Description

The family-run hotel occupies a building built in the 15th century. It offers a cosy restaurant and a small Wellness centre. Once a week there is a traditional party with local dishes.

Location: in the centre of Cavalese and 800 m from the ski lifts, 40 km from the airport Bolzano. Bus stop near the hotel.

Consists of one 4-storey building.

The hotel has 27 rooms.

We stayed at Orso Grigio for 9 nights. It's a wonderful family owned and run 4 star hotel. The rooms are modern, clean and extremely quiet. The hotel is located in the heart of the town, so everything is within walkable distance (souvenir shops, pharmacy). The hotel also has a well appointed spa/wellness area. I would also recommend taking the breakfast option as the buffet is delicious and has all the local delicacies to offer (cold cuts, cheeses, fresh apple juice). Daniela, the owner, provided excellent recommendations for activities (hikes, nearby restaurant to try out, however do try the Orso Grigio restaurant first, their wine list is superb). The hotel can also provide you with the Trentino guest card which allows you to take the ski lifts for a fixed rate during the entire length of your stay (highly recommended). All in all, Hotel Orso is a delightful hotel and I would definitely recommend it for anyone who wishes to spend a relaxing time in the Val di Fiemme region.

We stayed three night to participate in the Marcialonga event. The hotel was excellent with clean rooms, great breakfast and a nice spa in the basement. We had a rental car and were provided with garage parking not far from the hotel. We had two dinners which were very nice, one which had live music that added to the atmosphere. However what stood out was the friendliness and helpfulness of the hotel and restaurant staff. Thanks for having us!

We had a fantastic breakfast here one morning before skiing. Excellent selection with buffet and hot dishes to choose from. Friendly and welcoming team. Would highly recommend.

Adorable, charming, and incredible staff. I'm an American who visited here 30 years ago. I can't wait to return and take in the magnificent beauty of the region. The dolomites are spectacular. Highly recommend this gem of a hotel to anyone wanting true Northern Italian hospitality and warmth.

We stayed 3 nights and among our group experienced 3 different rooms. I don't think there is such a thing as a bad room in this hotel. Each was extremely clean, well-designed (layout), and properly appointed. We particularly enjoyed rooms 201 and 403. The location was perfect (center of a beautiful small town) - great hikes were minutes away (by car). The restaurant had enough variety that we ate nearly all of our meals there (they have tasting menus daily as well as a la carte selections). They offer breakfast only, half-board, and full-board rates. The hotel staff were multilingual (not a surprise in the EU) and friendly. They were very nice to our children which I'm not sure is a detail to be taken lightly in this region where impeccable behavior is expected of children. (Children who are loud or misbehaved are definitely outliers in our observation.)

We stayed half board for 4 days. Spacious and clean rooms: one double and one single.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent breakfast with a wide choice of tasty desserts and always present an exquisite mixed fresh fruit. Congratulations to the chef for the attention to detail of the dinners.
The spa is very welcome after returning from excursions.
