They had yukata and other items provided, which was very comfortable.
They were also very helpful with getting my car in and out, so I had a great time.
Traditional style of Japan Ryokan.
Kind people and hospitality.

Naganohara, 1988-400 Kitakaruizawa 🧭 Map
There was a dog run and the dogs seemed to have a lot of fun.
It is a pension where you can stay with your dog. The owner couple are very warm, gentle and welcoming.
Although it is small, there is a dog run, and the dogs are satisfied.
The food is completely homemade and very healthy and delicious. It's not fancy, but it's enough to fill you up. It's a great location to escape the heat in the summer and enjoy skiing in the winter.
I stayed with my pet. The food is delicious and the facilities are beautiful. The service is also attentive. Kirara is also healed.
It is a clean and homey good pension. A delicious meal with plenty of vegetables. Toilet and bath are shared but clean. If it is with a dog, Kita Karuizawa best friend may be.
It is a pension that can be spent with Honobono. A small open-air bath is also great. I wished the food was so full of vegetables (laughs).
It was used in 2013 Feb 9-10.
To enjoy snow at Karuizawa Snow Park (Wanwan Paradise, Dog Run), you can arrive in 30 minutes by car.
It is very convenient geographically.
I think it is a convenient place to go to a dog run both winter and summer.

This is the highlight of our trip in Japan. The food, service, cleanliness, location, room and the access to the loungue is just perfect. It was hard to leave this hotel at the end of our trip.
We enjoyed the inclusive services a lot.
The private onsens were amazing and our room had a very great view.
Nice room and onsen bothe private and in room, enjoy stay and Kusatsu atmosphere.
Free beer, soup, ramen, private onsen!
Highly recommended. Definitely worth the money. (Free) shuttle service from/to Karuizawa saved us much time. All the onsens (including the one inside the room) are enjoyable. Definitely will visit again.

Very good place excellent service, great food, dinner and breakfast
The owner service is so nice generous safety, but still are so comfy and private
A bit little barrier to this place is about the transportation that you have to drive by yourself
But whatever Best
The room was clean, there was parking for 3 cars, and there was a refrigerator, but it was a bit cold (maybe because we didn't know how to set the heater, it kept stopping working by itself). There were 3 private onsens. ♨️ The owner took very good care of us.
New, fully renovated place with a hot spring. Owner was also very kind. Made kusatsu trip very enjoyable. Will visit again
There was also a hot spring in the facility. It was separated by gender, but it was used as a family charter for the time being , Happy to spend it with my partner. The rooms were clean and had a perfect view.
Located at a short distance from the town.
The host's casual consideration is also very pleasant, and if I visit Kusatsu again, I would like to visit you again.
About 7 years ago, I stayed during the touring. The room is clean and a little nostalgic, and it feels like you're back home. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to Yubatake, but it is a good distance to take a walk. The meal is all-you-can-eat rice, and it feels like a little Western food, mainly Japanese. The amount is sufficient both in the morning and evening, and it is delicious and full. The owner...
When I heard the way to the waterfall on the way back, he took me to the entrance by car, and the rice was very delicious and the private bath was also good. It was a quiet and very good trip, probably because I haven't put all the rooms in Corona yet.

The facilities are a bit old, but I already knew that beforehand, so it wasn’t a concern and was well-maintained. Both breakfast and dinner were provided, and they were absolutely delicious. The private onsen facilities in particular were great because they were never too crowded, so it was easy to relax and enjoy them freely. I also loved that I could use them multiple times during my stay. It was...
First time staying in a ryokan, and the experience is awesome! The hospitality and food provided by the ryokan owner is top notched. Their in house onsen is a must try, theres few option available, but i like dew the most as we can open up the window and enjoy the winter wind, while soaking in a hot water.
I used it for the first time!
The heartfelt hospitality warmed my heart.
Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Especially the char was delicious and I got it to my head for the first time.
The futon was soft and fluffy and I was able to sleep soundly.
The hot springs were also divided into 4 areas and I was able to enjoy them.
I will be using this again.
I went with a plan with a steak of Jalan with half board per person per night using block discount. By using Jalan's coupon, two people paid 9200 yen and got a 4000 yen Kusatsu street walking coupon, so it was actually 2600 yen per person. The food is very delicious, and if all the baths are free, it can be reserved. The room is on the 2nd floor and there are stairs going up and down, and it is difficult...
It was very affordable and the food was delicious.
The steak and rainbow trout were delicious.
The hot spring bath is also new, and there are 4 sleeping baths in private rooms, so it was very warm.
The room was an old ryokan, but the futon was soft and fluffy and I was able to sleep well.
Very good, I want to visit again!

So impressed with the warm welcome from hotel staffs. Also, the yummy and considerate breakfast for both days. Luv this place. Recommended!
Very cute and traditional place. Couldnt choose non smoking so had to open windows whole night.
Breakfasts were excellent. Every staff were friendly and we really felt like home. Location is nearby the major travel spot but not noisy.
Everything is good, just a very little thing: moved luggages by hand to room at 2nd floor. To me as a hushand and a daddy, it meant luggages of 3 persons I moved.
You can walk to the Yubatake nearby and enjoy Kusatsu to the fullest ^_^
The location is good, near the center of Tangchun. The room was nice with different pillow choices. The heating is sufficient and it is divided into a living room and a Chinese-style bedroom. There are four indoor hot springs, which are divided into dry and wet rooms, and are equipped with a full range of supplies such as combs and toiletries. The downside is that there are only four hot spring pools...
Absolutely loved our story here. If you book here, get the Sora room. It is worth it. It has its own private bath and lots of space. We loved it. And the town surrounding, is so cute and fun to walk around. It is a short walk from the bus when you arrive. The staff was so welcoming and sweet. We highly recommend staying here.

