Front desk staff exceeded my expectations, in kindness, helpfulness and professionalism. Convenient location and very pleasant hotel with Japanese style rooms.

I arrived at Kochi in the evening with no hotel reservation. Every hotel I checked, both online and in person, was sold out. My last chance was to check in person at the Hotel Takasago Hotel, which it turned out to be fully booked as well. But the Front Desk helped me to find a hotel with availability by calling several of them in Japanese. When they could not find one for me, to extend their help, they offer me a special large Japanese style room for the night that it is not normally used and could accommodate many people on futons all for myself at the very affordable price of a single room. After I accepted, they immediately sent staff to prepare it for me, including the futon amd hot tea. The room was gorgeous. Next day they moved me to a smaller room. I ended up stay several days at the hotel, which is very pleasant, authentic, clean and in a good location. The service is genuinely impeccable. The exterior of the hotel was under repair and there was a net over it so we couldn't see outside, which was a shame.

I visited this hotel as a place to stay while traveling.

Apart from the location, it was honestly the worst...

First of all, it was hard to find the parking lot.

Even if I asked my companion where it was, they didn't even give me any directions.

They just said, "It's on the west side."

Don't they usually guide me to some extent?

Even if I managed to park, I couldn't get my car out once I parked.

I was worried, but they said, "It's first come, first served, so if someone else parks there, please use another paid parking lot."

I hurriedly parked...

When I entered the room, there was a continuous banging noise from the upper floor.

When I asked the front desk, they said, "A large family with many children has come."

That can't be helped, but because of the previous incident,

I was starting to get quite anxious at this point...

I was able to make a reservation for breakfast the next day between 7:00 and 8:30.

I chose the latest time of 8:30.

The salt on the table at the prepared seat was empty.

On top of that, they started calling me on the internal line, saying, "We're preparing miso soup for two more people."

Huh? They purposely made it the latest time, and what were you doing before then? Were you sleeping?

While we were eating, they started clearing away the dishes of those who had finished eating, making a lot of clattering noises. To top it off, an employee sat in an empty seat and started reading the newspaper.

When I finally went to the front desk to leave this hell,

"Parking will cost 800 yen."

Huh? If that's the case, you should have explained that from the beginning.
There's a parking lot right in front of me that costs about 450 yen a day and you can enter and exit as you like.

What is the parking space for?

It was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in my life...

I'll never stay here again. It was a horrible hotel that could lower the quality of my trip.

The queen size bed was very good. It was within walking distance to Hirome Market and Sunday Market. There is a 7-Eleven right in front of the hotel, which is convenient. Don't expect too much from the bath.

This hotel is in a great location, especially to the train station and shops. The concierge gave a professional and friendly welcome. The room I had (on the 4th floor, corner overlooking the street) was very appointed and very quiet. The bed was comfortable, making for a nice sleep and restful stay. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend if you're visiting Kochi city.

The check in staff was able to give details of hotel in English.
Room was clean (quad room, large, mix of twin bed plus futons).
Dinner and breakfast were kaiseki style and was tasty and adequate.
Indoor public bath was not large but it had nice amenities.
About 1 km walk to Hirome Market.
Lots of eateries nearby.

Very pleasant hotel with extremely kind staff. I booked a single room at the last minute and, upon checking in, was upgraded to a very nice tatami room with two beds and plentiful space.

The building is a bit old and scuffed up in places, but the overall aspect was lovely. The staff remembered me each time I returned and even offered to let me feed the koi in the lobby ☺️

I will come here again next time I am in Kochi.

The only negative, I would say, was that the street noises were pretty loud.

The room is large and clean. Amenity is full of Kochi and fun. I didn't think the amenities would be fun. It was easy to understand because it was close to the station. I want to stay again.
