Best Hotels in Nagano

I was impressed by their Zero Waste policy; instead of plastic bottles in the room, they provide glassware and a convenient water dispenser located right by the elevator

There were a sauna and 2 onsen available, and one of them was open-air. We booked a traditional style classic room, and it completely exceeded my expectations

The room was incredibly spacious, offering exceptional value for the price. The hotel maintains a peaceful and quiet atmosphere, which I truly appreciated

The amenities were comprehensive, and the service was outstanding—truly upholding the high standards of the Mercure brand. Parking is plentiful and hassle-free

While the furniture and carpets show some slight signs of age, the overall comfort remains high

Also, there are no street lamps around the area near this hotel at night, so definitely bring a good flashlight. If possible, renting a car is highly recommended

The train station had about 4 floors of stores attached to it. We had breakfast at the train station -- a small udon stand. The location was very good and I would definitely book here again

Location: It's super convenient, directly connected to the mall and Nagano Station from the 2nd floor. Facilities: The hotel is a bit old, but it's very clean and spacious, so it felt quite good

The Good: You cannot beat the location. Being directly connected to Nagano Station is a total game-changer, especially if you’re hauling ski gear or catching an early Shinkansen

Nearby are several convenience stores, bus stations, restaurants. Easy access to popular spots like the Snow Monkey Park, Togakushi Shrine, and more. For the convenience, location, and cleanliness, it’s worth it

The rooms are spacious, quiet, and the staff is incredibly professional. The Bad: The breakfast buffet is the biggest letdown. While the quality of the food is fine, the menu is extremely repetitive

But the staff, fortunately, were able to find us a replacement for a non-smoking room, yes, less, yes one big bed instead of two, but with stunning mountain views and a coffee machine

Supermarket nearby with good supplies.Comfortable place to stay too but it is a bit far from the station. It is like a 10-15 minutes walk from there.

The room was originally wrong, it was reserved for smokers, even though we don't smoke, the room was given the appropriate one, the smell in it was just not very good, like for those who don't smoke at all, it started already on the floor

The room was standard Toyoko Inn style, and the breakfast was good! It's also convenient for visiting nearby Togakushi and the Snow Monkey Park!

Shuttle bus service from Nagano Station is a bonus! Close enough to attractions by car, parking is abundant paid 1000yen for 2 days parking. Breakfast spread is pretty good

Some details had deteriorated over time, but they were cleaned up. At this price, we'd definitely return! This is highly recommended if you visit Zenkoji

It’s about 15mins walk from Nagano Station to Hotel, but hotel offer shuttle bus.

Shuttle bus available for transfers. Very close to Zenko-ji Temple. Super convenient.

I stayed in a double room in the tower. The room was relatively large, and the bed was a spacious, full-size queen

This hotel feels like a small but excellent value-for-money king, completely exceeding expectations. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but the quality and taste are excellent

They also offer complimentary noodles in the evening. The hot spring water quality is superb, and after a soak, there are various popsicles and ice creams available. The massage chairs are also incredibly comfortable

When check in time, the staff is not friendly. Price is too expensive. Cannot keep luggage even for 1 day is the worst and inconvenience. The good thing is the free ramen and has facitily for onsen and sauna

Plus points for walkability to Zenkoji Temple, or you can take the bus right outside Dormy Inn. Would give this 10 stars if I could. the lift has a chair to sit down. Oddly perfect addition I never knew I needed 😆

Close to the station this hotel is convenient a d easy to find. Overall good experience minus a slightly tedious check-in, I think the attendant was new or was not used to dealing with foreigners.

Dormy is so amazing 🤩 Location is right outside Nagano Station, filled with many cute shops and quaint Izakayas. We loved the free night ramen which was perfect after a cold day out

The large public bath was very comfortable. I would like to use it again when I visit Nagano.

I chose a plan that included meals, and they prepared a variety of Nagano specialties, which were delicious. The large public bath was small, which was a bit disappointing

It also seems like you have to share towels, which might be inconvenient for people staying multiple nights

Amenities at lobby were good enough to get by too, PJs provided at each room floor. Good stopover if you are going for a day trip to the Snow Monkey Park

Location is crazy good! Have level 2 link bridge to hotel directly from JR station. Nearby have many restaurants and same building with donki.

It's within walking distance of Zenjiko shrine, which is large and free to enter. The station is right across the street and offers many restaurants and a grocery store. For convenience, it's a good option

Tokyu Rei hotel is conveniently located right across the street from Nagano station. The rooms are of a good enough size for a short stay for a couple, single, or family with young kids

The beds are comfortable and the room clean. If staying a night or two to experience the Snow Monkey Park and the city of Nagano and it's surroundings, it's a good option

The soundproofing is pretty good. Although the room isn't huge, it was sufficient for three people, and the cleanliness was also quite good.

Location is excellent right in the heart of the city and opposite the station. There's convenience store and Don Quijote 1 min walk away. Staff were generally polite and helpful

The hotel's distance from Nagano JR station is decent. On our first day, it snowed, and navigation led us down a difficult side road. I'd recommend sticking to the main road; it's quite convenient and not much further

We have limited Japanese and no Japanese phone number and they even called our next hotel to help arrange us getting their shuttle bus which we would not have managed alone

Just average room Good reception which is not in entrance, you need to search for it in second floor. English reception staff and other staff were very helpful. Peaceful public bath.

It was our second short stay and this time we had a twin room. The room was very spacious, which we appreciate as many rooms in Japan are fairly small. The little onsen is perfect for getting a deep cleanse after travels