The hotel's location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from Yubatake and a 5-6 minute drive from Kusatsu Station. The hotel also offers a shuttle service to and from the station. As for facilities, the hotel has a bit of history, so it shows some age, but the overall impression is still good. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the onsen features two indoor baths and an outdoor hot spring, which is...
Great services with transportation pick up from bus terminal, people so nice and do the best to support all the guest.
The hotel is not far from the Kusatsu central area, about an 8-minute walk from the Kusatsu bus stop. I had booked a tatami room, but was given a twin room instead. The room was spacious with windows on two sides. The hotel's large public bath was spacious, although the outdoor pool was a bit small, only accommodating 3-4 people. Dinner was Japanese cuisine, but the variety and portions were limited...
The location is excellent, with parking available. The dinner and breakfast buffet were delicious. The hotel's public hot springs were clean and had many pools to choose from.

Is it the best hotel in this famous hot spring town? Nope, but it is very good value in my opinion. The hotel serves up to seven rooms a night and since there are two free private onsen rooms plus the bigger male and female individual rooms which are hardly used by anyone, you can almost always get your private hot spring which can cost quite a bit if you are to book a room with private bath. The...
Good service, friendly staff, rich breakfast and dinner.
Overall a good experience for what’s available to the area.
Pros: Near the town center, well balanced dinner and breakfast service, private onsens with no reservation required (so tattoo friendly), and feels more like a traditional Japanese ryokan
Cons: might be hard to communicate with staff if you have no Japanese skills, overall experience is not as glamorous as compared to more modern ryokans,...

Nice little japanese style hotel woth great services. The hotspring in house are great for couples and families with privacy. The foods they served are quite good too.

Located close to the Yubatake hot spring, the private baths (including an open-air bath) use the hot spring water from the Yubatake hot spring, and they're free. We stayed here during our honeymoon trip across Japan and looking back, it was definitely the nicest place we stayed in. It is a traditional family-owned business. We stayed at this 5th generation, family run ryokan for 2 nights in October and had a lovely time. We were warmly welcomed and given a tour of the ryokan, which included a manga room, a piano, and the baths. We had a room on the second floor, quiet and overlooking the greenery outside. It's incredibly spacious and pleasant. Among all the ryokans I've visited, this one is definitely top-notch. The food is delicious and the service is excellent.
I booked the highly-rated Bouun Ryokan three months in advance, supposedly in business for 462 years! The interior decor and tatami rooms were surprisingly new. The room service, the dining environment for dinner, and the exquisite Kaiseki cuisine were all incredibly impressive. We stayed for two nights, with breakfast and dinner included. The hotel uses only the finest Japanese ingredients, and not...
The facilities are up to standard. But the location is a bit far from the centre of the attraction. Need to walk up the slope for getting to the hotel. So rmb to need call shuttle bus to hotel. The overall service met our expectation, but not exceeding. More specifically, other onsen hotel can provide similar service, maybe more.
The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are spacious, but the heating was a bit insufficient. The public hot spring was excellent, and the private bath was also good. Dinner was very generous, but breakfast was too simple.
The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, about a 10-minute walk from the bus station. You can call the hotel for a pick-up, as dragging luggage uphill yourself can be a bit strenuous. The room layout is typical for a classic onsen hotel, nothing special but perfectly adequate. We only booked breakfast, and it was surprisingly delicious. The hotel is a traditional hot spring resort, not too old. The rooms in the Western-style tower are reasonably sized, but the toilets are rather small and the toilet seat is quite close to the wall, which is a bit cramped. We stayed here in May 2025. IT is an old hotel but has it charm. The room is comfortable and clean. The Onsen part is ok. it is full of old Japanese people. For some might not like this but I have no problem with it. My point is this an old hotel and everything about it kind of charming for me.

Location was great stone throw to the skifield. I looked out directly to the ski slopes, absolutely stunning. I didn't expect great service from the hotel. It's really old. The cleaning in the room is bad, there was hair from the previous tenant on the wall and sink in the bathroom, and the food area is also dirty in places. I hope at least the bed linen was changed. However, the room is big. The breakfast is Japanese (so I can't rate it properly). The same employee cleans the room and takes the pass to the...

At first I really couldn't find the main door. I thought I had to take the stairs to carry my luggage up, but I ended up taking the elevator from the hot spring area to the second floor and walking through the overpass to the main building to check in!

The place overall it's quite good, especially with the food and shinkansen package. My biggest complaint are the beds which are terrible, uncomfortable, and really messed up my back. Everything else could be awesome but at the end of the day it's a hotel and if the beds are terrible it loses out on a couple stars.
Great Hotel with lots of amenities for kids and adults. There are 3 different restaurants that you can choose , Japanese style , Foreign style and an open buffet. Nearbybthere is a very big Kids entertainment park with animals and toys.
Restaurants starts from 8 pm and you can enjoy the hot springs( inside the hotel).
