From the moment of arrival to leaving, we felt warmly looked after with exceptional attention. The hotel is in a wonderful position in that you do not need to use a car once you are there as everything is workable. Charming little Paradise on the edge of everything in Portofino.

Okay Hotel room was okay. Needs renovations.. bathroom shower head set up creates a water mess. Check in with Aziz was wonderful tho, staff overall in both locations were great, def made the stay better.

The rooms are nicely appointed although I had some mild issues with the plumbing at first. I am not a fan of half showers, but that is common there, especially in older properties. The one caution in the bathroom is the height of the tub above the floor...it can be a bit dangerous as the floor appears to be a couple inches lower than the tub bottom...just a small warning in my particular room. This was a fabulous stay! The private beach is stunning and unlike anything you’ll find in the Portofino area. The staff was amazing and always so friendly. We loved the private shuttle, the free breakfast, and that the cleaners came multiple times throughout the day! The hotel is well located and with beautiful and well curated gardens but, to me, is totally missing of charm and style. It is not a grand dame and neither a contemporary decor. Warning - this is NOT a 5* hotel. If like us you opt to stay in the residence for space and privacy, you'll find yourselves staying under a residential flat with a child running around overhead late into the evening and 1st thing in the morning. Not the families fault. It's an odd choice to buy the ground floor of an apartment block. It's also right next to the train line with trains running past midnight...

Perfect location, just by the bay/port. Easy access to dining and sight seeing. There is one mini market next to it too, very convenient.

This is a fantastic hotel, close to everything. Very hip and stylish lobby and outdoor lounge. The only thing that could improve is the hot tub was cold and we could not get it to heat up but we would highly recommend this property when visiting Santa Margherita ligure.

Very close to the train station and central area. Rooms are big and modern. The service is great. Only downside is that the hotel is split between to areas, the spa area and some of the rooms are located in a different building then the main building which isn't very comfortable, specially if your room isn't located where the spa is. But other then that, it is a really good hotel.

Our room did not include use of pool area. Requested 50 euro pp to use the pool .ordered a cappacino in the morning and they charged me the full price of breakfast buffet 30 euro. Front staff was rude.

We had a nice suite overlooking the sea . Breakfast was good evening dinners were ok nothing to write home about. They can certainly improve on them. Service staff was good. Might be a good idea to offer a shuttle service into town as you have to walk on Main Street with small side paths .

This is the first class property. And also first class staff. My wife and I bought a bottle of wine at dinner. By the end of dinner, we thought that we drank three bottles of wine. The reason why is because every time we took a sip or two the waiter would come and refill our glasses. Or I should say waiters. He was there so many times and was so attentive that we literally thought we drink three bottles...

We spent a week of our honeymoon here and had a wonderful experience. The staff was professional, attentive, and classy. Our room was comfortable, we received relaxing spa treatments, and enjoyed the hotel sauna & pool. Dream stay at the Excelsior!

The staff was friendly, and the location is perfect, within walking distance of Castle Brown, Portofino Lighthouse, the Piazzaetta, a flavorful seafood restaurant, Trattoria Tripoli, and a beautiful hidden gem, Baia Cannone, just down the stairs outside the hotel. It is a small, secluded rocky cove known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters. My husband enjoyed the swim in it.

The staff was very friendly. They upgraded us to a better room than we booked for free, with two rooms and a gorgeous sea view. Valet parking is available. The location is perfect! The views are stunning.

The hotel is dull throughout the building. Dark colours interior. The building looks lovely from the outside. But old and uncool on the inside. The was a strong ‘sewage’ smell in my room and I had a headache everyday. I didn’t complaint as the Italian service is usually very poor towards foreigners . I stayed quite and enjoyed the view - that’s all worth it … but having said that many others hotels...

Portofino Hotel is in a brilliant location . Fantastic views . We did hire a car , but not needed. Everything within walking distance and a regular bus & boat services to other parts of the area .Secure valet parking €40 per day . Hotel a little tired looking in parts but very clean . Portofino Andrea and rhe front desk qere exceptionally helpful and friendly and professional; always happy to assiat with requwara ans great at securinf dinner bookings at ahort notice.
