Great location, I stayed at the Arai section, next to the Onsen, convenient. The hotel has a buffet breakfast and 5 restaurants to choose from. If you get the package deal then all of the breakfast and dinners are covered.
The mountain is serviced but a single main gondola with quad chairs that take you in different directions. Casts amount of off piste areas but the piste is a little less.

The resort is amazing. Facilities are great and clean. We will be coming back .
值得5星滑雪度假村的评级…Ski in & out
Highly recommend live in Lodge building: old money style, very comfortable
Great location for skiing. It’s a short walk from the ski room to the gondola.
We enjoyed the restaurants and onsen.
This is a quiet place.
We had a fantastic week of skiing with fresh snow on five consecutive days. Nearly all of the terrain is off-piste so good snow is needed to access most runs.
Very good ski resort. Check-in after 3 PM, check-out before 11 AM.
The facilities are excellent, but the dryer is too old. It costs a lot and takes a long time to dry clothes. I'd recommend not doing laundry here. Some staff members are poorly trained and can't answer basic questions. Even when I just tried to book the shuttle bus, they gave me a lot of conflicting information, showing a lack of communication. I borrowed a locker for my ski gear, but the next day...

Lunch in the restaurant was nice but nothing to rave about the food for the price, wine was very expensive and not great. Our massage after made up for everything thing though as it was amazing.
This was my second time staying at this hotel. Last time I only stayed one day, this time I stayed two. September is off-season, and booking two days in advance was RMB 500 more expensive than booking separately. This hotel is very weather-sensitive; I recommend canceling if it's cloudy or rainy for several days in a row. On my first day, visibility was very low due to heavy rain, and the fog outside...
This is my favorite hotel, and I think my July stay was my 10th. Because it's far from Tokyo, I usually stay here once or twice a year, but this year I stayed back in June and July. It takes over five hours by car, but when I arrived and took in the views from the lobby, my room, the Aqua Terrace, and the open-air bath, I thought, "Akakura Kanko Hotel is truly amazing." I ate Japanese food at Aqua...
The hotel was clean, and although many of the staff were trainees, they were relatively friendly and I thought it was worth the price. Here are a few things that bothered me: The breakfast buffet at Shirakaba had a variety of options, but none of them were particularly tasty. The French toast, which used to be made to order, was now pre-made, which I didn't feel like eating. This was my first time...
The prices are high, but you always know that it's well worth it. The best is the main building, which gives you a sense of the weight of history. The unobtrusive, unassuming renovation has made it even more comfortable.
Dinner at the French restaurant Sorbier is always so appealing that I'm interested. Even if I stay multiple nights, I always end up ordering it here. I'm not sure why the popular consomm...
This hotel was a nice surprise! A warm atmosphere and a great welcome at reception. All the staff are very helpful and kind... Discreet and efficient! 3 different restaurants to vary the menus, the one in the new part is just magnificent with the view of the valley and the water basin all around. Practical lockers for ski equipment which open directly onto the slopes... a real ski in / ski out. The...

Loved the hotel and onsen
Loved the food and staff
Perfect location
Authentic Japanese hotel
Everything about this hotel was perfect, except for its location being a bit far from the ski lifts. I mainly chose this hotel because it's one of the few in Nozawa Onsen with private bathrooms. The dinners were incredibly generous every night. The room temperature was just right, heated by AC but never cold. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.
Best hotel ever, highly recommend to all friends, especially for the families with kids, child friendly!
I feel like we got the best surprise as I was unsure what we were expecting.
The room space is cozy but just enough for a family.
The service is exceptional, the staff are friendly and helpful.
The buffet breakfast is really good and dinner was exceptional with many courses and changing everyday.
We had a great experience here. It's a long walk to the slopes, but we knew that before we arrived. The staff were friendly and helpful, our Japanese style room was spacious and comfortable.
This hotel delivers everything you want from a family holiday. Although it is situated away from the centre of the village, we found this to be an advantage for our family, preferring a quiet location. Only 5 mins walk to the Chuo main terminal, where you can catch the free local shuttle bus to the ski fields. Getting to the hotel from Iiyama station was also easy via Nagaden Bus No.9 from bus stop...

Very impressed, everything was prepared in the room, and there were also things provided, very good value.
Driving is difficult, so I recommend other forms of transportation. We booked a suite, which was very spacious and perfect for a large group.
We stayed 2 nights in this hotel and had a fantastic time. Great location, right in the center of town and 3 minutes from the bus station. Very clean, confortable beds, and the onsen is perfect too. The lady who run the place is super nice and full of great tips and idea for things to do. Highly recommended and would definitely stay there again.
Great location, just off the main road. About 10 mins walk to travelator. We stored rental skis and boots at rental shop at top of travelator. We had a western room with 6 beds and kitchen. Can fill in a form to have groceries delivered. Kitchen worked well. Staff very helpful. Drop one star in the room due to echoing noise. Free washing machine and dryer. 2x Private onsen. Drying room and ski room
Great place to stay. Right at the center of the village. 10 minutes from gondola and 5 minutes from bus station. There's an indoor onsen 24 hours. The rooms are cozy, warm, comfortable, and clean. There is a small kitchen, a fridge, and a nespresso machine. Each room has also a TV with Apple TV! Highly recommended!
Great accommodation. Friendly staff. Kitchen in the room. The TV also had and Apple TV box that allowed me to surf the net and watch a lot of things. The hotel is 3m from the bus stop and 7mins from the slopes. Really good

