The location is good, and the rooms are spacious enough. However, the room's decor is a bit dark, making it feel rather gloomy. The breakfast service is somewhat inferior to that of a 5-star hotel, but everything else is quite good.

This was an amazing place to stay in the heart of the Sassi. The breakfast was very nice with many options and the dinner we had there was equally good. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The shower was the nicest we had on our two week trip. Appreciated a safe available in the room.

We opted for the cave room! The room is very well appointed. It features a French window and small windows in the bathroom. The pool is amazing. We had a car, which we parked without any issues via Lucana.

Steer clear of the smallest room type – it has no windows and was quite musty. Upgrading to a suite, however, was a complete game-changer! The service was exceptional; they catered to our every need. The hotel's location is unbeatable.

Staff at the hotel were great. We stayed 2 nights and it was very hot. Unfortunately the air con can’t cool the old building when it is this hot. So room was quite warm. Staff provided fans. Also jacuzzi pool is not complementary. Lovely old building though, easy to find etc.

We have mobility issues so they arranged a tour of Matera for us in an Apecar (Tuktuk) The service was either great (picking us up at the garage) to poor (not answering the phone at check-out time, telling me after I carried my own luggage 500 feet down 20 rough stone steps that there was another desk to call, not telling us we'd have to climb 50 of stone steps...

Stayed just two days here, the views are amazing!! Matera is beautiful. The A/C was poor at best, the shower very small. Could not get a table at the restaurant, unfortunately. Breakfast was great.

Made even more special by Paolo, he went out of his way for us, even securing us restaurant bookings, when the restaurant seemed booked out, nothing was too much trouble for him. This was our favorite hotel on the trip. The staff were great offering wonderful suggestions, arranging a tour and taxi to catch our very early train. Was unable to partake in breakfast. Most of the staff was very nice and helpful except the man (or shuttle driver) when we arrived that nite. I don’t appreciate being yelled at by staff at a hotel I paid for. Was not very understanding and rude.

We were knocked out by the comtempory feel and stylish interior to what is simply a cave. It was fresh and perfect. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. Even the lovely lady at breakfast remembered what we liked to drink with our breakfast.

This was my second visit to Le Dodici Luna and we thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of the staff and the lovely, spacious room. I highly recommend this hotel if you visit Matera. WOW, Matera is a very unique place! To appreciate it, you need to walk lots of stairs up and down but its history and beauty are worth it! It was three beautiful Jordanians. Matera and the Murgia is unique and the position of the apartment practically in the stones allows you to live it in full day and night. The property is not properly finished. Although the staff were very helpful & bedrooms were good, it wasn't within walking distance of any restaurants as the surrounding area is undeveloped. However, there were buses into the centre about 7 or 8 minutes walk.

Chose this hotel because it is close to the bus stop where we took a bus out of Matera. Hence we had to walk about 20 minutes to reach Matera square. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. We had all meals there and managed to cover all viewpoints planned.

The hotel service is very good, everyone is very enthusiastic, the environment is great, the scenery is also good, we paid extra to upgrade to the largest cave room, it was like living in nature, very warm with floor heating, the room was super quiet, the bath water was big and hot, the restaurant was beautiful, there was tea to drink, it was the best night's sleep we had.

Great place to experience the magic of Matera. Very nice breakfast in a large and atmospheric cave room. The cave rooms are cosy in early spring and definitely an experience. We opted in for the guided tour of Sassi which ended up being a highlight of our trip (many thanks to Alessio L).

I've almost forgotten, it should be in Matura, a nice city. The hotel was good except for the price-performance ratio; the bathroom was huge, but the air conditioning was a bit insufficient. The bathroom and room were on different levels, probably due to the terrain.

My flight was delayed and my check-in time was in the middle of the night, but they waited for me. Of course, I had contacted them on the way there to let them know that I would be delayed. They were also very friendly and even carried my luggage for me. Thank you very much.

The best hotel I have visit for this trip. All staffs are friendly and helpful. Easiest way to reach hotel is to go to Matera Centrale via ferrovie train from Bari Centrale. Than a bus near the train station will fetch you the doorstep. Very efficient location.

Staff had difficulty telling me where property actually was, when phoned in with problem.
