Reviews
First don't go in September the resort jesolo is 95% closed. The season closes Octiber 1st.
The hotel was probably built in the 70's and has not been touched since. Although very clean. The fixtures and fittings are tatty, shabby and very tired. Bedrooms have 3 beds in despite their only bring 2 of us. So a small room was even smaller. There was 6 in our booking 2 in each room. Other clients who had booked single occupancy also had 3 beds in their 3 rooms. Not acceptable.
Our bathroom sink kept getting blocked, had to be plunged. Hair dryer no nozzle and kept getting too hot to hold. Dangerous.
There are many steps to main entrance and evening restaurant. Found they had an elevator that goes from street level to all floors the 2nd day. But the lift on street level you have to enter the kitchen to get to it. And go through the kitchen to the restaurant. LIFT TO SMALL FOR WHEEL CHAIRS. Staff friendly and helpful.
Cooked breakfast poor. Offered only 3 types of egg, boiled, scrambled or fried. With one rasher of streaky bacon and one tiny sausage. Nothing else hot. Buffet cerial, continental and cakes. Evening buffet is not self service, which is good to prevent excessive waste. But is very portion controlled on a tight budget.
Could not sit around the pool area. Walls and pool side mouldy. Floor uneven and trip hazard. Tables and sunloungers old and tired. Water crystal clear in pool.
Can go straight onto beach from pool area. Lovely sandy beach and coast line. With private clean sundoungers for hotel. And snack bar and toliets nearby.
Nightlife on 21st Sept for 7 days was none existent, luckily we made our own amusement.
Bus stop two blocks awsy, went to harbour to catch boat to Venice, had a good day. But wouldn't go back to this hotel or area again.
The hotel is extremely tired and worn and yes could do with an update but it is clean and is a base. The beds are like concrete and there a few dangerous bits like the rusty metal sticking up out of bathroom floor in room 302. Also lack of shower curtains and flooding bathroom showers were being discussed by other guests. Air con is a bit odd either freezing or nothing but we coped and it wasn't really an issue.
Sunbeds on the beach are free as long as you use the yellow beds! This isn't explained and isn't immediately obvious, alot of people including us were being moved off of beds by beach workers that own the beige beds on the beach that you have to pay for.
Sun loungers on the beach and by the pool are reserved for people's entire stays by them just leaving their towels and inflatables on the beds continuously, this really needs to be looked at. One older man had 2 beds for himself at the front of the beach reserved for the full 9 nights we were there!!
There are no ramps and quite a few stairs to get into and out of hotel, so maybe not ideal for prams or people with mobility issues.
My biggest problem with this hotel was, at dinner you are told by waiters that each room gets 1 bottle of drink per evening with dinner for free, we double checked this when told and reasked for free and was told yes 1 per room per night. Our party had 2 rooms so 2 bottles per evening we had water and a cola, we didn't eat there 2 of the evenings and some evening only had 1 bottle between us. There were no jugs of water or juice to help yourself to at dinner and no information or sign of being able to order drinks just this 1 bottle per room thing. When checking out we were hit with a €54 bill! I of course argued this and asked for the waiter to come up and explain all we had had were the bottled given to us at dinner, suddenly 3 of the staff suddenly lost their language skills and only seemed able to say no!? The lady on reception remained as nice as usual. None of what happened regarding this makes much sense, why a limit of one drink per room if you are paying? Why can't you order different drinks? Why are there not at least jugs of water if you are told there's a charge and don't want to pay it? The hotel did say don't worry about it and we didn't end up paying but not how anyone wants to end their holiday! Really does feel like some sort of scam or trick to earn a bit more money if I'm being honest.
I think a massive help here would be an information board or leaflet for guests like in other hotels to outline some of this, which sunbeds to use, pool opening times etc
Location excellent, private beach section, staff exceptionally helpful & friendly. I will return.****