Tawaraya is a very nice Ryokan and Onsen in the small town of Yudanaka. While not very distinctive from the outside, the interior is very quaint. The rooms are traditional Japanese tatami rooms with futons and low tables, and ours had a private western-style toilet attached (with all the Japanese gadgets that are the norm!). There is no private shower or bath attached to the room, however the main...
Google Maps navigation was inaccurate, constantly changing between front and back streets. It took me 20 minutes and several questions to find the right place. They should change the picture of the main gate and put the sign inside.
The heating would automatically turn off. I woke up cold the first night because I had to wait until the next morning to find someone to restart it. They explained it...
Some of the best customer service we've ever experienced. Ms. Abe was wonderful and her English was excellent. The outdoor onsen was perfect, truly beautiful. A big, well landscaped area, truly relaxing. All guests get to reserve 30 minutes of private use each evening, which was wonderful, but you can also go back during men's time, women's time, or mixed if you want to enjoy some more. The breakfast...
We book this ryokan at the end of our stay in Japan, we thought we still have the energy to go to shiga kogen after snow monkey and just sleep at the ryokan, but I was wrong. We are so tired and decided to be at this ryokan the whole stay. Good thing they had reservation for private outdoor onsen for 30mins.
Pros:
Private outdoor onsen for 30mins by schedule. And the place is perfect, its like the...
The boss's service is very considerate and thoughtful! The room is very clean, the outdoor hot spring, the environment is very good
This traditional Ryokan hotel is a little gem of a place and the family hosts are just wonderful. Had the best night sleep of my 2 week trip to Japan sleeping on Ryokan bed. Rooms and hotel is extremely clean, we had our own toilet and washbasin but you have to share showers which wasn't an issue. The family are so friendly, speak very good English. It's a short walk (10mins) to Shibu-Onsen...

The hotel is clean, nice view from the room. Ski in ski out is very convenient, locker is big enough to store 3 sets of equipments. Main drawback is no more free shuttle from the hotel to Ichinose starting March 22 and limited dining places in the hotel.
Good location, but small and old room. Overall still quite good. Recommended for ski in ski out
Everything is find and meet our expectation. Ski in ski out the hotel, free locker, also have onsen. No adverse comment and experience. It’s much convenient if you drive to hotel. Not much F&B choice. Ski gears quality are quite good in hotel rental shop. Room is small if u choose the cheapest type of room. However, it is worth to stay.
Had a nice experience here. The rooms had heating and windows that could open, which was great. There was hot water for showers whenever we needed it. We stayed for 4 nights in total and the rooms were cleaned on two days. If you need more towels on the non-cleaning days you can just ask the reception. The staff there were very helpful too.
One thing that wasn’t great was that the room lights were...
service and environment is good, however too expensive, i would expect better facilities for this price
The ski-in/ski-out access at this hotel is incredibly convenient. The hotel also boasts a wide range of facilities. After a day of skiing, you can relax and soothe your tired muscles in the hot spring. Everything was great, except for the limited selection at the hotel's convenience store.

Front service particularly senior ones are not friendly. It’s far from lift place. Not a ski in and out place. Plus you can’t use lift to store your boards. You have to wear boots to walk down and up two floors. Surely not convenient. BTW food is bad.
Hotel is old, there was signs of termite infection that was cleared.
Food was ok.
Service was excellent, really everyone there was very helpful!
Good location 300m to ski chairs.
Service oriented hotel with friendly staff and ski in ski out options to the highest mountain in Nagano (also has a ski/snowboard school with kind boss)
Breakfast and Dinner options were plentiful and varied spread which is a better option for room with meals options as there isn’t much open by 5pm in the vicinity.
Self drove up and takes 30min to navigate the road whilst bus would prob take an hour...
A bit old-fashioned, but the room was spacious. The food was just okay. It's a five-minute walk to the Yokoteyama ropeway station.
Great place, super close to the ski resort
Take cash! No atms close
Shiga Palace Hotel is a great choice for its location alone—set right in the mountains, it offers easy access to the surrounding area and beautiful scenery that really adds to the experience. One of the highlights was the buffet meals. The food was plentiful, varied, and satisfying, making it easy to refuel after a long day of exploring.
The rooms were very traditional Japanese style, which felt authentic...

