Hotel Wakasa in Ashikaga

The location is perfect, just in front pf Bannaji. Around also close to some historical spot to visit.
The room was small but good.
Amenities such as shampoo and body wash are inside the bathroom. But the others you can ask at front.
The staff is very omotenashi. He will say, ‘okaerinasamase’ when you back to the hotel after went outside.

nothing fancy but comfortable and friendly. Well located to local sights and some good small restaurants. Taxi to railway station is not expensive if you don't want the 15 min walk and they seem to be readily available.

We stayed at Wakaso for 9 nights in November 2023.
The location is great, right in front of Banna Ji temple, and free parking was provided. Room is clean, we enjoyed the free breakfast and the staff were all friendly.

Old style Jap Hotel with pleasant staff and comfortable rooms. Our room overlooked the Bannaji grounds a former Shogun residence with a moat around it. Breakfast was good. 4 carparks in the front and 7 more in the rear of the hotel. Bicycles for you to use.

This is a wonderful hotel for what it advertised itself as - a business hotel. Complete with decent WiFi, reasonably comfortable beds, and a satisfying continental breakfast of both western-style and Japanese-style foods, this hotel is one of the most enjoyable business hotels I've stayed at in Japan. They have free parking around the corner, the staff is responsive and helpful, and they offer some great amenities for tourists, too, like rental bicycles or free washing machines to freshen up clothes.
The location also can't be beat, with one major tourist destination literally across the street, and another literally around the corner, and a third a mere 20 minute walk away. Definitely a great option for a budget stay - the pillows were soft and fluffy, but the mattresses were very firm, which suits my preferences nicely.
Well worth the price for a budget hotel room!

Bannaji Temple and Ashikaga School are right in front of you! The popular Ashikaga Orihime Shrine and Ashikaga Flower Park are also nearby by car, making it an ideal base for sightseeing. It is an easy-to-use hotel with a parking lot. It's nice to have a breakfast buffet.

Can’t beat the price for what you get. It’s a low key operation but there is nothing more I could ask for. 3 mins on foot to the Ashikaga School.

Business hotel, Very good place !!
Interesting thing was that we won't get hot water between 10:00 AM-3PM.
