Hotel Gaston in Rimini

We left two nights earlier!

We booked 10 nights right in the summer holiday season here.
We were 3 persons (1 teenager) and a dog.
As this was not our first vacation ever, we were totally aware of higher prices when booking right in the holiday season.
Yet we were totally disappointed about what we got for our money. We paid 190 Euro per night! This is a 4 star hotel but the service and what you find there has the value of maximum 3 stars, if you are complaisant.

Let's start:

Parking: It's absolutely robbery here! Hotel has their own parking space. But even as a guest you have to pay 20 Euro per night! Finding a free slot around the hotel is kind of a gambling. We were in San Marino one day. When we came back in the evening we had to search for a free spot for almost 40 minutes. Because of this situation we were pinned down to the area of Rimini and could not go further. Rimini (especially the area around the hotel) is really boring after a few days.

Reception: Kind people there. The crew tried as hard as possible to make it a good stay even if they knew about the lack of everything in their place.

The bad food situation and the bad parking situation made us leaving two nights earlier. This was really no good experience at all and ruined our whole vacation!
Don't visit this hotel! We paid 1900 Euro in total for the overnight stay just to be disappointed that much.

The Gaston Hotel - The Positives we had a great time the staff was extremely polite and ready to help. The cleaning service was prompt and very good. They had a lifeguard on duty. Both lifeguards asked us if we knew how to swim and made sure that everyone was safe. There is a parking lot on site (20 a night). This hotel was a good hotel for a family.

The Negatives. The best way to say is this is a great 2.5 star hotel. The desk and chair in our room were broken on arrival (the did come promptly and glue it back together). The shower head was cracked. The beds were hard and pillows flat. Breakfast was normal. The website claims fresh squeeze orange juice etc. This wasn't the case. The pools lining is coming off on the bottom. The pool closed at 18:30. I had to give a 5 euro deposit for an extra key. If we needed a late check out it was an extra 20 euro.

We were expecting a 4 star hotel and being summer we paid 4star prices. I would have been extremely happy and would recommend this hotel if it was 80-100 a night and if they would take off the 4star rating.

The hotel is not even close to 2 stars. The air conditioning was soo slow we were so sweaty in the room and stuffy. There was no cups kettle or tea bags in the room. They did not have a water dispenser when we asked where to fill the water bottles they said the tab in toilets!!! Four star hotel doesn’t have a water dispenser is a joke!
For breakfast the buffet is not self service they give you portions and you need to keep queuing every time to get one slice of tomato.
The staff are very kind and welcoming. But most of all the air conditioning was the worst we even wanted to checkout early and change hotels as even during breakfast AC was not working all visitors were complaining.
Checkout is 10am dot if you extend to 12pm you need to pay €40 extra if you extend to 6pm its €60 extra.
When you arrive you need to pay €4 per night per person tax so bare those extras in mind.
