The property is not properly finished. Although the staff were very helpful & bedrooms were good, it wasn't within walking distance of any restaurants as the surrounding area is undeveloped. However, there were buses into the centre about 7 or 8 minutes walk.

Chose this hotel because it is close to the bus stop where we took a bus out of Matera. Hence we had to walk about 20 minutes to reach Matera square. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. We had all meals there and managed to cover all viewpoints planned.

Staff were very friendly and was easy to access most of the places by foot.

Overall, the stay went well, although the mattress wasn't the best and, more importantly, there were no extra pillows. This resulted in back pain and a stiff neck.

The drop down menu did not offer our dates. We stayed here in October 2019 - but I lost me sign on/password so only writing review now. We really enjoyed this hotel - very clean and everyone on staff friendly. The lady at the desk helped with taxi's. We found the breakfast buffet ample and tasty. We had dinner one evening in the hotel dining room and were very pleased. We went to see the caves but car traffic was limited there so that is why we chose this hotel. There was secured parking. All in all - definitely worth going back.

A good spot from which to explore historic Matera
This was a very modern hotel about 20 min walk from the old historic center. It was close to the Villa Longo train station which made it easier to arrive! Lovely breakfast in the morning!

Had to leave Scilla at 2am and drove to Matera arriving around 7:15am. While we weren’t really planning on checking in until 4pm, the staff went out of their way above and beyond to make us comfortable by immediately providing us with access to the underground parking garage. Then provided us with with cornettos and capuchinos before they even had the coffee bar open! They THEN rushed to get us a room in record time. A very clean, comfortable room with every amenity you could need. A great value & bargain. Thank You Hotel Nazionale!

Better than expected. It's cheaper here than in the west, less crowded, but quite clean, and the rooms are quite spacious.

Hotel just a few minutes' walk from Matera Vecchia, quiet, clean, and with parking.

Good place to stay for work and pleasure.
Good restaurant, gentle and professional personnel, nice location.
Inside it looks like any other modern hotel, but outside it is unique.
