Le COMBAVA Hôtel Restaurant in Antananarivo

We enjoyed two nights here. A pool would have been nice. The architecture of the building is a bit hard to understand. Wifi is patchy.

Staff is really helpful. Restaurant is great, food a bit on the pricey side compared to other places we stayed in Madagascar, but still reasonable.

There are a lot of mosquitos in this location, likely due to the rice fields in from, and mosquito nets in the room. It would have been appreciated.

Secured parking area.

For most visitors the value will be in the excellent restaurant, artistically decorated rooms, quiet shaded courtyard, and proximity to both the airport and the large craft market, away from the noise and bustle. For us it was the staff. My husband experienced a medical emergency, and the staff quickly arranged for a doctor and nurse to visit him in the room to diagnose his problem, and then ordered transport to a hospital. They responded with alacrity and professional calm. Upon his discharge they were most supportive. I can't thank them enough.

Combava is near the airport and a series of rice paddies. We stayed here as we had ongoing domestic flights. When my husband was ill with food poisoning, the staff quickly arranged a doctor to visit us in our room to make a diagnosis, and he was subsequently taken to a hospital. The staff at Combava were excellent in attending to all our needs and anticipating so that there were no delays. I cannot thank them enough. In addition, the restaurant is one of the best in Tana, and has a related farm that supplies it with safe vegetables. The food is inexpensive for its great quality. There is a craft market for souvenirs just a 5 minute walk away, and you can walk or take a short taxi ride to a nearby mall for banking or other shopping needs. The rooms are spacious and artistically decorated. The restaurant has shady garden courtyard tables as well where you can linger. If you are still you will have beautiful birds come to your table.

It was a bit chaotic when we arrived as a wedding function was finishing off and the car park was full.
The hotel has many stairs and no lift. The rooms/suits are very large and comfortable.
For dinner we had pizzas which were nice.
Staff were friendly and spoke very good English. No idea where previous comments came from as we were made welcome.
Nice continental breakfast with tasty omelette and good toast.
WiFi was more off than on. Tried two different routers and both not reliable. Which proved to be a slight problem as we were trying to check into our flights online.
Shower took forever to get hot and there was nowhere to attach the shower head in room 10.
Very convenient for airport.
Arts and crafts market is a 10-15 mins walk from here.

The restaurant's setting is truly unique and beautifully decorated. It's very comfortable and relaxing. I discovered a wonderful menu with a wide selection. Both my main course and dessert were perfect. I would also give a special mention to the quality of the welcome and service. I will definitely return, perhaps with a stay at the hotel which offers themed rooms!

The hotel is surrounded by trees, which gives it a certain charm. The property is beautiful. The rooms are lovely and clean, with all the amenities. The restaurant is good and relaxing. You feel right at home! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Good value for money.

I am here on business and the hotel was recommended by the client we work for. All I can say is that I am absolutely blown away by this hotel! The food is an absolute delight, rooms are perfectly cleaned with fluffy towels, the service staff is outstanding, there is stable wifi, and the reception is always manned (even in the middle of the night, I have tested it myself several times :D ), the airport is less than twenty minutes away and the rooms are very spacious. I can only highly recommend this hotel to anyone who comes to Antananarivo!

Situated half way between Tana International Airport and downtown Tana this well run Boutique Hotel is a little gem.
Staff are very helpful ,rooms are spacious and well furnished with tea and coffee making facilities,microwave etc.
The food on offer was tasty and French style.
The Combava offers airport pick up and drop off for a small fee, I would definitely stay here again.
