Daiwa Roynet Hotel Wakayama, Wakayama1 / 28

I am very pleased with my stay in this hotel! The hotel is easy to find with driving, and I could park in the parking garage across at 1000 yen per day. The check in was fast and front desk staff speaks so English and very helpful. The hotel location is excellent and is right across from the Wakayama castle. The hotel is very new, and the beddings and furnitures all in excellent condition. There...
Wakayama Castle is right at your doorstep, and it's super convenient to catch the Tama Densha (train). The location is fantastic. There's a Don Quijote about a 700m walk away, which is great for shopping. The room was clean and tidy. This was my second stay, and I'll definitely choose this place again next time I visit.
Highly recommend this great hotel!!! Clean, big room, super nice view (wakayama castle right outside the window), very convenient location with ¥1000 parking (24 hrs) right opposite the hotel. Breakfast was superb and would definitely choose Daiwa Roynet Hotels in next visits to Japan.
The location of the Wakayama Daiwa Hotel is excellent, right across from Wakayama Castle. If you're staying in the autumn, I highly recommend spending half a day exploring the castle. The hotel's breakfast restaurant offers a scenic view. The hotel itself is very new, and the service is also great.
The location is not the most central, but it is right next to Wakayama Castle, which is a big plus. In the evening, it’s very pleasant to take a walk around the castle area — quiet, scenic, and relaxing. There are bus stops nearby, making it fairly convenient to get around, though buses do not run very frequently. It’s best to check the schedule on Google Maps in advance. On the ground floor, there...
Very comfortable hotel room. Close to Wakayama Castle (our room. An even view the castle). The staff is nice and helpful.

The hotel is right outside JR Wakayama Station, which is super convenient. The room itself is pretty standard for a business hotel, and it was clean enough. It's a solid choice for a short trip.
location very good just beside the wakayama station , just a mins walk....the hotel is link with the shopping mall...staff very friendly can speak chineses very well...i reach the hotel around 12.30 noon they so good can give me check in early and get the room....excellent hotel....will stay again if i in wakayama...in 7th is have a roof top
The hotel is conveniently located just 100 meters from the train station, and the Kansai Airport limousine bus stops right downstairs. There's a large shopping mall directly below the hotel, with plenty of dining options nearby. There was a minor issue with my reserved room, but Trip.com handled it excellently. Overall, it's a very good hotel.
The hotel boasts a super convenient location, right next to JR Wakayama Station and Kintetsu Department Store. The shopping street is also nearby, making dining, shopping, and sightseeing incredibly easy. While the hotel facilities are a bit older, the room size is actually quite good; our twin room was a decent size.
This hotel is super convenient, just a 5-minute walk from JR Wakayama Station. The bus stops are right between the station and the hotel, and you can even buy the 1000 yen Wakayama bus one-day pass right after you exit the JR station. The sofa bed in the triple room was decent, but it was a bit of a shame there were no female skincare products provided. Breakfast was just okay. In September, I visited...
This was the best value-for-money hotel of our trip to Japan. It's super convenient for getting around with the subway and buses right outside, and there are attractions and supermarkets nearby. The room wasn't even that small. Highly recommend!

It’s on the opposite side of the main entrance of wakayama station, takes 5mins to get there. It has breakfast included so It’s pretty worthy.
the service is within the standard for business hotel. the breakfast is nice and got some varieties. the room is clean. it is very close to the JR station so you will hear the song from JR train all night :D
Near JR.wakayama 500m Good breakfast
Whenever I go to Japan, Toyoko Inn is always my top choice. The included breakfast makes it incredibly good value for money. Looking forward to my next stay!
Free breakfast was provided, but there's room for improvement in the details. The pillows were a bit uncomfortable and too high. Also, the curtains weren't floor-length, which meant light leaked in early in the morning and disrupted my sleep. On the plus side, it's very close to JR Wakayama Station, but I feel like staying near Wakayama Castle might be a better option.

Nearby to train station and easy to find the hotel; right along the main road. Provided ramen for supper ; onsen bath was great… breakfast spread was really plentiful. Pudding in room…
Location very good, just walk straight outside the train station. A bus stop is just in front of the inn
Facilities: The facilities are comprehensive, with a public bath on the top floor. I arrived back late, so it wasn't crowded when I went for a soak at night. The only downside is that the room is a bit small, not as spacious as the hotels near Wakayama-shi Station. Cleanliness: Quite clean. Service: The service was excellent. We arrived at the hotel in the morning to check in, and even though it...
I liked the hotel, tasty breakfast, nice interior. I also liked the lounge on the 2nd floor, free massage chairs, ice cream, probiotic drinks. The changing room in onsen is fine, the onsen itself is convenient, well decorated. However, it seemed that cleaning service overdid their job and chloride smell was strong in the onsen. In women zone there are 2 baths with 40+ °C, sauna and 1 bath with colder...
Not far from the JR station, it's about a 7-minute walk straight down the main road after exiting (even with luggage). The hotel entrance is small and easy to miss. The highlight of this hotel is the free ice cream after enjoying the hot spring, and complimentary ramen served after 9 PM. Plus, the breakfast is very rich and delicious.
Nice location (very close to JR Wakayama station in walking distance). The staff are nice and helpful. The onsen experience is good though the area is small but it is hygienic. Free snacks (ice sticks) and massager are nice to have. Room is comfortable and clean.

