kind staff. Excellent.
This is a cosy place to stay with access to a nice town and some excellent walking. Also convenient for exploring the national park. Relax in the hot tub before going for a drink and dinner. You must eat here! The food is excellent.

The place is nice, especially the Hot Tubs that are included. One main Disapointment was at the breakfast. Their Coffee machine Malfuctioned and they had an additional coffee machine from the bar which is literally at the breakfast buffet, but instead of serving coffee for free for replacement of the malfuctioned one, they were are asking you to pay for your morning coffee which this is unacceptable...
Awsome from 1 to 10 ❤️ I came and had 2 wonderful days with my two children aged 2 and 5 and wow we managed to relax and many would say HA relax alone with two children so young. But believe me the calm that prevails over this hotel makes everyone relax and the three of us will come home relaxed and calm after the wonderful two nights we had here and the best thing is that most everything is within...
The room was too hot and stuffy. The lobster bisque from the in-house restaurant was incredibly salty, and the hotel offered no compensation after we provided feedback.
Excellent breakfast and very clean. Hotel Örk stands out for its excellent breakfast with plenty of variety. The rooms and common areas were very clean and well maintained. A comfortable and pleasant stay overall.
Very nice rooms! Smart tv! Nice bathroom, good breakfast selection!
We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Clean, spacious, comfortable room. All of the staff were helpful and welcoming. The breakfast had too many options to mention and the atmosphere was relaxing and refreshing.

The hot spring hotel is nice and the location is great for seeing the northern lights. It’s a peaceful place to stay. However, the oven is not clean and should be cleaned.
This place is beautiful and stylish, and it has everything I need. I cooked here every day — the kitchen was super convenient and the stay was really comfortable.🍳
The hotel room is very large, with a corridor, living room, and dining room. You can cook your own meals. The facilities are also new. There is a supermarket nearby, which is very convenient. However, you still need to call the hotel to ask which room you want and what the password is for the box where the room key is. People who don't speak English may not be able to figure it out.
We stayed here 4 nights and LOVED IT! Wish we stayed longer. Has everything you need. Rooms (including bathroom) are large. Great location. Very comfortable. Quiet. Safe, friendly and adorable little town with yummy restaurants. 5+ stars!
We stayed in apartment 1 which is on ground floor. The apartment is lovely. We had a clog in the shower drain and it was fixed immediately by staff. The only slight improvement I would suggest would be a little more lighting or stronger lighting as the walls are dark and we had to sometimes raise the window shades to see well. It is close to stores but not so close that the noise would be a problem...
This was the best property we stayed at Durham our 3 week trip around Iceland. Words cannot describe this accommodation- it is gorgeous. Under flooring heating, fully equipped kitchen, such a huge space. The hot tub area was lovely and very clean. The bathroom was spacious and the robes and outdoor shoes wereva lovely touch

