Hotels in Ueda

It has good public bath facility

Nice, clean place a short walk from the train station. Room is a good size for one person. I like that pajamas is provided.

Nice, clean place a short walk from the train station. Room is a good size for one person. I like that pajamas is provided.

I think it's passable as a business hotel. The facilities are old and the rooms are a little dark. It was nice to have a large public bath.

I wanted a bottled water in the room. Even though it's in front of the station, parking is expensive at 500 yen in Ueda. Breakfast was advertised as 1500 yen, but it actually cost 1800 yen. The internet is poorly maintained.

I stayed here for two days and one night! It was a very convenient hotel, about a five-minute walk from the station and close to tourist attractions! I think it's a good hotel for business trips or those who want to take their time strolling around the city!

Great location, close to the station and plenty of food options. Ample parking available and excellent service. The room was clean.

Big, clean and comfortable hotel right next to the train station. It has two parkings free of charge which is really convenient. The only thing i missed is that being a big hotel it would be great if it had some coin laundry machines.

The location was great; you can walk everywhere. Breakfast was very good.

I use it every month. The hotel has its own paper point card, which I look forward to collecting. You can also earn points on the hotel's plastic card. When I went in October, they added points to my plastic card, but this time, they wouldn't accept my card. I didn't understand why, which was very frustrating. And it's disappointing. I'm considering staying at a different hotel next year.

It's been a while since I've stayed at a hotel like this, so I really appreciated the free amenities. I had a great trip. Thank you.

Even though I made the reservation for the night, they upgraded my room for the same price! I hope to stay with you again if I have the opportunity!

The staff is very nice and helpful. And really close to the station

I have stayed here multiple times, it’s super convenient. Location is perfect, it’s very calm and clean place, good for business or vacation. Room size was just right for one luggage, if you have more, it will be impossible to open both at the same time.

I was very happy to receive a room upgrade upon check-in. The room was very clean and there was no strange smell that is common in hotels, so I had a very comfortable stay. The linens were also very soft and comfortable. I especially liked the pajama-style sleepwear, which came in separate tops and bottoms. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

All the people at the reception were always nice. The climate control was not the best.

This is my second time staying here. The price is reasonable, and the room is simple and comfortable. I had a good night's sleep. I'd like to stay here again the next time I visit Nagano.

I came here on a business trip, and it's a very clean, modern business hotel. It's a bit small, but it has everything you need. ^^ I'd definitely come back!

I believed the AI to say there was a sauna, but there wasn't one. 😭 The baths are alternated between men's and women's, so be careful not to enter after 8pm! The service is polite and excellent, and they provide newspapers on weekends, which is nice. However, the bathroom in my room smelled strongly of sewerage, probably due to mold. As for breakfast, other people had curry, but there wasn't any...

There are convenience stores and restaurants nearby, which is convenient. My impression of the hotel is that the parking lot is a bit small, there is only one elevator, so the wait time is long, and the front desk is on the second floor, so you have to get off the elevator, which takes even more time. The baths are alternated between men and women, which is a bit inconvenient. The room is reasonably...

Nagano Ueda Good ☆Free surface parking ☆Large public bath (not particularly large, though. Judging from the number of faucets at the sink, it probably only accommodates four people.) ☆Had dinner at the on-site restaurant. It may only be available for a limited time, but the self-service all-you-can-drink option was excellent. ☆Staff were very helpful. Bad ★The biggest negative point for me personally...

Stayed on September 13, 2025 I booked a single room through the official website for ¥9,300 per night, but the hotel kindly upgraded me to a twin room. Parking was available on-site, but it was a bit cramped and difficult for larger vehicles. There also appears to be a parking lot a little further north, but I'm not sure where it is. The front desk is on the second floor, and while I received a vending...

The time you want to use the facility is different depending on the gender.

The location is pretty good! If you want to go to Ueda Castle Ruins Park! Staying here is a relatively close hotel

I had impressed with the hospitality of staying and the catering at the hotel .

We had a truly unforgettable stay at Ryokan Nakamatsuya during our honeymoon. The level of customer service was exceptional. Although only one staff member spoke fluent English, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. He took the time to explain each dish during our first kaiseki dinner, which made the experience even more special and memorable. The rest of the staff, despite...

