Yorokobinoyado Takamatsu, Kusatsu1 / 30
8.0
Kanto region, Kusatsu, 312 Kusatsu 🧭 Map
The hotel's location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from Yubatake and a 5-6 minute drive from Kusatsu Station. The hotel also offers a shuttle service to and from the station. As for facilities, the hotel has a bit of history, so it shows some age, but the overall impression is still good. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the onsen features two indoor baths and an outdoor hot spring, which is...
Great services with transportation pick up from bus terminal, people so nice and do the best to support all the guest.
The hotel is not far from the Kusatsu central area, about an 8-minute walk from the Kusatsu bus stop. I had booked a tatami room, but was given a twin room instead. The room was spacious with windows on two sides. The hotel's large public bath was spacious, although the outdoor pool was a bit small, only accommodating 3-4 people. Dinner was Japanese cuisine, but the variety and portions were limited...
The location is excellent, with parking available. The dinner and breakfast buffet were delicious. The hotel's public hot springs were clean and had many pools to choose from. The staff were friendly and spoke English. I initially booked a room that was just right for three people, but it turned out to be incredibly spacious, probably able to accommodate 7-8 people. Although the hotel is old, overall...
Excellent rooms and hot springs, and the breakfast buffet was also great. There's even a free drinking time in the evening!
Great deal for the hot spring and staff is nice , food average.

The room was larger than I expected and I was very comfortable. The open-air bath was also very comfortable. The front desk staff were also very kind.
It wasn't a buffet, but it was delicious. I was glad that it wasn't a buffet in the morning either. I was able to enjoy my meal at my own pace.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to provide excellent service. They even arranged to pick me up from another hotel, patiently explained everything I needed to know, and made sure I felt welcomed. The room was very clean and comfortable, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. On my departure day, they kindly offered me a ride to...
As soon as you arrive at the hotel, you can feel the perfect fusion of its unique Japanese style and modern design. The lobby is spacious and bright, with exquisite decoration. When checking in, the staff was warm and thoughtful. Not only did they help me complete the formalities quickly, they also patiently introduced the hotel's facilities. Their service attitude was impeccable. The room was clean...
It was so so good!!!! It was a hotel where I could go alone and heal It was a great value for money and the dinner and breakfast were so good There was also an open-air bath If you want a value for money ryokan feel, I definitely recommend it
We enjoyed our stay a lot! Both breakfast and dinner were in kaiseke style. The hotel picked us up from bus terminal, also sent us to the nearby ski resort. The most surprising part is the staff pick us up again from the ski resort and sent us to our 2nd hotel in Kusatsu. Best service ever!

Kanto region, Kusatsu, 464-34 Kusatsu, Agatsuma District, Gunma 377-1711 🧭 Map
We stayed here in May 2025. IT is an old hotel but has it charm. The room is comfortable and clean. The Onsen part is ok. it is full of old Japanese people. For some might not like this but I have no problem with it. My point is this an old hotel and everything about it kind of charming for me. Breakfast is decent, there were both western and Japanese food. It is not far from the park that also has...
Location was great stone throw to the skifield. I looked out directly to the ski slopes, absolutely stunning. The complimentary breakfast used a ticketing system, that you have to get the ticket in the evening each day. Being able to experience local breakfast in a buffet style was excellent. Some people may have certain dietary requirements, so this style was great. Selection was marvelous. The room...
I didn't expect great service from the hotel. It's really old. The cleaning in the room is bad, there was hair from the previous tenant on the wall and sink in the bathroom, and the food area is also dirty in places. I hope at least the bed linen was changed. However, the room is big. The breakfast is Japanese (so I can't rate it properly). The same employee cleans the room and takes the pass to the...
The room facilities are old and simple, there is no hand soap, no shower shampoo, the bathtub is useless, there is only a very small piece of soap. The outdoor hot spring feels that it is not cleaned every day, there is a lot of floating moss. The only advantage is that there is a balcony, you can see the ski resort in the distance, the price is not expensive, including breakfast and dinner are buffet...
Nice view. Very clean room. You will heard the broadcast at 09:15 that reminds you the check out time is 09:30. Although the location is far away from the central location, it’s good value for money.
Regarding the location of the hotel, there was a car shuttle from the Yubatake to the hotel, but this information was not received at the time of booking, and we walked there, which was a bit disappointing. The hotel's open-air bath was very good, and they also provided a car shuttle to the Yubatake and ski resort. Ski equipment can also be rented from the hotel, which is cheap and convenient. There...

