Reviews
The baths are alternated between men's and women's, so be careful not to enter after 8pm!
The service is polite and excellent, and they provide newspapers on weekends, which is nice. However, the bathroom in my room smelled strongly of sewerage, probably due to mold.
As for breakfast, other people had curry, but there wasn't any, so I was disappointed. I wish they had more local food!
However, the room entrance did not auto-lock, so it had to be locked, which was inconvenient. To turn on the lights, you had to insert and turn the room key, which was a bit stressful as you couldn't see your hands when the lights were off.
Also, there was a notice about massages in the room, but when I inquired at the front desk, I was told that the hotel does not offer massage services.
The notice was misleading, so I wish they had either removed it or displayed the information more accurately.
Good
☆Free surface parking
☆Large public bath (not particularly large, though. Judging from the number of faucets at the sink, it probably only accommodates four people.)
☆Had dinner at the on-site restaurant. It may only be available for a limited time, but the self-service all-you-can-drink option was excellent.
☆Staff were very helpful.
Bad
★The biggest negative point for me personally! No individual air conditioning! ‼️Centralized air conditioning. (It's not a Route Inn, but I've had many bad experiences with centralized air conditioning, including a January trip to Okinawa where it reached 28°C and they told me they only had heating.) It was a scorching hot day, so the air conditioning was adequate, but for me, centralized air conditioning is a major negative.
★The front desk is on the second floor. I got off the elevator on the second floor to check in and out, but there was only one elevator, so I had to wait a long time when I checked out.
★Some people say there are many restaurants nearby, but that's mostly chain restaurants that require car access, which is common in regional cities. There are "almost" no restaurants within walking distance that are suitable for those who want to drink. You can either stay at the Route Inn in front of the station or go to the restaurant in the hotel.
I booked a single room through the official website for ¥9,300 per night, but the hotel kindly upgraded me to a twin room.
Parking was available on-site, but it was a bit cramped and difficult for larger vehicles. There also appears to be a parking lot a little further north, but I'm not sure where it is.
The front desk is on the second floor, and while I received a vending machine coin as an official reservation perk upon check-in, the vending machine was on the third floor, and my room was even higher up, which was inconvenient.
There was only one elevator, so I had to wait depending on the time of day.
My room was a twin, spacious enough for one person. There were two outlets on the desk, one on the bed, and two on the wall facing the refrigerator.
Outside noise wasn't a problem, but I could clearly hear the noise, probably from guests upstairs.
The door doesn't auto-lock, so I had to lock and unlock it myself each time.
There's no closet, and the unit bathroom is small and dark. Since there is a large public bath, this wouldn't normally be a problem, but the large bath here is only one that is alternated between men and women, and unfortunately on this day the schedule meant I couldn't take the morning bath, which was disappointing.
The Wi-Fi signal was stable, although it seemed a little slow because everyone had been using it from around 9pm.
The large bath and breakfast venue are on the first floor, and breakfast starts at 6:30am, but I was grateful that they opened it about five minutes before. It was a predictable Route Inn breakfast, but perhaps it was just my imagination, but the selection seemed a little limited.
It was understandable as we were staying on the first day of a three-day weekend, but I felt that the price and facilities were not commensurate, and I think they should renovate it sooner, including the flow of people around.
I was confused because there was no explanation that I couldn't use the electricity in the room unless I inserted the key into the wall after entering the room.
