Relais Masseria Capasa in Martano

We enjoyed our stay at Relais Masseria Capasa. Angelica and Pierluigi were kind, helpful and super fast in responding to our requests, as well as going above and beyond to help us arrange taxis, a private chef and make recommendations. They handled any concern we had with a quick response and grace, which we appreciated.

We stayed here with our family, there were 14 of us and we loved the pool and all of the places that we could eat and relax together.

We stayed at the Relais Masseria Capasa while on a family trip through Puglia and we feel very lucky to have found this beautiful house. For me personally, this was hands down the most special place I ever stayed in and I'll always fondly remember the four days we spent there.

The house itself dates back to the 16th century and from the moment you enter, you can feel a warm, welcoming atmosphere so typical of the region and of Italian culture overall. What is more, the interior and exterior design work that has been done to the house is extremely beautiful. We were marveling at the tasteful choices and the incredible attention to detail in them throughout our stay. Every single of these choices contributed to preserving the original spirit of the house and revealing its character even more. I especially liked all the elements made from a variety of stone that is local to Puglia. Just like all the other elements, these blended in perfectly with the rest of the interior design and serve to make you feel at home instantly as a guest.

That said, the beauty of the house and its surroundings (it is located in a beautiful region with many picturesque towns and picture-perfect beaches just a short car ride away) is just one aspect of why this stay was unforgettable to us. Throughout our vacation in Italy, it was important to us not to stay in traditional hotels, but rather rent from private hosts. This is because we wanted to experience Italy to the fullest extent possible, and staying in privately owned spaces gave us the opportunity to experience Italian culture and hospitality first hand. This was especially true about the Relais Masseria Capasa. Angelica and Ginevra, the two sisters who manage the house, are amazing people and will answer any and all questions you might have about the house, the region and what to see, or which restaurants to dine in. From the very first interaction I could see that they both put a lot of heart and kindness into everything they do. The conversations we had were very engaging and contributed to making this stay a one-of-a-kind experience.

I whole-heartedly recommend the Relais Masseria Capasa to anyone traveling in the area. While there, make sure to ask for the olive oil produced by the hosting family. I can attest that it's delicious! :)