Clean, walkable from station (if no rain), spacious rooms, warm service, tasty food. Best was the fantastic roof top onsen view of the mountain town and forests! One of the staff Hoshino-san was helpful with his English & Mandarin translations.

Clean, tidy, and with attentive staff. A genuine hot spring. The food was delicious. They even upgraded our room. Great value for money. Highly recommend staying here.

Nakamatsuya is next to Shimoda. It takes 27 minutes to reach Bessho Onsen on the Bessho Line. Shimoda is a Shinkansen station. The Bessho Line runs about every half an hour. There is a free tour bus from the hotel on Saturdays and Sundays. It takes ten minutes to reach the hotel. If you don't walk uphill towards Guanyin in the north for ten minutes, or call the hotel and say they are at the station...

My location rating on this hotel heavily depends on the use case here. If you like to go sightseeing it might not be optimal, but if you like to relax in an onsen, enjoy traditional food, and go hiking in japanese mountains than this is as good as it gets. The room has a lot of space (im writing from another ryokan right now with approximately a quarter of the comfort...), you have your own bath, which...

It felt like a slightly old business hotel. It was about a 5-minute walk from Ueda Station, so the location was good.

The old room was very scary. I had to find another place to stay. I was very disappointed. 🥹

It's close to the station and cheap. It's enough for a place to stay.

As other people have said, it smells moldy. The facilities are old and it's a cheap hotel. The parking lot is hard to find and narrow, making it difficult to park.

Very close to the station, very convenient

I don't know if the room is too old or because smoking is allowed. There is a musty smell, which is quite unpleasant. The other TV remote controls are a little dirty. The breakfast is good, after all, for this price.

My husband and I chose this hotel to enjoy both hot springs and exercise over a multi-night stay. There's a friendly trainer on duty, so we feel safe, and there's even a 25-meter pool. However, the gym's machines are a little old and not well-maintained. It would be nice if they'd allocate a little more budget. I wish they'd had two treadmills. The staff at each facility are well-trained, so we have...

This time, the hospitality was the best. The only disappointment was that there were no toothbrushes, and the private bath and hot spring were lukewarm.

There were plenty of things to experience, like the gym, pool, and sports classes, so a longer stay would be ideal. I couldn't do everything in two nights and three days. I would have liked to have done a one-day tour (to Obuse Town, Mugonkan, etc.) if I had more time.

A hot spring resort (designated by the Environment Agency). There is a drinking area in the building. An example of a room on the "10th floor premium floor Kei-" that was opened in April 2020 with the idea of providing a more quality time for our guests. Saito Hotel Kakeyu Onsen Saito Hotel Let's start a relaxing adult trip. A new premium floor room with a hidden terrace surrounded by beautiful nature...

I think it's been renovated, but it still feels a bit dated. The buffet seems to be popular, but I don't think it's changed much.

It's a hot spring with a therapeutic feel, and compared to when I stayed there in the past, there were fewer guests and the hot spring town was deserted.

This was my first time staying here, and the front desk staff were friendly and kind, and above all, their smiles were wonderful.

It's close to the station, making it ideal for a stay without meals.

5 min from UEDA station. Hotel staff are friendly and kind. Facility is OK and clean.

Safe and good! Staff was good in english and it was enough for 1 person. The bed was kinda too hard and the walls were a little too loud.

It was conveniently located near the station.

Ideal for business people: The bed was big and the table was spacious, making this a very comfortable hotel for business people.

I travel a lot for business trips and got tired of business hotels, so I decided to stay at a ryokan for a change. It's located in the mountains, less than 30 minutes by car from downtown Ueda. Both dinner and breakfast are exquisitely seasoned and delicious! The portions are also very generous. Although the building is old, it's well-maintained and well-cleaned, and has a charm that reminds me of...

I stayed here on my way to the Nakasendo Walk. Since there are no hotels in Nagakubo-juku, this was a very important stop on my way to Wada Pass. It was close to a convenience store, and the breakfast was delicious with a huge selection of side dishes. They even gave me a room-only option. The guest rooms were pension-style, with no plumbing. However, with the sound of the water trickling through the...

The location is secluded, so it's very relaxing. I recommend taking a walk along the river if you wake up early in the morning. There are books and a refrigerator next to the guest room, and you can sit on the sofa and relax. 🍚The rice, vegetables, side dishes, and desserts are all delicious. WiFi is also available throughout the hotel. It was a comfortable stay. Thank you for your help.

