Rooms and the decor of the hotel was beautiful!

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the overall service and vibe. There were very little guests staying; it was a ghost town during the day.

Despite this, it took 50+ minutes to serve us lunch each day, even with being the only people to order food. We tried to get the waiters attention each time but they rush past ( despite having very little or no guests). This didn’t even give us an opportunity to discuss the poor service.

They moved us into the restaurant due to rain one day and forgot to turn on the lights in there for 30 minutes 😅. I felt they had much younger day staff in attendance and they were more preoccupied with cleaning or doing tasks, than serving guests.

The only good experience we received was when we ate in the restaurant one night. The service was superb.

Booking.com does not make it clear that the spa is an additional charge. 95€ to sit in an array of pools is London prices so I was very shocked to find out the price, whilst already paying alot for the hotel room per night. This poor advertising is not the hotels fault but it started us off on a bad footing which unfortunately got worse.

I would avoid this hotel. There is not much else to do in the area so if you’re not enjoying the hotel, there is nowhere to go…

Beautiful exterior, but rooms are quite old, toilets are not well maintained with rusty tap (in a 5-star hotel?)

Pool was closed in end of Sep, but on the ******* website hotel description, it says seasonal pool is only closed from October. Receptionist is not helpful nor friendly while check-in. It is not a 5-star experience that is expected.

Restaurant staff is attentive though.

Overall, do not recommend this hotel for this price.

We were looking for the restaurant "La Laternaia" that has very good ratings on the Fork app. Obviously, the restaurant name does not exist any more. We were asking at the reception desk of the 5 star resort Histo Relais, they said it is the same kitchen and the same restaurant. We were a bit confused, but as everything looked good and chic we ordered from the menu. Unfortunately, the food was a disaster. We ordered a raw fish plate with mint and passion fruit dressing. No dressing at all, just some frutti de mare on ice cubes. The fish plates were completely overgrilled and overfried, totally dry fish. The oil was old. You can get better fish in any beach bar along the coastline. 140 EUR for 2 adults and 2 children. A disaster for a 5 star hotel.
