Each year, we spend two weeks at Villa Belvedere and use it as our base for visiting family, friends, and cultural attractions in the area. It is a home away from home. We particularly like the sumptuous breakfast that is served in the garden until 10am. This provides a relaxing and nutritious start to each day, accompanied by classical music.

This is an update on my previous review, where I rated this hotel 9.8/10 for its beautiful property, exceptional hospitality, and professionalism in handling feedback.

Located in the quiet town of Carrara, it’s an ideal base for hikers exploring Cinque Terre National Park and the Apuan Alps. Among the many B&Bs I’ve stayed at, this one stands out for its stunning gardens, featuring mature fruit trees, evergreens, and unique sculptures and tastefully designed and decorated suite rooms. My room was bright, cozy, and included a lovely balcony—perfect for relaxing indoors or in the garden.

The hosts were warm and attentive. I would like to have a special thanks to the husband, who quickly troubleshot my rental car issue when an auto shop failed to do so.

What truly impressed me was how they handled my feedback. As a solo hiker, breakfast is essential, and the initial offering didn’t meet my needs. Once aware, the hosts responded promptly and professionally, making necessary improvements without defensiveness.

I highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area. Its serene atmosphere, art-filled library, and welcoming hosts make it a perfect retreat.

This is an amazing hotel. We stayed in one of the suites and it was wonderful. Thank you Margherita for such a great stay. The breakfast buffet, eggs, fresh juices, and Italian coffee were delicious. The family has decorated the hotel and gardens with really intriguing art and sculpture. They have a lovely garden which feels like an oasis even though you are right off a main street. The hotel is thoughtfully and beautifully designed.

Villa Belverde is a hidden jewel.

Located on a large private lot with a beautiful garden, the accommodation is like an Italian art palace inside, with high ceilings, big windows, overstuffed chairs, fine sculptures, paintings and large mirrors on the wall, Persian rugs on the floor, and marble everywhere.

There is a covered veranda and a large garden in back, with a lawn, big shade trees, a trellis with roses, garden paths, geraniums, terra cotta pots and various marble statues and busts. Beyond the property a green pine covered ridge rises on the horizon. The rooms are sunny and bright, the property is secure, parking is easy, and everything is sunny and bright.

Beautiful location with a private park belonging to the hotel. Extraordinary rooms lovely renovated, and art expositions all over the place. The owner and the staff were taking extremely good care of us - definitely 5 stars for us.

Modest B&b? Maybe only as price. You feel like a royalty here. Excellent.

I recently stayed in this beautiful villa halfway between Avenza and Carrara. I was in suite no. 4 called the terrace. I immediately felt at ease thanks to the kindness of the owner and the courtesy and friendliness of the lady who prepared the very abundant breakfasts. I did not hear any noise in the three nights I spent, which allowed me great relaxation. I really liked the furnishings of the suite and ....... having lived, even if only for three days, in a villa!

Awesome Hotel with big beautiful rooms, delicious breakfast and super friendly staff!
There Is also a lot of Art in the Garden and in the house, even in your rooms, so it feels a bit like you are visiting a museum.
Margherita has awesome tips for sightseeing and will do everything for you to have a great stay.