The facilities are a bit old, but I already knew that beforehand, so it wasn’t a concern and was well-maintained. Both breakfast and dinner were provided, and they were absolutely delicious. The private onsen facilities in particular were great because they were never too crowded, so it was easy to relax and enjoy them freely. I also loved that I could use them multiple times during my stay. It was...
First time staying in a ryokan, and the experience is awesome! The hospitality and food provided by the ryokan owner is top notched. Their in house onsen is a must try, theres few option available, but i like dew the most as we can open up the window and enjoy the winter wind, while soaking in a hot water.
I used it for the first time! The heartfelt hospitality warmed my heart. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Especially the char was delicious and I got it to my head for the first time. The futon was soft and fluffy and I was able to sleep soundly. The hot springs were also divided into 4 areas and I was able to enjoy them. I will be using this again.
I went with a plan with a steak of Jalan with half board per person per night using block discount. By using Jalan's coupon, two people paid 9200 yen and got a 4000 yen Kusatsu street walking coupon, so it was actually 2600 yen per person. The food is very delicious, and if all the baths are free, it can be reserved. The room is on the 2nd floor and there are stairs going up and down, and it is difficult...
It was very affordable and the food was delicious. The steak and rainbow trout were delicious. The hot spring bath is also new, and there are 4 sleeping baths in private rooms, so it was very warm. The room was an old ryokan, but the futon was soft and fluffy and I was able to sleep well.
Very good, I want to visit again!

So impressed with the warm welcome from hotel staffs. Also, the yummy and considerate breakfast for both days. Luv this place. Recommended!
Very cute and traditional place. Couldnt choose non smoking so had to open windows whole night.
Breakfasts were excellent. Every staff were friendly and we really felt like home. Location is nearby the major travel spot but not noisy. Everything is good, just a very little thing: moved luggages by hand to room at 2nd floor. To me as a hushand and a daddy, it meant luggages of 3 persons I moved.
You can walk to the Yubatake nearby and enjoy Kusatsu to the fullest ^_^
The location is good, near the center of Tangchun. The room was nice with different pillow choices. The heating is sufficient and it is divided into a living room and a Chinese-style bedroom. There are four indoor hot springs, which are divided into dry and wet rooms, and are equipped with a full range of supplies such as combs and toiletries. The downside is that there are only four hot spring pools...
Absolutely loved our story here. If you book here, get the Sora room. It is worth it. It has its own private bath and lots of space. We loved it. And the town surrounding, is so cute and fun to walk around. It is a short walk from the bus when you arrive. The staff was so welcoming and sweet. We highly recommend staying here.

This is awesome place that you must choose to stay! The two gentlemen are amazing with great attitude and services. We arrived late around 8pm since everyone was resting but they waited for us and helped me to make restaurant booking after we 4hrs drive to the hotel. The bbq near by is good and local. The location is just one step out from the spot. We enjoyed the hot spring in a private room and this...
Perfect location, right next to the scenic spot. Great service and very good onsen
The staff have good service mind. Hotel is quite age but located in prime location which in front of is yutabake. Yakitori foos stall nearby (opposite Yutabake whichblong que) is great but the shop opens 3 pm onward.
Amazing place run by really nice people.
Very friendly staff, the public bath was nice, I would stay there again