Smile Hotel Wakayama is conveniently located right beside Wakayama Castle, making it a great choice for sightseeing and exploring the area. Overall, we had a good stay and a pleasant experience. Although the hotel’s renovation and interior are slightly outdated, the room was still clean and comfortable. Considering the price and the excellent location, it is more than acceptable and offers great value...
Breakfast is so nice! It is a good experience to enjoy your meal with the scenery :)
I stayed for two consecutive nights. **Facilities:** It's a budget hotel, but the facilities are complete and well-equipped. There are several vending machines in the lobby. **Cleanliness:** Very clean. If you stay for two consecutive days, it seems they don't actively clean on the second day. **Service:** The front desk staff offered service with a smile.
No convenient store nearby. They refused to let us reserve parking but when we arrived, there was like only 1 other car. No amenities like facial lotion.
The hotel has convenient location, the staff were nice and the room was as expected. Good value

Situated very near to Wakayama station, off a side street. Room met expectations for the price. Breakfast was included, with a wide selection. Overall no complaints
This hotel is incredibly convenient, right next to Wakayama JR Station. It's new, and the complimentary breakfast is decent and filling. You can catch the Tamaden train (Tama train) to see the cat stationmaster right from Platform 9 of the JR station. Plus, there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, making it super easy to grab a bite or do some shopping!
The location is pefect, only 2mins walking to a Shopping Complex, where you can buy cheaper food in the food street. Basically we are going thru the Shopping Complex from the hotel to train/ bus station, a lil bit confused in the first place, but get used to it after few attempts. We couldnt buy the ticket for the movies in the TV from the ticket machine, and the Netflix is not allowable in the room...

Environment: The hotel is conveniently located near Wakayama JR Station, with plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. This is a great hotel to stay at Wakayama, it’s near the train station and shopping mall. Easy to get foods around this hotels the hotel also provides free healthy breakfast for guest and welcome drinks for 24 hours at the library and you can read book here if you understand Japanese.
Less than a 5-minute walk from JR Wakayama Station, the location is incredibly convenient. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and the disposable slippers provided were a nice touch. The hotel is located right above the train station, offering a nice river view from the window. The lobby isn't huge but it's well-equipped. The area around the hotel gets pretty quiet at night with not many shops open. Being right above the station makes it really convenient for getting around.
Very nice experience. The hotel is clean and nicely decorated, the staff is very welcoming and helpful. The room was comfortable and quiet. We also enjoyed the sky spa: very clean, very good amenities . Overall a great and relaxing stay.
Right next to the station, which is very convenient. There's a supermarket, pharmacy, and plenty of dining options downstairs. The price is reasonable, and breakfast is pretty good too. Getting here from Osaka by car is quite easy. It's just that Wakayama as a whole doesn't have much to offer in terms of attractions.
The view of the king bedroom allows you to see the river which is great. The skyline spa offers good views and great comfortability.  The only things to pay attention to are the Queen bedroom is quite small and the men spa is too crowded during busy hours
Spacious room, good view, nice outdoor roof onsen, helpful staff, right beside train station
The location is super convenient, with a direct train from Kansai Airport right to the hotel entrance. There's a supermarket and restaurants downstairs, and Wakayama Castle is just a 10-15 minute walk away, along with some highly-rated local restaurants. The rooftop open-air bath was a highlight; I went every evening – it was incredibly relaxing and comfortable.

The location is quite good, right by the sea. On a nice day, you can catch the sunset. The room is a bit dated, especially the carpet which is really old. However, they provide free tickets to a nearby hot spring, which is definitely worth trying. It felt like a hot spring with a lot of local character.
Calmnes, quite, relaxing, beautiful views.. Staff are kind, breakfast is good and quality foods..
The location is far from the city centre. If you are not driving it is a bit difficult to find restaurants, except if you wanna eat in the hotel. The location is not far from the fish market, maybe 5 mins walking distance. The hotel looks old but has good maintenance and it has superb scenery as near yachts pier.
Very nice hotel, access to close by onsen/spa in room price included, even for the departure day.
Room is spacious. Electronic check-out process is fast. Breakfast is tasty with tuna, fresh blended juices, different tastes of preserved pulms which is local food of Wakayama.