Check-in and check-out times are really outrageous at this hotel. For what you are paying, I believe, is mainly the hot springs, easy ski rentals (extra fee) and depends if you choose their food or not, but the breakfast is very short time. The rooms look and are very cheap. Their pillows feel like worthy of $10 value. The bathroom area is not dimmable. The check-out time is at 10am unless you pay...
The Western food and service were both good. However, the kids' menu didn't change much. The Japanese food selection wasn't very extensive.
Awesome resort. Have free refreshments after ski and at night.
The hotel is a bit old and has many rules, and the view is just average. The Japanese restaurant is decent, but the food is nothing special. It's a bit far from the ski resort. The hot springs are nice and clean, though. The facilities could definitely use an upgrade.
The hotel service was great, and the hot springs were fantastic – loved the milk too! The East Wing is more convenient for accessing the public hot springs. However, I have to complain about the restaurant. There was a typo on the menu (appetizer listed as '24mouth' instead of '24month'), and when I kindly pointed it out, they acted as if I was deliberately looking for trouble. The shrimp on the second...
The hotel's dining is definitely a highlight, especially dinner, which rivals some Michelin-starred restaurants, featuring a generous use of local ingredients. The afternoon tea popcorn and jam cheese were also delicious, and there's a free flow of red wine, white wine, sake, and various teas.
I also recommend booking the silk bath early; having it to myself for nearly an hour was fantastic.

Actually didn’t went here but we requested for a cancellation twice and the hotel didn’t get back to us.
We really loved our stay here for 5 nights in February. Cozy, friendly and a super well organised set up for skiers and boarders (including arrival pick up and drop off from bus stop). We had a 6 person family traditional room for only 2 of us, so lots of space and the ability to sleep on doubled up futons, which was fine for us. Our western frames aren't made for easily getting up and down on the...
I had a great stay here. Location is great, less than 5 minutes from the Iwatake slopes. They have a ski-in/ski-out facility - a rear door leads to a snow-covered path that leads to the slopes. Tatami beds. Great onsen within the hotel, with indoor and a lovely outdoor bath. Staff are warm and helpful. Would stay again.
Fantastic location, 3 minute walk to Iwatake ski fields, rooms and facilities are clean and tidy, staff are phenomenal so friendly and accommodating 👌🏼
3 minutes walk to Iwatake gondola lift. On site dinners are delicious. Onsen is really nice. Facilities are a bit old but well maintained. Staffs are very friendly. Only downside is that there are not many restaurants around here.
The staff seemed to be mostly part-time foreigners; they were very friendly and had a strong service attitude. The facilities include a hot stone sauna and a private hot spring! It was very relaxing to rest and rejuvenate after skiing! Although the location is a bit inconvenient for those without a car, there are plenty of places to eat nearby, including a small cafe. I really liked it and would consider...

We stayed as a group of 6. Very comfortable, spacious, modern and well equipped place. Nice drying room. Subscriptions on TV. Excellent value compared to equal places in Australia (probably around half the price)
Amazing accommodation, clean, heated floors, well equipped kitchen. Has a ensuite in the master bed, and then seperate bathroom and toilet. Large drying room with washer and dryer. Tea coffee, detergent, washing powder included.
They also provided a van which was invaluable for getting around Hakuba. (Apparently they will stop this due to COVID but I hope they don't because it really sets them...

Best hotel you can get there. Near the kokusai lift, rhytm rental. Very good breakfast!
I stayed in this hotel during snowboarding. The staffs were friendly, helpful, and professional. The breakfast was delightful and the dinner was great. I appreciated the ski and snowboard rental service. The room was very impressive.
Lovely hotel in the middle of Hakuba. Location is a little secluded and without a car, it takes some effort to get to the city or around. We were happy to stay and chill at the hotel though. Opted for half board (Dinner provided) Super convenient with the ski rental on site, and shuttle buses to ski resorts provided.
Onsen: newly refurbished and amazing!
Breakfast and Dinner : was pleasantly surprised...
Excellent and cozy hotel. However, the receptionist's service was a bit gruff, and my room was dirty. There were a lot of cookie crumbs under the beds, a lot of hair, and almost 20 ladybugs in the room, especially behind the curtains. Aside from the receptionist's service, the rest of the staff were very attentive.
The hotel offers fridge rental service, and during ski season, there's a free shuttle bus to major ski resorts, making transportation quite convenient. There are three restaurants to choose from within the hotel, but unfortunately, one was under renovation this time. The hotel's hot spring provides a wonderfully relaxing space after a day of skiing.
Hakuba Tokyu Hotel boasts an excellent location, conveniently close to Happo One Ski Resort, with a free shuttle service making it ideal for winter ski trips. The hotel's European castle-style design is grand and impressive, and the rooms are spacious and clean. The public onsen bath is perfect for relaxation, and the breakfast buffet offers a rich and diverse selection. Both the French and Japanese...

Amazing stay at Coutyard in Hakuba, they guided us in every inquiry and the hotel has everything you need to skyin
The best part about this hotel was definitely the breakfast – they had everything from Japanese to Western options. I especially loved the soba noodles and the fried eggs. The coffee was good too, and they offered various egg rolls. The room itself was quite spacious; we had no trouble fitting our two large suitcases. However, the bathroom was a bit small, feeling somewhat disproportionate to the rest...
It was a lovely get away and welcomed us with food and onion soup. There was a 24 7 onsen in our room and it was quite relaxing.
Free shuttle for pick and drop off from station and bus terminal. Ski shuttle is convenient at doorstep of hotel.
Dear Mr. Nakamura,
I would like to take a moment to commend your front desk staff member, AWO, for her excellent service during our stay at Courtyard Marriott Hakuba.