It was wonderful. The owner is very attentive, kind, and speaks good English. The ryokan has a rich history, and we really enjoyed learning about it and talking with Mr. Yoshiaki. The onsen water is excellent, and we loved absolutely everything! The ryokan is very well located, but please note — it’s situated on a hill. The view is great, but you’ll need to walk uphill, which might be a bit difficult...
We stayed here during our honeymoon trip across Japan and looking back, it was definitely the nicest place we stayed in. It is a traditional family-owned business. Everyone we interacted with, especially the young man at the desk, went above and beyond to be extremely welcoming and friendly. The room was beautiful and the futons were very comfy. We used the private onsen which was very relaxing. We...
We stayed at this 5th generation, family run ryokan for 2 nights in October and had a lovely time. We were warmly welcomed and given a tour of the ryokan, which included a manga room, a piano, and the baths. We had a room on the second floor, quiet and overlooking the greenery outside. We enjoyed a rest in our room before heading out to explore, in our yukata. When we returned in the evening, the room...
Lovely stay at a traditional Ryokan! The staff are very friendly and give good advice. The room is spacious, clean and the futon is really comfortable! It was a great experience using a Japanese bath for the first time. Both gender separated and a private bathroom are available. Would highly recommend a stay!
I came to Kusatsu with some friends to spend three days, and this ryokan was absolutely perfect for relaxing after so much walking around. The hot spring baths could bring the dead back to life. They were amazing! The service was outstanding; the owners are incredibly kind and welcoming. We’re beyond happy with everything and truly enjoyed our stay 🙂‍↕️🥰

Is it the best hotel in this famous hot spring town? Nope, but it is very good value in my opinion. The hotel serves up to seven rooms a night and since there are two free private onsen rooms plus the bigger male and female individual rooms which are hardly used by anyone, you can almost always get your private hot spring which can cost quite a bit if you are to book a room with private bath. The...
Good service, friendly staff, rich breakfast and dinner.
Overall a good experience for what’s available to the area. Pros: Near the town center, well balanced dinner and breakfast service, private onsens with no reservation required (so tattoo friendly), and feels more like a traditional Japanese ryokan Cons: might be hard to communicate with staff if you have no Japanese skills, overall experience is not as glamorous as compared to more modern ryokans,...
I looooove this hotel. Everything from the food, the room, the hot spring, the price, the location everything is perfect. It’s very affordable and it even provides two wonderful meal. We get to stay in a spacious and clean Japanese style room. The room is so warm and cozy. We have dinner and breakfast at the room below us. A room all to ourselves. It’s even better than the more expensive ones, where...
Nice little japanese style hotel woth great services. The hotspring in house are great for couples and families with privacy. The foods they served are quite good too.
Stayed here overnight as part of our honeymoon. Owner + staff were welcoming and the ryokan overall was lovely. Our room was comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated, and when we came back from dinner, our beds were out ready for the night. We ate in a private room which was a nice touch to the whole experience. Food was exceptional- could tell each dish was carefully prepared and put together...

A very good hotel with a free shuttle bus to Yubata, the train station, and the ski resort. The hotel is large and has comprehensive recreational facilities, including bowling, karaoke, and billiards. The receptionist speaks excellent English, making communication completely seamless. It's a long walk from the reception to the rooms, but you'll pass a large gift shop with prices the same as the gift...
The room was spacious and clean. It was the first time I'd ever stayed in such a large room in Japan! The breakfast and dinner selection was varied and authentically delicious; the indoor and outdoor hot spring environment was absolutely first-class – a true resort paradise. A special thank you to the lovely Chinese receptionist, Ms. Xu. The night before, we had a flat tire and called 110 (police...
The hotel is a traditional hot spring resort, not too old. The rooms in the Western-style tower are reasonably sized, but the toilets are rather small and the toilet seat is quite close to the wall, which is a bit cramped. The hot spring has two outdoor pools and two indoor pools, all of which are quite large. There is plenty of free parking, and a shuttle bus runs to and from the hot spring area,...
We stayed 1 night at Kusatsu Onsen hotel village. It's indeed a resort which offers many activities (table tennis, bowling, game arcade etc.) and a separate spa center with swimming pool and sauna. We didn't bother to step out the hotel until we had to leave Kusatsu. The dinner and breakfast buffet were delicious too. There is shampoo and bathing tools for babies in the ladies bath. I believe it...