The bed was so comfortable I fell asleep right away. Lol The front desk staff were very polite and kind. Thank you very much.
I had planned to go to the Expo, but Osaka city is expensive, and I'd never been to Wakayama, so I chose this hotel near Wakayamashi Station with the intention of exploring Wakayama Castle. All the amenities were provided, but it was a shame that there were no slippers. There was also coffee and a water server in the lobby. The building is a bit old, but for the price and quality, I guess that...
Excellent, quiet hotel. The bed is comfortable, the air conditioning is quiet. The hotel has been renovated, and all the amenities are new. There's a refrigerator and kettle. There are chairs and a table for working on the computer. The Wi-Fi is excellent. There's a 7-Eleven store nearby.
The room size is acceptable considering the price. Toilet is small , good for 1 person. Seems that there are more locals than foreigners staying there. Free coffee at the lobby. Walking distance to the JR station . Good for budget travellers. Overall not too bad a hotel.
Ok value if you need to live near the Nankai Wakayamashi Station (not JR Wakayama Station), or you plan to go to Kata. The room is perfectly fine for one person, the toilet is a bit small but usable. You have all the amentites you need from the amentites bar at the lobby. The only downside is that there are no shops near the hotel, you have to eat or buy near the station.

A lazy person will hate the location. I loved sincce it was near the castle and garden. Some killer local bars and food nearby.
There was a supermarket nearby, which was convenient, but it was a little far from the station, which was inconvenient.
It's very convenient and clean because it's in the city center. The staff are also friendly. Highly recommended for those coming to Wakayama.
For 1 night and location this is a great deal. Staff were friendly! I loved how there was tea available. Compared to other smoking room in APA hotels, it wasn't as cleaned and still smelled of smoke. The sheets and bathroom were clean.
overall the room was good just the floor seemed a little unclean but the bathroom was very clean. though there is no free parking available you can get a ticket of 20 hour parking for 800 jpy.

The hotel was really nice. The front desk staff were very friendly and confident, and check-in was very easy. The room wasn’t very big, but it was very clean, and a lot of small details made it feel really thoughtful. I’d definitely come back here again. Wakayama is really beautiful.
I stayed here when I went to Wakayama for work. The room was clean and somewhat spacious, so I was able to relax. It's absolutely fine for a business trip. I'll stay here again if I go to Wakayama again.
The facilities are adequate, nothing special. The hotel's location is convenient. The buffet breakfast is very simple, not very plentiful. However, the staff are quite polite and friendly.
The location of the hotel is good. Very close to the Exit A of the Wakayama JR station. The breakfast is not bad and the varieties are good enough. The size of the room is reasonable
The hotel staff are very friendly. If you drive, you'll have to park in a nearby coin-operated lot, which is a bit inconvenient. It's also conveniently located just three minutes from JR Wakayama Station.

Looking at the building, I wondered if it was okay...it's undeniably old, but it had been renovated and looked nice. The view of the twin islands and the sea from the room was spectacular. The large public bath was a little small, but it had a nice view and an open-air bath, which was quite good. The kaiseki dinner was delicious, with generous portions of fresh dishes that filled me up.
First of all, it's very pleasant. I don't know if it was originally designed with a preference for luxury, but the basic size is spacious! The corridors, the lobby, the windows, etc. However, years have passed ^-^ Of course, some deterioration due to age is unavoidable. Hotel is aged, but staff are very friendly and warm welcome. Excellent view. Those are reflected in the price. So with this price for the view and food I believe it worth for money. Happy stay. Mostly I would comment positively only the tatami bed is too hard. Thank you very much.
The hotel was very old, however there were rooms that had been renovated and we came because it had a pool, despite it being written that it would be open in the summer, but when we came it said it was not open! My kids are disappointed… The view from the hotel is very casual and comfortable
It's quiet, the food is delicious, the staff is friendly, the hot springs are nice, there's a shuttle bus, everything is good, but there are no convenience stores or shops, only ryokans. There are a lot of places to take pictures.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. This is a very traditional Japanese ryokan-style hotel. While it has been refurbished, it beautifully retains its classic charm, almost making you feel like you've stepped back into the 80s. The swimming pool, however, seemed to be abandoned. It's a wonderful place to watch the sunset and experience the peaceful Japanese way of life.

The staff were very friendly. Unfortunately, I couldn't sleep because of the strong smell of tobacco, and the springs in the mattress were sticking out. I asked to be moved to a non-smoking room, but all the other single rooms are for smokers.

Excellent Seaview, very relaxing place stay this hotel, will come back next time.
The hotel has a beautiful environment, and the room is generally clean. However, the facilities could be improved—for example, there is only a power outlet on one side of the bed, which is quite inconvenient. One thing I am extremely dissatisfied with, and I believe both Trip.com and the hotel itself handled poorly: When booking through Trip.com, there was no information about what the dinner included...
Beautiful hotel, the rooms were really special in their own ways. The one I stayed in was relatively spacious for Japan standards, and the views of the sea were stunning. Amenities were adequate, sheets and pillows smell fresh and clean. They provide pyjamas as well! The highlights of this hotel is the super spacious, clean and new bathroom with a tub that automatically fills itself to 42 degrees...
How good was it? I stayed two nights, canceled all my planned attractions (including the train ride), and just stayed in my room and on the balcony. The breakfast was delicious, and I regretted not booking dinner. The view was simply stunning.
The cleanliness of the hotel is satisfactory. The room faces the sea, and the bathing area has a sea view, which is beautiful and special. The waiters are very nice and polite, and the food is delicious. I will stay in this hotel again if I have the chance.
