This is a belated review for a stay from 2.5 years ago. I still have very fond memories of the stay. The landlady is the most wonderful person you can meet in Matera, place is very clean, rooms are spacious and reflect the general atmosphere of Matera. They serve breakfast in the hotel opposite, which is not a burden at all, because the views to Sassi are breathtaking from your breakfast table. Breakfast is very rich, even for vegans and vegetarians. All in all, a five star stay in all respects.

Nice place to stay, close to the city center, interior is beautifully renovated, rooms are cozy. Host is always ready to help, even with restaurant reservations, which are difficult to find on January 1st.

Three nights in Matera and we enjoyed staying at Residence del Casalnuovo. It was private (even private terrace second entrance), clean, spacious and practical.
The view at breakfast was breathtaking over the Sassi and the Rock Church.
The host was welcoming and kind.

Small but very clean room, fully equipped. Great position to reach the places of interest on foot. I strongly advise this accomodation to those who want to visit Matera!Breakfast is served at Belvedere Hotel just across the street. Also this hotel is suggested both for the abundant and delicious food and for the unique/ breathtaking view on the panorama of The Sassi. Its terrace deserves a reservation!

Strategic position for this residence, in a Matera that is very difficult to navigate if you have a lot of luggage behind.
I challenge anyone to enter the city with trolley and suitcases in tow. This residence is the closest to the center, but still accessible by car and with public parking available nearby. Clean and cozy room, with bunk beds for children or double beds pushed together.
You have breakfast in the hotel opposite.
Really friendly and helpful staff.
Definitely recommend an overnight stay in this structure!

I start by saying that, ultimately, I no longer actually stayed here despite having booked a weekend at this property and the reasons for my cancellation were due to hotel inefficiencies: I called a few days before my stay to ask for information regarding the room with hydromassage that I had booked and the young lady on the phone, rather rudely, dismissed me by telling me that the hydromassage tub is actually just a simple bathtub and that, being 15 years old, it didn't even work. Finally, when I ask why there was still the option of a room with a whirlpool tub if the latter was unusable, he gets upset and orders me to change hotels if their rooms as they were did not meet my needs. Although I appreciated the kindness of the staff who granted me free cancellation without penalty, I believe it is really dishonest and rude to treat customers like this and to advertise misleadingly in this way.

Nice location, rooms are decent and rate is fair enough. Amazing breakfast with view on Canyon and Sassi. Small bathroom.
