Hotel Nelson in Rimini

We spent 2 weeks at the Nelson hotel at the turn of August, 2 adults and two children aged 5 and 8.
The hotel is located in Rivazzurra in a very convenient position to go to the sea, you just have to cross the pedestrian promenade on which you can swim on the beach, and it is also close enough to the outdoor area where the evening shows and markets of Rivazzurra. Also useful is the fact that it is located near the newsstand, pharmacy and medical service.
We also very much appreciated the internal parking and above all the swimming pool which, although not very large, allowed our children to have fun playing water games that cannot be done in the sea and to be able to swim even when the sea was rough.
Our room was very small in size but, all in all, sufficient, with a spacious balcony, and had a sea view, like, I believe, all the rooms in the hotel. The bathroom is not very big but well organized.
On the ground floor near the entrance and the swimming pool there is an open space with tables and chairs where you can spend free time, for example if you want to spend the evening without going for a walk.
The restaurant service is good, the courses are varied and, in general, appetizing, although the variations for children on the menu are limited. The table service was much appreciated, thanks to the commitment, availability and friendliness of Domenico and Giuseppe, who were able to manage a very large number of tables on their own without excessive delays.
The pain points are just a couple:
- the separations between the balconies of the rooms have the height of the windowsill and do not prevent the smoke of the occupants of a room from entering the neighboring room, so if you have, as it was for us, neighbors who smoke even at night , it is inevitable to have bad awakenings and, consequently, a suboptimal night's rest. In our case, in fact, due to the heat we were forced to keep the French door open, because the jet of the air conditioning, which was not adjustable, would have directly hit the children's bed.
- the other sore point, of lesser impact, concerns the bad smells that were occasionally heard in a part of the outdoor area on the ground floor, but I think it was a problem shared with other hotels in the area, as it happened to me to feel the same bad smell even along the promenade that runs along the entrances to the bathrooms on the beach.