Unexpectedly tasty food and hospitality. The family who runs this place is very sincere. I will come back again just for the food. The river fish is the best I’ve tasted in the many ryokans I stayed recently. The black mushroom smells so good that it leaves the taste in my mouth. High recommended.

Very nice host. Great food. Peaceful location.

The owner is very kind. It's quite tiring to walk from the station. You'll sweat a lot even after soaking in the hot spring, so you'll need to change clothes. They provide a shuttle service, so please ask them. Since it's located in a forest-like area, ants and spiders tend to get into the room. It's a bit disappointing that you can't easily go to the hot spring town.

the old man was very lovely, eager to help, and is quick to chat the futon were nice and fluffy, the place was very tidy and clean, and everything was just v comfy the road up is rather steep and narrow but not extremely challenging to drive up if it's clear — any snow at all, and you'll need good winter tires and all-wheel drive

An outstanding experience with this gentleman full of kindness and goodwill. We spent three nights in this magical and beautiful place, surrounded by nature and deer that visited morning and evening. An unforgettable moment!

Went last summer. The place is situated inside a scenic forest and the rooms were very clean. The road leading up to the hotel is quite narrow and steep. The owner was very kind. Definitely want to stay there again.

Very kind host. If you like serene, authentic Japanese house experience, this is it. It is a bit far from the station, but it was a nice walk

To find a Ryokan in a city is always a nice experience. But this is very special, in the middle of the forest, it is amazing. The service is more than excellent, Nishida-san is gentle, kind, guide my to a wonderful onsen that I could never find, also brought me and my family with his own car. From all me visit to Bessho-onsen, this is the most memorable.

This hotel is CONVENIENT. A very good base for venturing north to Nagano City and environs or south to Karuizawa, etc. (even by car to Matsumoto). Ueda is a also a stop on most shinkansen trains to/from Tokyo, so you could choose save over thirty minutes traveling to/fro Nagano to Ueda wihout paying a fortune. Breakfast and other perks like free potage soup in the reception area in the evening were...

Good price, Nice and clean. Very near to Jr station. Breakfast is good.

Good price, Nice and clean. Very near to Jr station. Breakfast is good.

Conveniently located near Ueda Station. Toyoko Inns are standardized, but they are relatively new and clean. I liked that they had curry for breakfast.

Small cities, The hotel is 100 metres from the station. Close, very close. The room size is ok. The breakfast is average, but it's filling and I can accept it. Just can we not use disposable lunch boxes? The hotel is in a good location, only 400 meters away from Ueda Castle. There is a sushi restaurant 150 metres from the hotel. 500 meters from the hotel is Tenjin Shopping Center (for shopping and...

Very poor service attitude, low cost performance

Amazing hotel. Really peaceful and tranquil. Friendly staff. The onsen was relaxing.

I stayed at a nearby izakaya (Japanese-style bar) and didn't get a dinner plan, but I still felt that 10,000 yen was an incredible deal for this quality. The room, bath, and service were all perfect for a trip with friends.

My wife and I traveled to Bessho Onsen to wrap up our visit to Nagano, and we chose Nanjyo Ryokan as our place to stay. The bathhouses were clean and relaxing, the rooms were comfy and spacious, and the staff was beyond kind. When we left the next day, I accidentally left my passport behind. The staff promptly contacted us to let us know, but we did not notice until after we already arrived at our...

Typical Japanese tavern with decent layout. Decorations and music is good at lobby hall. Service is nice but room is old, food is normal. The place locates at famous Bessho hot spring, traffic is not convenient without many sightseeings around.

Excellent place to stay. The water is 100% natural hot spring without circulation. The water is clear with sulfur smell. The food is served in a hall and tastes very good. Some rooms have private bathrooms with 100% natural hot spring. The staffs are really very nice.

We stayed a week at Nanjyo Ryokan and had a very pleasant stay in Bessho Onsen thanks in large part to Katsuki Ide, who helped us with our online reservation and made certain that we had a wonderful stay. Our Japanese style room was lovely: very spacious with a view of the (small) garden which you can visit on your way to the public baths. (Be sure to take advantage of the Shampoo Bar in the women...
