Hotel Vienna in San Martino di Castrozza

The good: comfortable beds, views of the mountains and an ample breakfast buffet with made to order eggs and crispy bacon.
The bad: rooms need maintenance (mildew in the shower, chipped paint). Nicer in photos than in reality. They also gave a French couple the key to my room so I had the unpleasant experience of people barging in on me as I was getting undressed to take a shower. The manager came up a few minutes later but to my surprise not to apologize for the error and inconvenience but to tell me "you're in the wrong room" (I was obviously not. How would I have gotten in without the correct key? Also my room number was very clearly written on the card, as I showed him. The mistake was his, but I was made to feel like I was the one who had done something wrong.)
I stayed at a different hotel in San Martino during the same trip (before going up to do the Palaronda Trek) which was down the street, cleaner, had very similar rooms and breakfast, a large park, even nicer balconies and views and was 30 euros cheaper.
So I wouldn't consider this hotel good value by comparison with neighboring ones in the same village.
