This was a family run hotel and they made sure that their guests were happy and comfortable. At check in, the owner gave us a map of the area and pinpointed the main streets and attractions. It turned to be very helpful. The room turned to be a pleasant surprise. I booked a room with 3 beds, expecting a small room like anywhere in Europe, but we were given an appartment. Very happy with it. The room was quiet and the beds comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

We could only stay one night, but we enjoyed our stay. The staff was super friendly and helpful with recommending what to see on one afternoon, and with a restaurant for dinner.

It's very convenient as it's close to the station.
Also, the female front desk staff was very helpful.

We had a great stay at Hotel Balbi. True, there is currently no elevator in the building but the owners were more than willing to carry our luggage up to the third floor. You cannot beat the central location which is an easy walk from the train station. There were three of us and we were placed in a large room which had a double bed and 2 singles. The no frills room was very clean and we considered it to be excellent value for the price paid. We will definitely return on our next trip through Genoa.

First of all the politeness of the owners is priceless and really amazing! The most welcoming people I’ve ever met!
In addition the rooms are very comfortable and clean! I can only recommend this place for sure I’ll be back again!

Very nice hotel, extraordinarily friendly and supportive staff, location close to the station Principe as well as the old town amazing, room small but totally enough, clean, comfortable bed, closet, AC 🙌🏽, water boiler for coffee and tea and even a fridge, can highly recommend and would always come back :).

One of the most disgusting hotel in Genoa. More than the hotel it can be addressed as the dustbin of Genoa. The rooms are big but Uncleaned. Dirty floors, The perkets come out from the floor, You need to walk into the room at your own risk. The staffs are most unfriendly I have ever experienced.

The rooms were big. The walls were very thin, so you could hear the bus and the cleaners when you were asleep. There were a lot of stairs, might be a problem if you have trouble walking. The staff was really nice and helpful. I would recommend this place if you stay in Genoa. Save money by booking directly at the hotel website.