Good hotel. Great restaurant with good food and cocktails. Very welcoming waitress at the restaurant.
Nice hotel! Their chef is one of the best hotel chefs in Iceland. Even though every hotel seems to have the same breakfast buffet. Here it was cooked properly and with love.
What a fantastic hotel. The rooms are clean and a great size. The staff are so polite and helpful. We loved the generous breakfast and the surroundings are stunning. We are so glad we opted to stay here.
If there was a 7🌟 option- THIS place deserves it! Thank you too all staff- ESPECIALLY Kathey- there was a mixup in our reservation with Expedia, we had been exploring for 15hrs after traveling for 8hrs and we had been up for 30ish+ hours. She gave us pur key, told us where to find the geothermal pools and said she would fix this issue and update us in the morning. We were exhausted and greatful. ...
This hotel was part of our great experience in Iceland. About an hour outside of Reykjavik The rooms were clean. The staff was excellent. The dinner at the restaurant was top notch. Breakfast everyday was superb. The buffet was a perfect way to start our day. The hot tubs outside were absolute perfection. They had a Northern lights wake up list so if they were out and about they would call and let...
Beautiful hotel with near the national reservation. Hotel is cosy, it feels more like a holiday colony than a hotel rooms feel seperated so you don't feel crowded. Breakfast was great. My only suggestion would be walkin showers foe the rooms we had a showerbath combo. With some luck you can watch the nothernlights in a very clean jaccuzi.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Ion. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the lava spa was very relaxing. We had a great dinner at the restaurant and really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The staff was very kind and gave us some great local recommendations for the next stage of our trip. We were even lucky enough to see the northern lights, thanks to the wake up call from the front desk.
It is certainly an adventure to drive to this hotel, the hotel itself is stunning, rooms are spacious and great views. The heated pool and sauna were absolute great after a drive to relax. Restaurant has a very limited menu, service was not great, offering of food was ok but not spectacular the northern light bar has no service there was no music, it was awkward to sit over there. Overall we thought...
stayed 3 nights here and the auroras were dancing every night for hours! best way to watch them is from the hotel’s geothermal heated pool. fitting to the hotel’s affiliation with Design Hotels, rooms were aesthetically calming and pleasing to the eye. i booked the smallest room but got an upgrade to a suite thanks to my Marriott Bonvoy Platinum status, which is honored at this hotel. including late...
Don’t believe the “bad reviews”……this hotel is absolutely amazing. The ambiance of the restaurant was A+ as well as the food. People complain it’s expensive but good. Yeah you are staying at a $600 a night hotel did you expect the meal to be $25? Hotel staff was friendly and Informative. The hotel bar had fantastic views and was very comfortable. The natural red hot spring pool was super relaxing and...
If you're sensitive to smells, definitely don't stay here. The sulfur smell is overwhelming; it woke me up twice in the middle of the night. The water also has a strong sulfur smell. Writing this review reminds me of that stench, and it makes me shudder.
The hotel is conveniently located near the Golden Circle attractions and a park. Nearby, you can witness geothermal steam rising from the ground.

Very cozy nordic style hotel. This actually big hotel with sauna and hot tub. Breakfast also great.
We had a great stay at Stracta - the chalet style rooms were not a surprise as we looked through all photos on booking before choosing to stay. The only negative I can say is that the shower was really tight, the two doors don’t really work well. Other than that we had a great stay, the pull out bed for our daughter was far more comfortable than the one in others we’d stayed in. The staff were lovely...
Highly recommend! We stayed in one of the rooms with the private hot tubs. The room was very spacious and well laid out. The rooms were very clean and so was the hotel. The only thing was the shower is the room wasn’t working at its best, only the one showerhead was working. The food was good. In the area there isn’t a lot so you have to drive. Overall though the hotel was very peaceful and relaxing...
Spent 2 nights in Stracta hotel during summer. We were given a room in the outdoor without shelter, so it was quite a hassle when it rained. Otherwise the room was pretty standard size, squeezy for 3 people, would be fine for 2. Didn't manage to try the hot tub as it was full with patrons. Do not forget the complimentary drinks, Cheers!
I recently stayed at the Stracta Hotel in Hella Iceland with family, and wanted to post a quick review here. I stayed in one of their superior designated rooms with a double bed. The room was spacious and clean with a modern updated bathroom. The room also had a good sized open closet for my clothes and included some extra pillows and blankets. The price of the room included a breakfast in the morning...

Not worth it given the price and location.
We loved our stay at Hotel Ranga. Truly a small luxury hotel. Nice comfortable rooms, great serene locations. We loved the observatory for star gazing and also saw a bit of northern lights. What stands out though is their professional hospitality and the service. They are all very willing to help. Very good food. Recommended for a stay if you were traveling like us to or from the east side of Iceland
We had such a beautiful stay at Hotel Rangá. It is truly a lovely property — charming, elegant, and absolutely worthy of being called a luxury cabin experience. We enjoyed every moment there. The reception team was wonderful, especially the young lady who kindly assisted us with all of our questions. She was incredibly helpful and welcoming, which made our stay even more special. The hotel is kept...
We didn’t stayed in the hotel, but we stopped to have lunch, the food was amazing, deer carpaccio and the fish of the day (cod) was really tasty. Also the ice cream The staff was very kind and ready to help. And the place has great views, the bear in the main entrance was spectacular.
My husband and I stayed here for two nights and had a lovely experience. The first night we had the pleasure of attending the star gazing in the observatory with an absolutely wonderful astronomer. He was so knowledgeable, and seeing the stars that clearly was beautiful. We did see some of the northern lights that night as well, and the hotel provided hot chocolate for everyone staying up late to see...
Nice hotel but for a night I would stay in other hotels that where better and less expensive
