I had 3 nights here. The staff were lovely as was the food. I had the top corner room and the views were amazing. The air con worked very well and the room had all the usual facilities. We had a great time staying at Midsummer. The room was spotless and the bathroom was super clean. Rafiq, the housekeeper, was very attentive to our needs and is a friendly face to see in the morning and evening upon our return. Great guest house with very friendly service and a great view. It is located directly at the beach (and i mean directly! :-D) Rooms are big and for the price you pay totally fine. If you expect more, pay more. Only critic: The house is not good isolated, so if it is really rainy or stormy you need earplugs. But that is obviously just the worst case. We have visited Kahanbu for dining a few times. The host is Italian and the food is both fantastic and cheap. 15 euros included, salad, fruit and water. In addition, they have the most beautiful and very well-kept garden on the whole island, directly down to the best part of the beach.

We can’t recommend Kahanbu enough. Only 100m away from the fake surfer scene but feels like another world. Quiet, calm beach. Great snorkeling. Right next to the boat to Chickens. Cokes easily checked from the garden sunbeds. Breakfast and hanging in the garden was magic. Giulia was like an old friend after the first day. We loved it.

We didn't stay here but had dinner one evening. The food was very good but we waited almost 1.5 hours before we got the food. Apparently the hotel can't handle a la carte guests but only the hotel guests. Better say no than let people wait that long.

The Canopus is wonderful and in a truly amazing place. I read a few worrying reviews before we arrived, I can assure you, they are fake. There are cats on the island but they don't cause a problem and are treated very well by the locals and tourists. The whole place is very clean, well managed and friendly. The staff are amazing.

Nice location, well maintained rooms with high level of hospitality. Hotel management provides life saving jackets, snorkeling equipment for beach. Food was also good. Tea & coffee replenishment was done promptly on demand. Cleaning of rooms was also being done on regular basis.

I stayed last month, and had such a wonderful time, The hotel is a gem --beautifully decorated throughout; big, comfortable rooms with all the amenities; wonderful, attentive staff; a great, hot, breakfast; everything you could ask for, and more! Location is perfect -- right in the middle of downtown (but you'd never know it, once inside the hotel). I rarely rave about hotels, but this one is fantastic
